Chapter 135: Falling Deeper.

Aurora’s POV

I woke up to soft rays of sunlight coming through the curtains, warming the sheets that still carried the scent of Alessandro. I reached out instinctively to the other side of the bed, but it was empty.

My fingers cuddled around the sheets as I pulled them closer to me, a small smile forming on my lips as memories of the night before flooded in.

The way he held me…. the way he looked at me like I was the only one in the world.

And talk about those words he said to me about me actually being the first woman he had ever felt so deeply for.

He didn’t say it to impress me. He didn’t need to. I saw it in his eyes. That vulnerability, that sincerity….it was raw, unfiltered and real.
No one had ever looked at me like that.

Like I mattered.

Like I was everything.
Not just a girl in the room… not just another face in the crowd.

But his girl. The one he saw. The one he chose.

And damn it, the way he said those words…

It wasn’t some line. It wasn’t sweet-talking.
It was real.
I giggled and hit my hand on the bed, burying my face into the pillow like a schoolgirl caught in a daydream.
My cheeks were burning up I could feel the heat rush to my ears.
"Get a grip, Aurora."
But I couldn’t. Not when the memory kept replaying in my head again… and again… and again.
"You’re the first woman I’ve ever felt this way about."
Those words.

That look in his eyes.

That kiss and the sex….. damn it! It was the best!
I let out a happy sigh and rolled onto my back, staring at the ceiling with a goofy grin stretched across my face.
Was this what it felt like to be wanted, truly, deeply wanted not just for a while, but for everything?
If it was…

Then I never wanted to wake up from this. Because I think I am falling for him more than I ever thought I would.
But just then…. my smile faded as I thought about why he left before I could wake up.

Why didn’t he say goodbye this morning?

I slowly sat up, pushing my hair out of my face, and that’s when I saw it a folded note on the pillow.

My heart skipped a beat. I reached for it with trembling hands, the paper soft and light like it might disappear if I blinked too long.

Unfolding it carefully, I read the words in his unmistakable handwriting.

Aurora,
I didn’t want to wake you, but I have duties to attend to this morning. Last night meant everything to me. More than I can even put into words.
I promise, this isn’t just a fleeting moment for me. You are mine, and I am yours. I will always stand by your side, no matter what.
Get some rest, my love. I’ll see you soon.
—Alessandro

I stared at the letter, the corners of my eyes stinging with unexpected tears.

Not the sad kind….

But the kind that comes when your heart feels seen. When someone finally chooses you.

“You are mine, and I am yours.”

I pressed the note against my chest, closing my eyes.

Was it too soon to say I loved him?
Just as I was about to read the note again for the hundredth time, my phone buzzed on the nightstand.
I reached over lazily, still smiling like a lovesick fool.

Please let it be him again, I thought.
But it wasn’t.
It was Annie.
“Girl, don’t tell me you forgot you have class by 10AM!
You better not be sleeping in.
MOVE!!”
My eyes widened.

“Oh crap!”
I practically launched off the bed, the note flying off my lap as I checked the time.
9:37 AM.
“Shit, shit, shit!”
I rushed to the bathroom, nearly tripping over my own feet. My hair was a mess, my cheeks still flushed from… well, everything, and I hadn’t even thought about class once since I woke up.
Way to be a responsible student, Aurora.
As I brushed my teeth with one hand and tried to pick out an outfit with the other, I muttered to myself,
“Okay, okay… just throw something on. Casual but not like walk-of-shame casual.
Focus, girl.”
I grabbed a hoodie, high-waisted jeans, and tied my hair up in a quick ponytail.
The mirror confirmed I still looked slightly disheveled, but I could work with that.
Besides… it’s not like Alessandro’s going to be there to see me.

That thought made me blush all over again.
Snatching my backpack, I stuffed the note carefully inside the front pocket like it was some kind of sacred relic.
Because maybe it was.
Running out the door, I texted Annie back.
“On my way! And no, I didn’t forget… I was just… emotionally delayed”
By the time I parked my car at the campus lot, it was already a few minutes past ten.
I didn’t even bother checking my makeup in the mirror I was too busy speed-walking toward the hall, weaving through students like I was in some kind of maze.
I finally reached the lecture hall, eyes scanning the rows like a hawk until I spotted Annie near the middle.
She waved her hand dramatically above her head to catch my attention.
“There!” she mouthed.
I sighed in relief and made my way toward her, finally dropping into the seat next to her with a heavy exhale.
I tossed my backpack on the table and tried to play it cool, but Annie was already staring at me.
And not just any stare. The Stare.
Her eyes furrowed.
“Alright,” she said, arms folded.
“Spill.”
I blinked.
“Spill what?”
“Oh please,” she scoffed.
“That glow on your face?
Don’t even try to play it off. Something happened after our call last night, didn’t it?”
I bit my lip, trying to hold back the smile that was already threatening to break through.
Annie gasped.
“Ah-ha!
That look!
That lip bite?
Girl, that’s suspicious.
Now SPILL.”
I looked around to make sure no one was eavesdropping, then leaned in slightly.
“Okay… after we talked last night, Leonardo showed up at my room.”
Annie’s eyes widened immediately.
“What?!
Leonardo??
Why?!”
“He was pissed,” I said, lowering my voice.
“Like… seriously pissed that I went on a date with Alessandro.”
Annie blinked.
“Wait, how did he even know you two went out?”
I shrugged.
“I don’t know. Maybe he followed us?
Or someone told him? I have no idea.”
Annie looked half-horrified, half-thrilled.
“That’s so creepy but also juicy. Continue.”
I rolled my eyes but went on.
“He started yelling and ranting, and I could tell he was mad… like, really mad.
And then I don’t even know how but I think he realized Alessandro and I kissed.”
“Yikes,” Annie muttered.
“Right?
And then, while we were still talking, Alessandro showed up at my door.
But before I could go open it…”
Annie leaned in closer, eyes wide.
“Leonardo grabbed my hand… pulled me to him… and kissed me.”
Annie gasped audibly.
“No!”
“I swear.
And I hated it.
Especially because guess what Alessandro opened the door and saw us.”
“Oh. My. Goddess,” Annie whispered.
“What did he do?!”
I smiled, soft and slow.
“Well, I expected that he would be pissed and all, but he wasn’t and he just grabbed me… and kissed me back.”
Annie’s jaw dropped.
“Nooo—”
I nodded.
“Yes. And then… well, one thing led to another and…”
Annie grabbed my arm.
“DON’T YOU DARE STOP THERE!”
I looked at her and whispered with a dreamy grin,
“We made love last night.”
She screamed.
Not just a little squeal, but a loud scream that surprised everyone in the hall.
Heads turned. A few students blinked in surprise. The guy in front of us actually dropped his pen.
“Miss Annie,” I whispered through gritted teeth.
“Calm down!”
She threw her hands over her mouth, clearly embarrassed, but still grinning like a maniac.
“I…..sorry….I can’t!
That’s… that’s HUGE.
Like… Aurora!
You and Alessandro?!”
I laughed softly, cheeks heating up again.
“It was the best I’ve ever had, Annie.
Like… ever.”
Annie squealed again, this time with a little more restraint.
“Okay, you’re telling me everything after class. Every. Little. Detail.”
“Deal,” I whispered with a smirk.
The professor came in and started class, but I couldn't stop thinking about last night. I think I've fallen in love with Alessandro Prickette.
