Chapter 217: A Proposal Under the Spotlight

Chapter 217: A Proposal Under the Spotlight

Aurora’s POV

The instant the crown was placed on Alessandro's head, the room exploded.

“All hail Alpha Alessandro!”

The calls flowed in waves like a mighty storm that surrounded the house, the sound vibrating the air with pure energy.

I have to admit, seeing him there, so proud and strong, you could tell he was the Alpha man from the moment he took the floor, I felt my heart filling up with pride.

His broad shoulders squared, his jaw set, his eyes burning with determination.

I looked at him, and my heart whispered what my lips could not yet say.

This is the man I chose.

My fated mate.

My perfect Alpha.

When the crowd finally quieted, Alessandro stepped forward, his voice steady, commanding.

“As the new Alpha of the Shadow Pack,” he began, “my duty is to protect, to lead, and to honor the bond between us all.

This pack has suffered betrayal, division, and loss but we have also shown resilience.

Together, we are unbreakable.”

The crowd cheered. Some shouted his name.

He continued, his tone softening.

“But an Alpha cannot lead alone.”

My breath caught as his eyes swept over the pack… and then landed directly on me.

The warmth of his smile cut through the grandeur of the moment, making it feel like we were the only two people in the room.

“And as Alpha of the Shadow Pack,” he said, pausing deliberately,

“I will need my mate by my side to lead this pack with.”

A ripple went through the crowd.

All eyes turned to me.

Whispers rose. Some of the female betas shot me envious looks, their lips tight with disbelief.

Others, however, cheered for me, clapping and calling my name.

“Aurora!”

“Luna Aurora!”

Heat rushed to my cheeks. My legs trembled as Alessandro’s voice rang out.

“Aurora,” he called, his gaze never leaving mine, “join me.”

I swallowed hard, nerves twisting in my stomach, but my heart propelled me forward.

Step by step, I walked to the stage.

When I reached him, I bowed my head respectfully.

“My Alpha,” I said softly.

But Alessandro didn’t let me stay down. His strong hands lifted me to my feet, his voice ringing loud enough for the entire pack to hear.

“Aurora,” he began, his eyes locking onto mine, “you are the reason I became the man I am today.

I know… I know we started on a bad note.

Me hating you for coming to this pack with your addicted mother and no father.

I know I made every day of your life here a living hell.”

The crowd shifted uneasily. His honesty hung in the air.

He went on, his voice thick with sincerity.

“And yet… despite all of that, despite me… you stayed. You fought. And somewhere in the middle of our battles, our anger, and our scars, we fell for each other.”

My lips trembled. I could barely breathe.

Then Alessandro did something no one expected.

He went down on one knee.

Gasps filled the hall.

The mighty Alpha of the Shadow Pack kneeling, not in defeat, but in devotion.

“Aurora,” his voice carried, strong and unshaken, “will you marry me?

Will you become my Luna… and lead this pack with me?”

The hall went utterly silent. Every wolf, every warrior, every elder held their breath, waiting.

Gabriel leaned forward in the front row, whispering, “Did he just…?”

Rafael smirked, shaking his head.

“Never thought I’d see the day.”

But all I could hear was the beating of my own heart.

Alessandro’s eyes never wavered, burning into me, daring me to say yes.

The silence stretched, heavy and expectant. The entire Shadow Pack waited for my response.

I stepped forward, my heart beating as I found my voice.

“I….I accept you, Alpha Alessandro. Not only as my Alpha, but as my mate, my partner, and my heart.

I will stand by your side, through battles, through peace, through every storm.

I will be your Luna.”

The silence that followed lasted only for a beat before the pack went wild.

Cheers, howls, whistles, claps, the sound was deafening. Wolves pounded fists on their chests, a sea of loyalty and devotion.

“Luna Aurora!” someone shouted, and soon the chant grew, spreading through the hall until it filled every corner.

I felt Alessandro’s hand slide into mine. His thumb brushed against my palm.

He bent his head close to me, his voice low enough only I could hear.

“Do you hear them, Aurora?

They’ve accepted you… they’ve accepted us.

You’ve given me more than I could ever dream.”

I squeezed his hand back, whispering through my tears, “No, Alessandro.

You’ve given me home again.”

The Coronation Celebration

Hours later, the grand hall had been transformed into a festival of light and laughter.

Music filled the air, wolves danced, tables overflowed with food and wine.

It wasn’t just a celebration of a new Alpha, it was a celebration of hope.

I sat at a long table with Rafael, Gabriel, Annie, and Alessandro, basking in the warmth of it all.

Alessandro had not let go of my hand since the ceremony ended.

Yet, as I scanned the crowd, something tugged at me. One face was missing.

I leaned closer to Gabriel.

“I don’t see Leonardo.

Wasn’t he at the coronation?”

Gabriel gave me a nod.

“He was there.

Stood in the back, actually. But right after, he said he had urgent financial matters of the pack to handle, so he had to leave.”

“Oh…” I frowned softly.

Just then, my phone buzzed in my lap.

A message.

From Leonardo.

“Congratulations, Aurora. I’m proud of you both.”

I typed quickly, biting my lip.

“Thank you, but why weren’t you here for Alessandro’s coronation celebration?”

It didn’t take long for his reply to arrive.

“I’ll be around soon. There are things we need to talk about. Can we meet tomorrow?”

I hesitated for a moment, then nodded to myself and typed back.

“Yes.

Tomorrow.”

I closed my phone and set it aside, forcing a smile as I focused back on the laughter around me.

This night wasn’t about unanswered questions it was about Alessandro.

Just then, Alessandro rose to his feet and extended his hand toward me. His voice was teasing but filled with pride.

“May I have this dance, my Luna?”

I chuckled, slipping my hand into his.

“You may, Alpha.”

The pack cheered again as he pulled me to the dance floor. He guided me into the rhythm, his hand firm on my waist, his eyes locked on mine.

“You look breathtaking tonight,” he murmured, his voice only for me.

“Flattery won’t make me dance better,” I teased.

He chuckled, leaning closer.
“It’s not flattery if it’s true.”

As we twirled, I noticed the stares, female betas watching me with a mixture of admiration and envy.

Some whispered to each other, their gazes lingering on Alessandro.

I smiled up at him knowingly.

“You do realize half the women in this hall are staring at you, right?”

His grin was sly.

“Good.

Let them stare.

Because they’ll see who I’m holding, and they’ll know exactly where I belong.”
