Chapter 16

LUNA POV

I felt the warm blanket wrapped around my body, I tried to open my eyes and saw a glimpse of light that greeted me through the opening of this cave. The light hurts my eyes making it difficult for me to see my surroundings casting the shadows.

"Hector! Hector!" I called his name but I got no response.

"Where could he be?" I asked myself.

I remember last night, how he took care of me. It means a lot to me. From being my kidnapper maybe, to being my savior. Riding on his back feels so good and the way he hugged me last night was like heaven. I felt comfortable in his arms. I think, I even dreamt of him last night saying "I love you to me". Well, that was a nice dream, how I wish that could be real.  I felt my face flush red.

I tried to get up, but my body still aches after that fever last night. But I feel a little better now. I reached for my clothes to dress up. I can't believe it, I've been naked the whole night with the only blanket covering my body.

The breeze was calming as I went out of the cave. The trees are dancing with the wind and the fragrance of flowers creates a sweet smell in the air.

I was mesmerized by the beauty of nature as always. I would love to spend time watching the enchanting beauty of the surrounding. My eyes caught a movement on the other side to see Hector emerging from the woods carrying some fruits. I heard the rumbling sound of my stomach as he approached. He just looks at me as if scanning my face.

"Hi, Hector, good morning," I gave him a sweet smile. I just felt happy as I see him early in the morning.

"Good to see that you are fine now. Here, eat some fruit. You need to gain strength. We need to go somewhere today." he told me.

I just reached for the fruits and started eating as I sat on a big rock in front of the cave. I also saw him eating some fruits. The bananas in my mouth are delicious. This is the sweetest banana I've ever tasted. I also saw some apples and berries. These fruits are perfect for my hungry stomach.

"Hector, Thank you for last night. I might have died in this forest if not because of you," I felt so ashamed. I'm sure, he can see my face blushing now.

"It's nothing Luna. It was my mission and responsibility to protect you," he responds to me with a serious tone.

"Where are Stefan and Francis?" I asked him. I remember how they fought with the Alpha last night. I hope they are fine. I awe them a lot.

"Francis was badly hurt, he and Stefan were in my cousin's house now. Luckily, they were able to escape before other werewolves arrived last night," he said.

I froze in my seat, Francis was badly hurt. I felt worried and scared.

"Francis needs to be brought to the hospital Hector, I think we need to go to him, and let's bring him to the hospital," I pleaded.

"Don't worry Luna, my cousin is a doctor. He can treat Francis. He was good at dealing with werewolf wounds," he assured me.

I saw him stand and went back inside the cave. I felt sad knowing that other people get their lives in danger because of me. I hope to meet Hector's father soon. I have so many things to ask him.

Hector went out of the cave.

"Luna, we need to go now," he said.

"Where are we going this time?" I need to know.

"We will go to a safe place, I know the enemies are after us," he answered.

"By the way Hector, I am worried about Matilda. I left him alone in the mansion as a group of men arrived. I heard gunshots and I don't know what happened to her." I felt my misty eyes forming tears.

"Don't worry Luna, my men will check the mansion. I know they knew now what happened. Matilda will be safe. For now, let's keep going," he said as he started to shift.

Riding on his wolf's back feels so good. I wonder how he can handle my weight and can still run so fast. We passed through huge trees and a clearing field with purple and yellow flowers. I should feel scared by this time. But with Hector on my side, I know nothing bad will happen to me. As much as I don't want to, I am starting to trust this man. It is not yet clear, why they need me, but I felt the need to trust him.

We arrived at a place where a red car and a black car is waiting. Two men were standing, and one of them started to wave his hand at us.

"Hector, so nice to see both of you safe," one of the men said as he approached us.

He patted Hector on the shoulder as he gave him clothes.

"Thank you, Zed," Hector called the man Zed.

"I and Lloyd will look into other things. We will assure you that we will track them. They are getting furious each day." I saw Zed's serious look.

His eyes landed on me and smiled at me.

"Luna and You can stay there for a while Hector. No one knows that place, anyway," Zed told Hector as he gave the key.

Hector nodded and invited me to come inside the car. I looked back at the two men to give them a thank you smile.

I turned to see Hector as he started to drive the car in a place that I don't know.

On the road, he didn't even dare to talk to me. His expression was serious. It was just last night when he was so nice and caring. And now, he went back to being rude and uncaring.

After almost an hour, we arrived in a small town. There are few houses and some stores on the road. I can see some people walking, living a simple life. I missed my life back in Ashland.

We arrived at a small hotel. A man guides us into one of the rooms. I scanned the place, it was just a small room, with a single bed. I can see the view of the mountain from the big window and the curtains that dances with the wind. There was a bathroom door on the other side and a flat-screen TV that reflects the bed.

I saw the man give Hector the room's key as he left us alone in the room. I swallowed hard thinking that we are in one room. I remember Elli, she told me before that she and his boyfriend would love to go to hotel rooms and spend the night together. She said, that this is what couples usually do if they want to enjoy and do something else. My face is burning thinking about it. I turned to see Hector open the closet to get some clothes and a towel.

With great courage I tried to ask him, "Ahm, Hector, will I stay in this room too?" I saw him turn to look at me with a confused look.

"Of course Luna, You will stay here. And you will sleep with me in bed," he said.

My eyes went wide as I heard those words. What? I am going to sleep with him in bed?
