Chapter 54

LUNA POV

Lucas dragged me inside his office. He reached for my lips and kissed me hard. I don't want to protest. If I do, he might think it differently. I let him claim my lips and my mouth as I felt his weight above me. I am laying on the sofa and he was above me feeling every inch of my body.

I felt his hand beneath my cloth massaging my breast. His lips went down to my neck feeling his teeth sink into my skin. I can feel his hardness in between me. The bulge on his pants came into view and I know I just turned him on.

His lips never left mine. His hands went down to my pants making their way inside my underwear. His finger found my clit and started rubbing it. A moan slipped off my lips and I saw a trace of a smile on his face. He pulled out his finger from my underwear and licked his finger to taste my juices. He was about to take off my clothes when we heard knocks on the door.

Lucas took a deep breath and went to the door.

"What do you need?" he asked.

"Sorry for interrupting you alpha but we have an emergency meeting. Your brother sent news," the man told Lucas.

I was confused about what the man said. Lucas has a brother. I never knew he had a brother. This man has his own secrets and that's for me to find out.

Lucas went back to me and kissed me on the lips.

"I will be back Luna. You can go out and try to walk around the house. But please don't make any foolishness." he warned me.

I nodded and he left me inside his office.

I stayed for a while before I decided to go out. I need to find a meeting place to know what the news is all about. The man earlier is talking seriously. That could be very important.

In the corridor, I met a few attendants walking and they were in a hurry. They are busy as always. I tried to follow one of them to ask if she knew where the alpha is. She said it's in a room next to the library.

I hurriedly looked for the library and bingo! I found it. Next to the library was a big room, I think it's like a conference room.

I went closer to the door to try to listen to their conversation. I can hear people talking and laughing.

"We need to have a celebration alpha. Victory is yours!" someone spoke and the others cheered.

"You are right! This is my victory, our victory. Thanks to my half-brother. I owe him a lot," I can hear the triumph in Lucas' voice.

I frowned, what are they talking about?

"James, I want you to prepare a party for my brother and his men. They deserve a celebration," Lucas continued.

"When will they arrive alpha?" someone asked.

"It would be tomorrow. So I want everything to be in place," he replied.

"What would happen now to the Black tooth Guardians pack, now that their alpha is dead?"

I was left frozen in place the moment I heard those words.

My chest tightened and I can't breathe. My mate, what happened to him?

I place my hands on my mouth to prevent any sounds from coming out. I closed my eyes as tears ran down my face.

"If not because of Francis and the poison, Hector could still be alive now. But because he trusted my brother so much, he was now ten feet below the ground. I won, Luna is mine forever," Lucas exclaimed.

I can’t bear the pain anymore. I don't want to believe that my mate is dead, that's impossible.

I went away from that room. I tried to run as fast as I can going to my room. I closed the door. I was panting and sobbing at the same time. My whole world shattered into pieces when Lucas said that Hector was dead.

Francis, I can't believe it. He was Lucas' half-brother, he betrayed my mate. How could he?

I lay down on the bed and tightened my grip on the pillow. The pain was crushing my soul.

I need to escape from here. I need to go to my mate's funeral. I need to see him for the last time.

I remember Philip. He has the keys. I need to get those keys from him to save my best friend. I need to escape here with Elli.

My feet still tremble and I felt like I want to pass out. My eyes were fluffy from crying and my visions were still blurry.

I found myself walking in Elli's direction. I made it quietly so no one can notice me. I heard someone closing the cells from down there so I hid in one of the corners.

The man came into view and it was Philip. He was just walking comfortably without noticing me.

He was playing with the keys in his hands. I tried to look from the distance as to where he was going.

He went inside a room nearby. I tried to wait for a while. He came out again carrying a jacket and cap. When he was gone, I went closer to the door to check if it was open.

Luckily, it was left open. I hope the key was there inside.

I went in, it was a small room with a single bed and a small table. There were some man's clothes scattered everywhere. It was his room. I scanned the place. I need to find the keys.

I opened the drawer, but it was not there. I reached for a brown sling bag but it was not here too.

Maybe he brought it with him. I didn't lose hope, I tried to search again. I reached for his pillows to look beneath, still, it wasn't here. I was about to return the pillow to its place when something fell on the floor. I looked down and was stunned to see that it was the key.

I immediately grabbed the keys and went out of the room. Everyone was busy at the moment with the celebration tomorrow.

I kept the keys in my pocket. I and Elli will escape tomorrow in time that they are all busy celebrating.

I went closer to the window. It was totally dark outside. I looked up to see the stars sparkling and grabbing my attention.

I felt tears rolling down my eyes.

"Hector, I don't want to believe you are dead. Wait for me, I'm coming," I whispered.
