Chapter 12
LUNA POV
The sun is as hot as a burning fire today. Matilda invited me to help her pick some flowers in the garden. My body still aches a little after what happened in the woods yesterday. Thanks to Matilda, her cream was effective. My wounds are getting better now.
From a distance, I saw Stefan, Francis, and Hector talking. I wonder what they are talking about as they all wear a serious look this morning. I remember last night how Hector slept on the couch since I am in his bed the whole night. He asked if I would invite him to sleep with me in the bed. He was teasing me. Instead, of answering him last night, I just made myself comfortable in bed and slept. Well, if he only knew how interested I am to sleep with him in the bed. But he was the king of all womanizers, I will never fall for him. Never in this life.
"The flowers are beautiful Matilda. Did you plant all these?" I inquired.
"Not me Luna. It was Hector's mom. Ysabelle loves this garden so much. She would love to spend the whole time here," she disclosed.
It was amazing to know about Hector's mom. I can see Matilda's eyes sparks as she tells about Hector's mom.
"Where is she now?" I think I am starting to become interested in the family of my kidnapper.
I saw her expression change to sadness. "She is dead a long time ago, Luna."
I felt a stabbing pain in my heart. I know how painful it is to lose a mother.
"I'm sorry to hear that, Matilda."
"When Ysabelle died, I took the responsibility to look after Hector." she continued.
I turned my gaze in Hector's direction and was surprised to see him looking at me.
What now? Is he been looking at me for a while now?
I immediately looked away as my heart pounded as if it was a train on the tracks.
Luna come on! Stop this bullshit of yours. I told myself.
You can never have a feeling for that man. I whispered in my mind over and over again.
"I think this was enough Luna," Matilda declared as she reached for the flowers in my hands.
"Luna! Luna"
I turned to see Stefan calling for me.
"Come here, let's play!" he invited me.
Play? Is that what they are talking about a while ago? Discussing a game?
I walked towards the three men. There was a bottle of wine on the table. Are we going to drink?
"Come, Luna, let us play. Do you know the game Drinking Roulette?" Stefan asked me.
"I don't know this game," I told Stefan.
To play this, we need some drinks – preferably wine – and two glasses. We divide the group. Me and Francis, then you and Hector.
I felt my face burning when I heard Hector’s name and we will be in a group. I felt excited.
"In the game, one of you will ask a question, and the other one will have to answer with a yes or no," Stefan spoke.
"If the answer is a ‘yes,’ the person who is being asked the question will have to take a sip. If the answer is a ‘no,’ no one has to take a sip. “Stefan continued.
Maybe I can take this opportunity to ask questions that will help me learn things about Hector and why he brought me here. But the problem is, I am not used to drinking wine. I am not like Elli who can drink all night long in clubs and can still walk properly even though her vision is spinning. I remember the last time I drank beer when Elli invited me to her friend's birthday party, I got drunk and started to dance like crazy. Elli told me that I even cried and rolled into the floor that night. And the next morning I woke up, I felt my head as heavy as stone and it seems my body had been in a boxing ring. Anyway, I will not let this opportunity come to waste. I need to ask him questions and he needs to answer me with a yes or a no.
After a few seconds, I saw him sitting on the opposite side of the table. His gaze was penetrating. Slowly I made myself comfortable on the chair.
"Are you sure you're fine with drinking wine?" he asked as he prepared the first shot of wine."
"Of course, I am not that weak. It is just a glass of wine," I told him as I rolled my eyes.
"Alright, I think you can handle it anyway. But I am not sure if you can handle my questions," I saw his playful smile again.
"Ladies first, ask me anything Luna," as he turned to his friends who are busy playing the game while laughing.
"Are you serious about saying that you will kill me if I would escape?" I throw my first question.
"Yes", he said with no doubt as he drank the first glass of wine.
I swallowed hard. He is crazy and evil as always.
"Are you afraid of me?" he uttered the second question.
"Yes," I am scared of him, I admit that. Especially every time he threatens to kill me. I saw his furious look as I sipped my wine. The wine was good. I am loving the sweet sensation as it flows down to my throat.
"Do you have many women?" I was so shocked to myself after the question slipped out of my mouth. What the hell Luna.
"Yes," he said and his expressions are blank.
"Did you have a boyfriend, Luna," I was surprised by his next question.
"No" I am being honest here. I never had a boyfriend even once. I don't know. I am just not interested. It is just Elli who was so excited to change boyfriends every month.
"Do you know me and my family even before you kidnapped me?" This time I am so proud of myself to be able to ask a question that is relevant to my investigation.
"Yes," he replied.
So he knew my family, but why would he take me and bring me to his father anyway.
"Did you have your first kiss, Luna," he asked me again. This time, I felt my face burning like flames. Is he interested in my love life now?
"No" I answered him immediately. Am I like many girls out there who would kiss anyone even if she doesn't have a boyfriend. This man is getting on my nerves now.
I took a deep breath and asked him another question. Shit, this is the craziest question I've ever asked in my whole life.
"Do you like me, Hector?"
