The Grumpiest Person in the Pack.

Aurora's POV

I couldn't understand why Alessandro didn't like me. Everyone in the pack except him seemed to enjoy my company.

I decided to take matters into my own hands and try to mend things with Alessandro.

I approached Rafael, who was lounging on the couch, and asked, "Hey Rafael, have you seen Alessandro? He wasn't at dinner tonight."

Rafael shrugged, not looking up from his phone. "No idea... maybe handling pack affairs.

You know Alessandro is more focused on taking care of the pack than dating or even eating."

I sat down beside him, curious. "That's weird. Why would he prioritize work over food?"

Rafael gestured for me to come closer, a conspiratorial look on his face. I leaned in as he whispered.

"Alessandro has always felt like he wasn't part of this family because he works more than the rest of us to handle pack affairs.

But my father hasn't recognized him as the potential heir to become the next Alpha of the Shadow Pack."

My eyes widened in surprise. "That's not fair!"

Rafael nodded in agreement. "I know. But be careful, Aurora. Alessandro's pride is hurt, and he might not take kindly to your gestures."

I nodded, but I was determined to try. "I'm going to bring him dinner anyway. Maybe he's just hungry and grumpy."

Rafael raised an eyebrow. "You sure that's a good idea? He can be pretty intense when he's working."

I stood up, resolute. "I'll be fine. I just want to help."

Rafael sighed, standing up to block my path. "Aurora, listen to me. Alessandro doesn't want your help. He wants to be left alone."

I pushed past him, heading towards Alessandro's room. "I'll be careful, Rafael. Thanks for worrying."

As I stood before Alessandro's door, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves.

"Okay, Aurora, you can do this. Just be kind and friendly," I muttered to myself. But who was I kidding? I was about to face the grumpiest person in the pack.

*Knock knock knock*

I knocked softly on the door, and when he didn't respond, I slowly turned the handle and entered.

“Hello...?” I called out as I didn’t see him inside his room.

I stepped further into the room, my eyes scanning the space. The room was dimly lit, with only a single lamp casting a warm glow on the desk.

Papers and books were scattered everywhere, and the air was thick with the scent of old leather and ink.

"Alessandro?" I called out again, my voice a little louder this time. I walked towards his desk, my curiosity getting the better of me.

I dropped the plate on the desk and picked up one of the papers on the floor. It showed information about a beta victim who had died from strange attacks recently.

My curiosity piqued, I bent down to pick up more of the papers on the floor to glance through them.

As I looked at the pages, I realized that Alessandro was investigating a series of mysterious attacks on beta wolves. The papers detailed the victims' wounds, the locations of the attacks, and possible suspects. I was filled with fear as I read through the gruesome details.

Suddenly, I heard a low growl behind me. I turned to see Alessandro standing in the shadows, his eyes burning with anger.

"What do you think you're doing?"

I stood up, holding up my hands in a calming gesture. "I was just trying to understand what you're working on. These attacks sound terrible."

Alessandro took a step closer, his eyes narrowed. "You have no right to interfere in pack business. This doesn't concern you."

I picked up the plate from his desk and held out the plate of food, trying to sound cheerful.

"I brought you dinner! You missed it, and I thought you might be hungry."

Before I could even put the plate down, Alessandro took it from me and threw it across the room. The plate broke against the wall, and I felt hurt by his actions.

"Get out, Aurora. I told you to stay away," Alessandro said, his eyes angry.

I felt a lump in my throat. Why was he pushing me away? I took a step closer to Alessandro, my anger rising.

"Why do you hate me so much?" I asked, my voice shaking. "What did I do to make you so angry?"

Alessandro smirked, crossing his arms over his chest. "You shouldn't be here," he said.

"My father marrying your mother was a mistake. And you're always flirting with my brothers, acting like you're so perfect."

I opened my mouth to speak, but Alessandro cut me off. "I don't like girls like you," he said, his voice cold. "You think the world revolves around you. It makes me sick."

I took a step back, feeling hurt by his words. Alessandro turned away, dismissing me. I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes, but I refused to cry in front of him.

"I never had it easy!"

I yelled, my anger boiling over. I took a step closer to Alessandro, my fists clenched.

"My father banished my mother and me because she cheated on him. He didn't want me in his pack just because I'm a girl," I said, my voice shaking.

"My mother, who was supposed to comfort me, became my worst nightmare. She got addicted to drugs and alcohol, and anytime I complained, she blamed me."

I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes as I remembered the pain. "She abused me, made me lose my self-esteem.

She remarried several times, not caring how I felt. Her husbands tried to take advantage of me too."

I glared at Alessandro, my heart racing. "Don't you dare say I act like the world revolves around me when you have no idea what I've been through."

With that, I turned and walked out of his room, slamming the door hard behind me. I didn't look back, trying to hold back tears…..
