Chapter 208: The Wedding Trap

Chapter 208: The Wedding Trap

Alessandro’s POV

“Father, stop!” Aurora’s voice rang out, sharp and desperate.

Alpha Tony froze mid-snarling breath, his grip on Alpha John still iron but faltering as he turned toward his daughter.

“Please, Father,” Aurora pleaded, stepping closer.

“Don’t let Alpha Maverick get into your head and plant a disastrous seed about your sister, Valeri.

You knew her better than anyone. You know the type of person she was.

So please… don’t let Maverick twist the truth.”

Her words cut through the storm. Slowly, Alpha Tony loosened his grip, shoving Alpha John away with a final glare.

The room exhaled in silence.

I seized the moment, stepping forward.

“I think it’s time you return to your pack, Alpha Maverick.”

Maverick adjusted his cloak with deliberate arrogance, his smirk never leaving his lips.

“Oh, I will. But don’t think you’ve seen the last of me. Tomorrow, I shall return for the wedding ceremony.

So make every preparation by tomorrow evening, my daughter will become your daughter-in-law, and our alliance will be sealed.”

No one moved. No one spoke. The chamber was heavy with unease as Maverick strolled out, excitement radiating from every step as though his schemes were already victory.

When the door closed behind him, Alpha John faced Alpha Tony, his voice steady but edged with regret.

“Alpha Tony, listen to me. I was a jerk to your sister. I’ll admit that.

But there’s one thing I never did—and that was take advantage of her.”

Tony’s jaw tightened, his eyes flashing with rage.

“Then explain what Maverick just said.”

John shook his head, desperation creeping into his voice. “He’s trying to divide us.

He knows we’re in agreement to unite our children. He knows that once Alessandro takes his place as Alpha, our alliance will make us the strongest pack in the states.

He’s trying to poison that. Please, believe me when I say, I never touched your sister.

Whatever allegations he just spewed, they are lies.”

Before Alpha Tony could respond, hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway.

“Alessandro!” Rafael’s voice called, breathless. He and Gabriel appeared at the entrance, both wide-eyed.

“We heard the commotion what happened?”

I clenched my jaw.

“It’s Maverick.

He’s trying to tear us apart. He wants havoc, and he won’t stop until he destroys anyone who dares stand in his way.”

Gabriel frowned.

“And how’s he planning to do that?”

I let out a low breath.

“Through the wedding. He’s moved it forward.”

“What?” Rafael snapped, eyes narrowing.

“His daughter’s wedding?”

I nodded grimly.

“Yes. He came here demanding the ceremony take place tomorrow. During the full moon.”

Rafael’s eyes hardened. “So what should we do?”

I exhaled deeply, glancing around at everyone. “We need to end this so-called alliance with Alpha Maverick.

We can’t allow Leonardo to marry that witch not tomorrow, not ever.

The only way to stop this wedding is to prove that the child she carries isn’t his.”

Rafael frowned, confusion flickering in his gaze.

“And how exactly are we supposed to do that? The baby is still in the womb.

There’s no way to confirm if Leonardo is the father right now.”

Gabriel suddenly raised his hand, his tone calm but sure.

“Actually… there is a way.”

Everyone’s heads turned to him at once, eyes filled with disbelief.

“What do you mean?” Aurora asked softly, her brows furrowed.

Gabriel grinned, folding his arms.

“Come on, am I the only genius in this house?

There are methods, ancient ones, rooted in our bloodlines. Ways to test paternity even before a child is born.”

Alpha John stepped forward, skeptical.

“Are you certain of this, Gabriel?

This isn’t some trick that could backfire?”

Gabriel’s grin widened.

“Certain. Trust me. Just leave it to me.”

He jabbed his finger at us one by one. “You all focus on the wedding preparations.

Make it look like we’re fine with Maverick’s plan. Play along until I bring the truth to light.”

“Gabriel—”

I started, but he was already turning toward the door.

“Relax, Alessandro.

I know what I’m doing.”

He gave us one last smirk over his shoulder.

“Just keep Maverick busy. I’ll handle the rest.”

With that, Gabriel walked out, leaving the rest of us staring after him in tense silence.

I pushed open the door to Leonardo’s chamber. He was sitting with a bottle of whiskey in his hand, eyes bloodshot.

“Leonardo,” I said flatly. “The wedding has been moved.”

He didn’t even look at me. “Moved?”

“Yes. Tomorrow. During the full moon.”

The bottle in his hand flew across the room, shattering against the wall.

“WHAT?!”

His voice roared, veins bulging in his neck.

“Those bastards!”

I clenched my jaw, watching his anger spill over. I wanted to tell him about Gabriel’s plan, but… no.

He wasn’t in the right frame of mind. “You’d better prepare yourself,” I said coldly.

“Because whether you like it or not, you’re marrying Lena tomorrow.”

Leonardo’s eyes snapped to me, wild with fury. He stood abruptly and grabbed me by the collar, yanking me close.

“Tell me, Alessandro… have you come to gloat?

You already have Aurora, don’t you?

And now you’ve discovered she’s of royal bloodline, huh?”

I narrowed my eyes, my voice low and sharp.

“Get your hand off me.”

He tightened his grip.

“Answer me!”

I shoved his hand away, straightening my clothes.

“I never cared about her bloodline, Leonardo. Not once. She could’ve been a maid or a princess, and it wouldn’t have mattered. All I wanted was her.”

Leonardo blinked, stunned into silence for a moment.

“The difference between us,” I continued, my tone like steel, “is that I knew what I wanted and went all the way to fight for it. You?

You were too busy trying to prove yourself to Father. You never even knew what you had until it slipped right through your hands.

And now… you’ve lost the right to be with Aurora.”

I turned without another word and walked to the door, leaving him fuming in silence.

As the door clicked shut behind me, I noticed Rafael leaning against the wall, arms crossed.

“Why didn’t you tell him?” Rafael asked quietly.

“About the plan?”

I sighed, running a hand over my face.

“Because he’s not in the right frame of mind.

He’d ruin everything if he knew. Until we confirm the truth about the child… Leonardo stays in the dark.”

Rafael nodded slowly, his expression unreadable.

“This ends tomorrow.”
