Chapter 24

LUNA POV

Hector told me that Simon King his father was waiting for us in the sand and stone garden.

As we got closer, I could see an abstracted scene of the Japanese landscape, with mountains represented by upright boulders and an expanse of coarse white sand. I can see a man standing facing the moon. I know it was him, Simon king.

I am starting to be scared as hell, I can feel the danger that was about to happen tonight.

I remember Lucas, he told me that Hector's family is the real enemy and I need to protect myself tonight.

"Luna, don't worry. My father will help you. Trust me." Hector spoke beside me.

"Hector, I am scared," I said softly.

"Don't be afraid Luna, we are here to help you," he said.

As we approached the Sand and stone garden, his father sensed that we arrived.

He turned with a smile on his face. I can see he was in his late 50s. The light of the moon helped me see that his hair started to turn grey but he was still handsome. He looks like Hector and Drake. They are a family of good-looking people.

"I am so proud of you son. You were able to bring her safely to me," Simon told Hector as he patted him on his shoulder.

His eyes darted toward me, and I started to feel the creepy feeling within me.

"I am so happy to see you, Luna. I've been expecting you," he said with a smirk.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. King," I am so scared to talk to him.

"Finally, your best son is here, father." I heard someone speak on our left.

I saw three men approaching and I recognized one of them. It was Drake, Hector's half-brother. He was with two other handsome men. They all look handsome and similar.

"Hi Luna, it was nice to see you again," Drake said with a playful smile.

"You already met my brother, Luna?" Hector asked me.

"Yes Hector, I met him yesterday at the hotel," I almost mumble.

"By the way Luna, these are my brothers, Maxell and Frederick." Drake introduced the two men on his side.

I nodded and gave them a smile.

"Alright, so my dearest brother Hector made it. Congratulations!" said Frederick as he claps his hands.

I know deep inside he was not happy. I can see it in their faces. I looked up to Hector, his jaw clenched. I can see anger in his eyes. I remember a conversation before between Hector and his friends that his brothers are doing everything to stop him from succeeding in the mission.

I would not be surprised anymore, they are after the throne. They must be very angry now, knowing Hector will be the next alpha on their pack.

"Alright, let's not waste our time. The moon is about to reach its fullest form." Simon King said.

"Luna, I need to go now. You and my Father should stay here. He will tell you everything," he said as he squeezed my hand.

"Please don't leave me here Hector, I'm so afraid," I can hear my voice trembling.

"I will just be outside the main gate Luna. I will be back to get you after the ceremony," he assured me.

"Ceremony? What do you mean?" I asked him.

"It was a ceremony that would benefit you and our pack," he responded.

He tried to let go of my hand but I don't want to.

"Hector please, don't go." I pleaded. I felt tears in my eyes. Hector looked me in the eyes. I can see his worried face. He turned to his father and said, "Father Can I stay here while the ceremony is ongoing?"

"No son. I only need Luna. Please don't try to disobey me, son. Remember, your mission is done. You will get what you want after this. So please go." Simon gave a command.

Hector swallowed and looked at me.

"I will be back Luna, I promise," he said.

Tears fell from my eyes as he let go of my hand. He is leaving me because his mission was over. He started to leave, together with his other brothers but his eyes never left mine.

As I looked at him, I can see his crystal eyes and his face clearly with the help of the moonlight. He was so handsome. I felt a different kind of connection as I looked at him beneath the light of the moon. His gaze was like a magnet, as he walked away, I can also feel half of myself walking away from the other half. I can't explain this kind of feeling.

HECTOR POV

I really don't want to leave her in that garden with my father. But, I trust my father so much. Father made a promise that she would help Luna. From the day my father gave me a mission to look after her and protect her from the enemies, I knew there was something in her. The first time I lay my eyes on her, I knew she was special. I've seen a lot of beautiful women in my life, and I bed all of them. But Luna, she was different. I really want to have her as I always do with other women but I can't.

From the day my father asked me to bring Luna to him, he never told me the real reason. He just always says that he needs Luna in his ceremony to save Luna's life and to save our pack. I always made sure to protect her, not just because my father told me so, but because I felt the urge to protect her. I've been following her for months. I saw her one time with her best friend going to a cafe, then after a few minutes, I saw her running out of the cafe' with her best friend trying to stop her. I came to know that her best friend sets up a blind date for her. I came to know that she never had a boyfriend since then.

I enjoyed looking at her from outside of their house or when she played with her dog. I saw how broken she was when her brother was found dead. I knew the enemy did that. The enemy killed her brother. I always followed her on the street and into the city library. I don't understand why I always love to look at her beautiful face, her sweet smile, and her glowing eyes. She is like an angel so precious and rare. I would always wish to taste her lips and touch her lovely face.

I want her to be mine, that I even had wet dreams with her. I can't take the idea that she was in my house that is why I invited women to pleasure me, at least to forget the need to claim her.

Now, I was forced to leave Luna behind. I felt her hand tremble in fear. My heart was breaking into pieces as I saw tears rolling in her eyes. My father made it clear that my mission was over, I needed to stay away as the ceremony began.

I took a deep breath as I looked up at the sky.

The pink moon shines so bright illuminating the vast sky. I turned to look at her before the gate closes. I saw her face clearly, to my surprise I felt a different kind of feeling. A feeling I can't explain.

I felt the connection as I look at her, I throw a final gaze and I was so sure now.

The connection I have for her makes sense.

I can feel the bond between us slowly grow like a fire inside.

As the moon shines in its complete form, my wolf howls inside me.

My wolf calling for her name.

Luna... Luna is my mate.
