Chapter 44

HECTOR POV

The door burst open. Horror filled my senses as I saw Luna standing at the door looking at us. She was so shocked to see me pinning Jasmine on the bed and we are both naked.

Her expression changed to anger. I swallowed hard, she had misunderstood us. This is not good.

Her face is red and her hands are balled into fists. I immediately get up to approach her. I don't care if I'm naked.

"Baby, let me explain," this is the first time I felt scared like this. I don't want her to be angry or lose her trust in me.

"No need to explain Hector. Did I interrupt you?" she was furious.

"I and Jasmine are actually fighting. And..." I was about to continue but Jasmine interrupted.

"We are fighting in bed actually," she said.

"Shut up, you are drunk Jasmine. You shift in your wolf form and tried to fight me and so I fought you back. That's the reason we are naked," I exclaimed.

She rolled her eyes and went back to bed. She is really getting on my nerves. She's been drinking a lot early tonight right after the ceremony. I know she can't take what happened during the ceremony. She just came to the stage to kiss me in front of my pack members. My uncle announced to everyone that she was my soon-to-be wife. Of course, I don't want to humiliate her in front of everyone so I remained quiet.

I turned to look at Luna who started to cry in front of me. I was shocked to see her crying. I tried to move closer to hug her but she avoided my touch and ran away from me.

I think I hurt her feelings. She was wrong. It was not what she was thinking.

"Luna, wait for me. Please listen to me," I called for her name.

I followed her to our room. She looks devastated after what she saw.

I reached for the closet and wear decent pants and a shirt. This is all Jasmine's fault.

She kept drinking and drinking when I made it clear in front of his father during the dinner that there will be no wedding. We will remain friends.

I even told my uncle that I will face the consequence of marrying my mate. I made my decision and I told everyone that I will marry Luna.

And now, here I am begging her to believe me.

"Luna, stop crying and listen to me," I said as I approached her.

"You are a womanizer. She is your ex- fiancé. Then I will see both of you naked in a room. What should I think?" he yelled.

"Luna, this will go nowhere. Please believe me. Nothing happened. She was drunk. I thought she had already gone home with her Dad. But she was still here in the mansion, yelling at the attendants earlier. So I let her stay in one of the guest rooms. I went inside, and she immediately shifts into her wolf form and attacked me. So I shift too, just to stop her. She shift back to her human form but she still tried to fight back so I pinned her down pushing her on the bed," I explained.

"I saw her kissing you during the ceremony. I was there Hector," she said.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't able to avoid that kiss. I didn't expect she would do that. I don't want to humiliate her," I replied.

"Stop explaining yourself. I feel so stressed. I don't want to listen to your explanations anymore. You are the new alpha of your pack. You have so much responsibility. Including your responsibility to please her." she cried.

"Luna, you know that I don't love her. It is you that I love. I already made it clear during the dinner, that I will not marry her. That's why she gets drunk." I continued.

Luna didn't answer back. Instead, she lay down on the bed with his back on me.

I sighed as I massaged my temple. I was so stressed today. From the ceremony up to now. Being the alpha is not a joke. I have so many problems to solve, now I need to look into this problem.

I approached her in the bed to kiss the back of her head.

"Luna, I want you to know how much I love you. I love you more than my life. Always remember that," I told her.

She didn't answer. I think she is still angry.

I decided to give her some space. I slowly went out of the room. The attendant came.

"Alpha, lady Jasmine is sleeping now," she said.

"Ok, please look into her. If she wakes up, tell her to go home to their house. I don't want her staying in my mansion for too long," I gave an instruction.

The attendant nodded and went back to the room where Jasmine was staying.

Jasmine is a real headache. I hope she will accept sooner than we can ever be. I was meant to be with my mate. And she can't stop that.

I went to the balcony to breathe fresh air. It was still dark outside.

Stefan and Francis were there laughing while drinking wines.

"Hey man. Come and join us. Let's have fun while waiting for the sunrise," Stefan invited me.

"Thanks." as I reached for the glass.

"You look worried and problematic?" Francis teased.

"Obviously yes, it's Luna. She was...well jealous and angry at the same time," I told them.

Stefan patted my shoulder.

"She loves you. She was afraid to lose you, Hector. Women are like that. They are jealous all the time. You need to think about how to fix her broken heart," he said.

"It's all Jasmine's fault. She kept on insisting on that marriage. She even convinced the council to help her persuade me to continue the marriage," I took a sip of the wine.

"Are you ready to face the consequence when you marry your mate?" Stefan asked.

"Yes, I am ready. I will fight the rules and the council. I will stand for my decision," I said in a firm voice.

"If that's the case, Hector, then you need to do what should be done," Francis said.

I looked at him with brows furrowed. I was a little confused.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked.

Francis laugh and approached me. Between him and Stefan, he was the best when it comes to giving advice. So I will really trust whatever his advice would be.

"Hector, I think tomorrow is the day," he said.

"Spit it out, men. Don't make the new alpha wait," Stefan interrupted as they both burst into laughter.

"Hector, tomorrow is the day. Propose and ask Luna to marry you," he said.
