I kept silent until we reached our room. I don't want to say anything after Emmanuel spoke about the dinner to talk about Hector's marriage with Jasmine. I felt so small thinking I am just human and I could never be Hector's wife.

Hector held my hand as we return to our room. He told me that the wedding would never happen. He would make that clear in tomorrow's gathering.

"Luna, baby. Look at me. Please, don't worry. The wedding would never happen. I don't love Jasmine. It is you that I love." he assured me.

"I hope so Hector. But..." I was about to continue when Hector interrupted.

"Luna, tomorrow I will be the next alpha of our pack. I want you to be there. I want everyone to see that you are my mate. And I'm so happy and proud to have you." he said.

Stefan might be waiting for me in the living room.

I slowly went down the stairs. I was surprised to see a man standing in the living room. It was not Stefan. It was Emmanuel.

He turned to look me directly in the eye. I can't read his expression.

I swallowed. I felt nervous to see him.

"Luna, you look beautiful," he said.

"Thank you," I felt nervous talking to him.

"Are you planning to go to the ceremony?" he asked.

I just nodded.

"Sorry but you can't go," he told me.

I was stunned by his words.

"Why can't I go?" I inquired.

"Because humans were not invited. You stay here and wait till the ceremony finish," he replied.

"But Hector is expecting me," I answered back.

"If you will go, the council members will see you. They will not like to see Hector with a human mate. You will just put your mate in a hot water," he warned me.

I felt tears forming in my eyes.

"You are his mate. That would never change. But you need to know your limitations. You cannot go beyond the line," he said as he left me in the living room.

I watched him disappear as he went out the door.

He went to the car waited for him outside and left. The ceremony will start in a few minutes.

My hands balled into fists. I need to go to Hector. I don't care about Emmanuel. I still need to be there.

I immediately went out of the house. I saw a few attendants around but I don't care if they see me walking going to the venue.

The venue is just a walking distance from the mansion. I don't care if my feet will get tired after walking. What's important is that I will get there and be with my mate.

I walked for almost 20 minutes. I felt pain in my feet. The heels really suck.

I breathe allowing fresh air to come in. There are a lot of people in the open area. I tried to blend with other people. I just need to act normal so the guards won't notice me.

People started to cheer. I need to go to the center. I need to see Hector.

I am with the crowd of people as Hector and Emmanuel stood in the middle of the stage.

"Black tooth Guardians, meet your new alpha!" Emmanuel raised Hector's right hand.

The people cheered with joy. I saw the councils clapping their hands.

I am so happy for my mate.

Emmanuel gave his nephew a hug. On the other side of the stage, Jasmine emerged wearing a white long gown.

He approached Hector and wrapped her arms around her neck to kiss him.

My eyes went wide seeing my mate kissed by another woman. The crowd cheered.

"The alpha and her soon-to-be wife," Emmanuel said to the crowd.
