Chapter 68

LUNA POV

I still can't believe I could see and talk to my wolf. Thanks to Ridge. He is a big help to me. 

It's now late in the evening, everybody is still wide awake. The elders of the pack hold a celebration for the return of my father to their pack. I felt so happy to see my father and other pack members enjoying the night.

Ridge sat beside me as we both looked at the fire in the center. 

"Do you like it here Luna?" he asked.

I took a sip of the hot tea before I turned to him.

"Yes, Ridge. The people are very welcoming. Thank you for helping me," I said with a smile.

He also gave me a smile. 

"My dad said you are a good fighter Ridge, I hope you can also teach me some technique," 

"Of course Luna. I will be glad to teach you everything I know. We need to enhance your skills," he assured.

I nodded. I felt excited to start with the proper training.

"Luna, remember. When you start the training, always focus on your goal. If you might encounter situations where you will lose hope, please think of inspiration, then try to pull the strength from there," he explained.

I was amazed at his words. He was good at giving advice.

"I will Ridge. I am looking forward to learning more, thank you for everything," he just smiles and his eyes sparkle.

People are busy talking with each other. They were eating and drinking. Dad is also busy talking to other werewolves. I was left sitting with Ridge as we both stare at the people around us.

The night was so cold and peaceful when suddenly we heard a loud howl from the distance.

Ridge immediately stood up and he was in a panic. I looked around, everyone was on alert.

Dad approached Ridge, he was clearly in a panic too.

"What is happening, what is that?" I want to know what that was. Is that a warning?

"Luna, go back to the tree house, now!" my dad gave me a command.

"Why Dad?"

"There are enemies around us, they found us! Hurry!”

I followed my dad’s instructions and went to the tree house.

I went up immediately but as I looked down again, I heard the cracking sound of bones which was an indication that the werewolves had shifted.

I heard another loud howl and the werewolves from our packs run to the sound.

The women run and hide somewhere with their kids. I just stayed at the entrance door of the tree house. I'm not that coward to hide.

I heard many growls coming. 

"Wait! I'm far from them but it seems that I can hear the noises even from a distance. Wow! This is something new. I may have the senses of the wolf." I told myself.

I can even smell the metallic scent of the blood which means that a fight has just begun.

I heard a little boy crying asking for help and it was just near me.

I went down the tree house. I don't care if my dad will be angry for disobeying his command but I need to check on that little boy.

I scanned the small village and found the boy sitting on the ground. He was clearly scared of something. I ran towards him and found a rogue aiming for the boy.

The boy didn't move and remained in place. The rogue was about to attack the boy when I shouted,

"No!"

It turned to look in my direction. The rogue was furious as its sharp teeth glistens with pure anger.

I swallowed hard as I started to feel nervous.

I reached for a stone and throw it aiming for the werewolf. But it was useless, the stone was nothing to him.

It started to move closer to me. His look was like teasing me.

I am vulnerable right now. I don't know how to shift or even to call for my wolf. I hope someone would come to save me. But everyone was busy fighting with other rogues.

The boy cried again. He was so scared. The rogue turned to look at the boy then at me. I can't even say what he was thinking.

The rogue focused on the boy.

Oh, no. I think he will attack the boy first.

This could not be. I will never allow the rogue to hurt the little boy.

No one should be hurt. I need to protect the boy.

The rogue run towards the boy ready to kill the innocent one.

I moved forward as I shouted "No!"

I heard my voice and another voice becoming one.

I pounced on the rogue and hit his head with my attack.

I was so angry and I used my claw to cut the rogue's skin. I didn't wait anymore for it to stand up or breathe. I just use my sharp teeth to bite his neck and rip out his throat. I tasted blood for the first time. I felt triumph seeing the rogue fall to the ground lifeless.

I turned to look at the boy. Thank God he was just fine. He was looking shocked and stunned. As if the little boy was scanning my body.

"Wow, what a beautiful white wolf. This is the first time I saw a beautiful wolf like you," he uttered the words.

I didn't move for a while. What? White wolf?

I looked down at my feet. I don't have two feet but rather four legs and a tail.

What the? I can't believe it.

I was able to shift. I did it.

"Congratulations Luna, you made it. We are now one."

I once heard the voice in my mind. I want to jump and celebrate. 

I went closer to the boy. He was pleased to touch my fur.

Dad and the rest came to check on us.

Dad shifts to his human form again. He was stunned to see me in my wolf form.

His jaw dropped and he didn't speak for a few seconds. He just remained to stare at me.

"Wow, Luna. I can't believe what I am seeing. My daughter, you finally shift!" 

"Yes dad," I talked to him through the mind link.

Ridge came also and walked closer to me.

"Luna, do you want to run with me in the woods?" he invited me.

"Yes, but is it safe now?" after the attack earlier, I don't know if it's safe to go in the woods.

"It's safe now Luna. We will not go out of the perimeter," he said.

“Go, Luna. It was all clear now. The six rogues were dead. Aside from them, there were none already. So it’s safe now,”

My dad approved and so I went with him into the woods in our wolf form.

It's so nice to run in the woods with my four feet. I can run faster and quickly. I can smell everything and hear every single sound.

It is like I found freedom. I felt complete with my wolf.

I was able to kill the rogue a while ago. I'm no longer weak. I can be a strong werewolf. 

"Hector, wait for me. I am coming back soon. You will soon witness the new me,"
