HECTOR POV

I felt irritated after what my uncle told me. An alpha can never have a human mate. Luna is my everything, I can leave everything behind for her. Even the throne for the Alpha, it's useless without her by my side.

I don't care about the fuckin' council rule. I need to be the alpha of the Black tooth Guardians pack, this is the only way I can protect Luna.

I took a deep breath. I know Luna was hurt, I can see it in her eyes.

I also don't like how my uncle treated her earlier.

I told her to wait for me in the garden. The attendants prepared some food for her. I hope she will enjoy the food and the view of the garden as well.

I was left with my uncle on the balcony. He invited me to drink wine with him and have a one-on-one conversation with him.

"She is your mate Hector, and we can't change that. You can have her. But you can never marry her. It will be against the rule." my uncle Emmanuel made it clear.

"I will never ever marry anyone, aside from her uncle," I told him.

"That can't be Hector. You can marry Jasmine so our packs will unite and we will be stronger. You can make Luna your woman anyway," he explained.

"That's too hard uncle. I will break her heart if I will do that," I continued.

"I know she is special. Her blood can give you power. It will make you the strongest alpha in your generation Hector. But she can't be your wife," my uncle added.

"Uncle, let's not talk about it for now. We need to fix a lot of things first," I said.

He sighed as he took a sip of the wine.

"Alright, if that's what you want. You need to prepare now Hector. We will crown you like the new Alpha tomorrow night," he told me.

I nodded as I looked away.

After that talk with my uncle, I hurriedly went downstairs. I want to go to her. I want to be by her side.

I met Francis and Stefan in the living room.

"Hey man. I think Luna was hurt." Stefan said as he approached me.

"I know. That Alpha rule was a shit," I answered.

"Luna was there in the garden and she was alone. I think you need to do something to make her feel comfortable," Francis gave an idea.

"Yeah I know, I will go there and give her a sweet hug. Maybe that would help lessen the burden," I told them.

"No Hector. That was very common already," Francis replied.

"Ok, maybe I need to kiss her instead," I told them.

"Can you think of something more special and unique?" Stefan suggested.

"Can you two just tell me your idea? Stop going around the bush. You know I am not used to this kind. I never tried to please women in my life" I smirked.

"We know that. But it's different with Luna now. Why don't you give her a flower?" Francis spoke.

"Oh, yes. Flower. Maybe I should call someone to bring a bouquet of flowers now." I said as I grabbed my phone looking for some delivery services.

"That would take much time Hector. Your uncle has a big garden outside. Why don't you pick a flower and bring it to her now," Stefan said as he pats me on my back laughing with Francis.

I was stunned. They left me as they went upstairs to have some rest.

I massage my forehead, this is crazy. This is the first time I will give a woman a flower. And then I need to pick the flower from the garden.

Which one should I pick? I asked myself as I went outside.

Actually, there are lots of different flowers in this garden. I can't even decide. My eyes caught the red roses on a flower pot.

But I thought to myself, it was already common. I need to look for something unique and different.

Being in a relationship with Jasmine for years, I never did this to her. Even asking her for a date or dinner in a restaurant, I never did. She liked me from the very first time we met. And I was attracted to her body that is why I followed my father's suggestion to court her and planned to marry her. My father also wanted our pack to unite with their pack. Every time we meet before, we just end up fucking each other and that's it. If she was not around, I will invite another woman into my bed to pleasure me.

But with Luna here as my mate, everything has changed.

I tried to walk around the garden until I saw a unique flower on one side. It was a deep orange flower and it was beautiful.

The gardener was on the opposite side so I took the opportunity to ask him about the flower.

"Ahm, excuse me. What is the name of this flower," I asked?

"Hello, sir. Oh, that's an Epiphyllum. It's actually a hybrid orchid cactus and it's the first time that it blooms," he explained to me.

"Can you tell me more about this flower?" I told him.

"It typically opens at night but often lasts well through the next day. It is very rare. It only blooms once in three years. Do you like it sir?" he inquired.

"Yes, may I have it?" I think this is a perfect flower to give to my mate.

"Sure sir, let me help you," the gardener said as he pick the flower and gave it to me.

It was beautiful up close. I hope Luna will like it. She is like this flower, as she is someone that is hard to find, very unique and beautiful.

I thank the gardener and went to Luna. She was in the middle of the garden, alone and sitting on a bench.

She was staring at the flowers around her. She was very beautiful. She was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. And I loved her so much.

"Luna, baby," I called for her as she turned to look at me. Her eyes were so beautiful.

I kissed her on her lips and gave her the flower. To be honest, I felt nervous.

"Thank you, Hector, this is beautiful," her smile was so captivating.

"I love you, Luna. I want you to always remember that," I said.

"I know Hector, and I love you too. I am just worried after what your uncle said earlier," she continued.

"Don't mind him. You will be the woman whom I will marry. No one can stop that," I assured her.

She just nodded and moved closer to hug me.

We were enjoying the moment in the garden here in each other’s arms when one of my uncle's men came.

"Hector, your uncle called for you." he was panting hard.

"Why, what happened?" I asked.

"The rogues were attacking our land. We need you," he replied.
