Chapter 61

LUNA POV

I can't believe what I just discovered, Enrico is a werewolf. I almost fainted when I saw him shift to his human form.

I am sitting on the couch at the moment as I drink a glass of water. Mrs. Fox calmed me down after I freaked out.

I don't know why they hide it from me. I am used to seeing werewolves in the first place and my mate was an alpha werewolf.

"When are you planning to tell me the truth Mrs. Fox?" she is sitting beside me.

"We are waiting for the right time Luna. I'm sorry for this," she apologized.

Enrico came in and joined us in the living room. She looks so serious.

"Where do you think you are trying to go Luna? It was too dangerous outside. The enemies are looking for you. If I didn't come on time, you may be dead by this time," he said.

"I want to look for my mate. I want to know how he is and if he's alright. I heard you and Mrs. Fox talking in the kitchen. I know something bad happened to him," I replied.

"You should have talked to us. We can help you. But you decided to do it on your own Luna," I can sense that he was angry just by the tone of his voice.

"I want to go back to my mate. Thank you for helping me Enrico but I think, it is time for me to go," I want to leave this place and be with my mate.

"You can't go to him, Luna. It is dangerous," he is trying to convince me.

"Hector is my mate. He can protect me," Hector has been my savior and my protector. He is capable to protect me.

"He cannot protect you all the time Luna," he told me.

I got furious, is he trying to stop me from going back to my mate? I know I am just human. I am weak, but my mate can be my shield.

"Enrico, I may be a human and vulnerable but my mate can take good care of me," I told him.

Mrs. Fox interrupted and said " Dear, I think we should make a plan first before going to your mate,"

"No, Betty. She is not ready to go back,"

I was stunned by his words. I am not ready to go back? But I'm already well and my body recovered already.

"I'm feeling better now Enrico. I am ready to go back."

"You can never go back to your mate anymore Luna," this time he stood up.

"Why?" I want to know the reason.

"Because Hector is getting married to Jasmine. And you cannot do anything to stop that!" he revealed.

I felt a stabbing pain in my chest as he told me that. That is not true, Hector will never do that.

"What are saying? Do you think I will believe you," I felt my eyes water with tears?

"Enrico..." Mrs. Fox tried to say something but Enrico stopped her.

"I am telling the truth, Luna. Hector needs to make his pack stronger. That is why he is getting married to Jasmine to unite their packs against Lucas." he explained.

I shook my head. I will never believe this man in front of me.

"I don't know what you are up to Enrico, but I will never believe you."

"Come with me tomorrow night. And I will show you that what I'm telling you is the truth Luna," he continued.

"Enrico, Luna is already hurting. Stop it," she demanded.

"She needs to get hurt right now and moved on after that Betty," He told her.

"Why are you doing all of these Enrico? Why did you help me and why are you telling me all of these?" I am puzzled at the moment.

"You will know at the right time, Luna. Tomorrow I will bring you to Hector's place. I want you to know that I am telling the truth," he stormed outside the house and I was left with Mrs. Fox in the living room.

I looked at her as the tears started to fall in my eyes.

"I will go with him tomorrow night Mrs. Fox. I want to see Hector. I want to ask him. I know my mate loves me and he will never do anything that will cause me pain," my voice trembled.

"Luna, I understand what you are feeling right now. I want you to be strong for now and for what might come in the future. Always believe in yourself and have faith in your love for your mate," she said.

I always love her advice. She is like a mother to me. I remember how she treated me and Elli every time we visit the library before.

I remember my best friend Elli, I can still remember how Lucas killed her. I can still see her lifeless body in my mind. It hurts to remember that my only best friend was dead.

It took me a while to accept that she was dead. Mrs. Fox was right beside me the past few days every time I cry remembering her death.




The next day, I found myself standing in front of the house with Enrico's wolf by my side. Mrs. Fox prepared everything I needed and put it on my back pack including Enrico's clothes.

He asked me to ride on his back and so I did. It took us almost one hour in the woods before we arrived at the land owned by my mate and his pack.

Enrico told me that we need to blend with the guest so that we can enter the venue.

I didn't have the chance to ask him if there was a big party in the mansion. Many guests and visitors are on their way.

In a garden near the mansion, I saw a lot of people and they are all busy talking to each other.

I want to know what is going on here right now. I am walking in a wave of people and I saw Enrico behind me. He never left me since we came here.

I tried to move closer to the center when everyone cheered. Some shouted while others clapped their hands.

My eyes caught Stefan and Ryan on one side looking at the crowd of people.

It took me a while before I reached the center. There I saw my mate standing, wearing a black suit. He was very handsome. The beat of my heart becomes fast when I saw it was Jasmine beside him. She is wearing a white long gown.

Her hands are wrapped around Hector's arms and they are both happy looking at the crowd of people.

Hector turned to face Jasmine and kissed her on the lips. The people cheered and shouted,

"Best wishes to the alpha and his wife!"

And I was left frozen in place.
