Chapter 34

LUNA POV

I was terrified knowing there were rogues outside my home. I held Hector's arm. It can't be. They found us so easily.

"Hector, what are we going to do now?" I can hear my own voice trembling.

"Don't be afraid Luna. I am here to protect you," I can see he was determined to fight the rogues outside my house.

We tried to look outside from my window, our eyes caught movements. It is not just one or two rogues. They are many.

It was dark outside, but we could see them with the help of the street light. My neighbors would surely freak out the moment they will see big wild dogs outside the house.

I tried to compose myself. I don't want Hector to fight them. He is alone and the rogues are many.

"Hector, please don't fight them. Let's think about how to escape," I convinced him.

"No Luna, we can't escape. We were surrounded and outnumbered. They will try to break into the house to get you. I am sure of that. I need to fight them. I need to protect you." he replied.

I swallowed hard. I was about to respond to him when I heard the sound of the doorbell.

"Who's that?" I asked Hector.

"Werewolves can't push the button with their claws. I think it was a messenger," he said.

Hector approached the door and I was left behind him.

He opened the door to see a man in a black suit. It was the same person I saw who went to the mansion when Matilda was killed.

Now it makes sense, those men were Lucas' men. They killed Matilda.

My hands balled into fists.

"What do you need?" Hector asked the man.

"You were being surrounded. Do you want to fight all the rogues outside? They are waiting for you Hector." the man said.

"I will fight them just to ensure that my mate would be safe," Hector replied.

"Don't worry, we are not here to fight you or to hurt Luna. We are here to give you a warning and to give you an invitation," the man said as he turned to look at me.

"What invitation is that?" Hector asked.

"The Madfur Claws pack Alpha, Lucas wants to invite you to fight him. It is a fight between you and him. A fight for Luna's blood." I saw the man smirk. He was a devil as their alpha.

"No Hector, I will not let you fight him." I was worried something bad will happen to my mate if they fight each other.

"Luna, it’s alright," he answered.

"If you will win over Lucas, Luna will be free. But if not, she needs to marry our alpha. You cannot say no to the invitation, or else your friends would die," the man said as he threw a photo in front of us.

My eyes went wide as I tried to look at the photo. It was Francis and Stefan in the picture, tied in chains and bath in blood.

I placed my hand on my mouth as I saw their condition. They are badly hurt and their lives were in danger. It was just yesterday when they came to the cabin to warn me and Hector. And now, they were in Lucas' hands.

I turned to look at Hector. His jaw was clenching. I know how angry he was. Knowing his friends were in danger.

"Here are the details for the fight tomorrow Hector." the man gave him a white envelope and left. As the man left with his car, all the rogues slowly disappeared. So, they came just to threaten us.

"What are we going to do now Hector," I asked him as he reads the message on the paper.

"I will accept his invitation, Luna. I need to fight him. I need to defeat him just to save you," he said as he gave me a hug.

I was lost for words, I can't allow him to do that. I remember how Lucas defeated and killed his three brothers. I don't want him to die.

"It's alright baby, don't worry. I am strong, I am a fighter. I can handle him. Remember, I have the alpha blood. I can defeat him," he assured me.

"Hector, I will be by your side no matter what. We will get through all of these together," I said as I kissed his cheeks.

It was a cloudy day the next morning. We woke up before the sunrise.

We need to be in the grassland area before nine. Hector agreed to fight Lucas in a grassland area here in Ashland.

There were no people in that place, it was away from the houses and the road.

I hate the idea of Hector fighting that crazy alpha, but we need to save his friends.

We rode a BMW car that Hector bought just this morning. He was very rich. Imagine, he can just buy a very expensive car in an instant.

We arrived at the place just in time, the grassland was an open and fairly flat area of grass. The wind blows and the grass dances with the wind's tune.

From a distance, I saw a black car. On the other side, there was Lucas, waiting for us with his hands in his pocket.

He was wearing a simple V-neck shirt and dark blue pants. It is as if, he was just waiting for the arrival of his friends. Just calm and feeling cool.

He might be handsome, but I want to punch that handsome face he got.

"Nice to see you, love," he said as if he was so happy to see me. He was disgusting. He was a demon, I don’t want to remember how he tried to own my body when I was in his house. I want to vomit as I remember how he kissed me forcibly.

"Where are my friends?" Hector directly asked him.

"Over there Hector, inside the car. Sleeping and resting. I think their body was so tired from the torture last night," he proudly said.

I saw Hector's chest move as he breathed with full anger. I know he can't stand the sufferings that Francis and Stefan were experiencing. This all happens because of me.

"Fight me Alpha. If I win over you, free Luna and my friends," Hector said.

"Yes, Hector. A promise is a promise. This is an alpha promise. I will not break it," he responded.

Both of them walked to the center of the place. The fight will begin soon. And I will be here watching my mate fight the Alpha enemy. Tears started to form in my eyes. I will never let something happens to the man I love.

Hector and Lucas shift to their wolf form. Lucas's wolf was bigger than Hector's wolf. I felt so scared. I believe that my mate is strong, but is his strength enough to defeat Lucas?
