Chapter 70
HECTOR POV
It is so great to see a big number of werewolves from the different packs uniting as one. These brave packs will fight with us against the Madfur pack and their allied rogues.
"We need to work together. To defeat Lucas and his armies is not that easy. We need to be smart. We need to be strong."
I scanned the crowd. There were new faces around me.
"The war will be two days from now. We need to prepare. Our lives will be at risk, but we need to do this for the future generation. We need to free all packs from the evil pack that wants to take control."
Everyone is listening to me. Until my eyes caught a girl from a distance. She's wearing a red hood. I can't see her face. I can't understand why I felt something within me when my eyes landed on her.
People cheered and I looked around again. My eyes went back in that direction but she was gone.
I tried to compose myself as I smiled at the people around me. They are all eager to fight in this war.
I turned to look at Stefan.
"Stefan, I want you to attend to all alphas. Arrange a meeting tonight. We need to discuss the plan,"
"Yes, alpha," he replied.
I admit I can feel the stress and pressure right now. We've been preparing for months. We need to win this war.
Jasmine appeared on my side.
"Hector, you look so tired. I think you need to rest for now. You've been awake the whole night checking on the fighters and the weapon. We prepared your tent. You can rest now," she shared a worried look.
"Thank you for everything Jasmine. You are right, I need to rest too,"
I'm glad she's here. Her pack has been working a lot to support us. She should be resting right now, after that miscarriage a few months ago. She's been crying the past few weeks, remembering the loss of her baby. I am happy to see that she's alright now.
I reached my tent and went inside. My bed was soft and it was perfect timing to lay down and sleep.
I will not sleep, maybe I just need to take a nap to gain strength. I closed my eyes, hoping to calm my nerves and rest my mind.
Until my wolf, suddenly woke me up. I can feel my wolf inside me.
It is like he is inviting me to run in the woods.
"Oh, no. Not now. What are you doing? This is time to rest not to run,"
But my wolf is disobeying me. He wants to run in the woods.
I can't say no to my wolf, so I decided to shift and run deeper into the forest.
I felt freedom. The ambiance was fresh and good in the middle of the woods.
My wolf doesn't want to stop running. So I just let him be in full control.
We reached a clearing near a small lake. It was quiet out here until I smell a familiar scent.
I'm not sure. Could it be Luna?
I followed the scent a few meters away from my place.
I am about to reach the place when I heard movements in the bush and it was running away from me.
It's not an enemy nor a rogue. It could be another wolf.
I followed it, it was running fast. I need to double my speed to reach for that wolf.
I stopped, the wolf was gone. I haven't seen it but I know it was a wolf. My wolf was struggling inside me, he wants to look for that wolf.
Maybe it was another wolf from another pack. I turned around, I am completely alone in this forest, I couldn't hear anyone or anything.
I pushed my wolf to go back to the camp. I still need to rest. I need to prepare for the war.
I went back to the camp. Inside my tent, I looked for some decent clothes. I found a pair of pants and a white V-neck shirt. I saw my bed, and it was inviting me to lie down once again.
"Alpha!" I heard Stefan calling for my name. I sighed.
"Come in. What now?"
"Sorry to disturb you. But the alpha of the Blazing flame pack wants to talk to you. He is Enrico. He is with his beta name Ridge." Stefan said.
"Please let them come in."
I saw a man in his late 50s and a man who I think has the same age as me.
"Alpha, can we have time with you? We just need to discuss something," Enrico spoke.
As I look at him, his face seems familiar. Maybe I saw him somewhere before but I can't remember. Especially the shape of his eyes, it seems I've seen those eyes before.
"Yes, Enrico. Sure, what is that?"
"My pack has been hiding in the mountains for many years. We've been afraid of Lucas and his army. We are here for revenge. We want to end his tyranny." Enrico added.
"We have the same goal. We are here for revenge. Revenge for all lives that have been affected and ruined because of Lucas' family." I recalled.
"We developed a vaccine for werewolves. Our fighters are using it, for them to have a much higher level of strength. And we like this to offer to your pack and the rest of the pack. This will be a great help, especially now that we are about to fight hundreds of enemies," he offered.
"A vaccine. How did you create it? What formula did you use?" I wonder how they did this.
It took Enrico a few seconds before he was able to respond.
"My pack is capable of creating this kind of vaccine. They studied it for many years. Our pack was known for creating werewolf medicines, even during ancient times," he blurted.
"Let me see this vaccine. I need to let it check first. My cousin is a doctor. I will show it to him first." I will let Ryan check this one. I need to make sure that this vaccine will really work.
"Here is the vial. You can check this one," Enrico gave me the vial.
"Thank you, Enrico. Thank you for coming," he shook my hand before they left.
I look closely at the vial. If this can really add strength to werewolves, then the content must be very special.
I stood up and went to Ryan's tent. He was busy yesterday with his team preparing the medicines and the kits for the war. In case there will be werewolves who will get hurt, they will move to treat the wounds.
"Ryan, I need your help. Can you check this vial? It contains a medicine that will help werewolves gain strength. Enrico, the alpha of the Blazing flame pack gave this to me," I explained.
"Alright, let me check. Did you ask them the formulas they used to form this vaccine?"
"Yes, but he didn't give me a specific list of ingredients they used,"
My cousin took some samples from the vial and examined them using his microscope.
I sat on the chair beside his table and waited for him to finish.
I need to give this vaccine a try.
It took Ryan almost 30 minutes before he finished. He was sweating when he turned to me.
It seems he found something strange in the medicine.
"Ryan, what is it?" I moved closer to him.
"Hector, this vaccine. The content is so much the same as Luna's blood," he revealed.
"What do you mean? They used Luna's blood to create this vaccine?" my heart beats fast. I want to know the truth.
"I can't be wrong Hector. They used Luna's blood." Ryan continued.
"Inject this vaccine into my body!" I gave a command.
My cousin just nodded and followed my command.
The moment he injected the medicine, I felt a different kind of sensation running in my veins. It was definitely true, the sensation is the same as Luna's blood running within me. I am sure, it is my mate’s blood. I stood up and stormed outside the tent. I looked for Enrico and found him talking to another alpha. I lunged towards him squeezing his neck. I am furious. Enrico looked at me with shock. All other alpha's remained in their place.
I gave Enrico an angry look.
"Where is she? Where is Luna?"
