Chapter 48

HECTOR POV

This is the first time in my life that I felt nervous. The feeling that you can't even focus on what to do, even to fix yourself. Stefan and Francis kept laughing at me since this morning.

"Man, relax. This is just a wedding." both of them burst into laughter. I really want to kick their ass. If only they would understand the feeling of mixed excitement and fear.

I chose a white Italian tux. This is a good choice. Francis said I look good on this. Well, I always believe him. He is a good adviser to me.

I remember Luna, I'm sure she's preparing too. She will be the most beautiful bride today. I can imagine how she walks down the aisle later.

"Are you sure you will not cry later, alpha? If you do, you might be the first alpha who will cry at his wedding," Stefan teased.

I clenched my jaw, I really want to kick them both. They've been laughing the whole time looking at me.

I felt tensed but I need to compose myself.

At the wedding venue, I saw a few friends including my cousin Ryan. He approached to hug me. Ryan is like a brother to me.

"You look great Hector," he said.

"Thanks, Ryan. I am glad you came," I replied.

"Of course Hector, this is your special day. I'm so excited to see Luna."

"She's coming in a few minutes," I told him.

I was attending to some of the visitors when I saw Stefan running going to me. He was panting and his face worried.

"What happened" I went to him.

"There’s something happened in the mansion Hector." my blood runs cold with his words. My mate.

"What do you mean?" I tried to compose myself. I don't want to freak out in front of other people. I'm the alpha.

"The enemies were able to get into the mansion, I don't know-how. They created commotion and then fought our men. There were three of them but our men were able to take them down," he reported.

"How about Luna?" I asked. I need an answer right now.

"Luna... Luna is gone," he said.

"What?" I tightened my grip on Stefan's collar. Francis stopped me and calmed me down.

"Our men are looking for her," Francis said.

I left them both and walked out of the venue. I talked to my other men.

We shift and run to the woods. I need to find my mate. I can't believe it. We were strict and the guards were all on alert. How come the enemies were able to get in?

I want to blame myself. I will really blame myself if something bad happened to her.

I went deeper into the woods. My other wolves were behind me. My wolf was able to sniff the scent of my mate. I need to follow her path. This is the only way I can find her.

I recognized another smell. It was the smell of someone. And I don't recognize it. It means Luna was with a person when she passed this way. There is only one person who went to my place to get her. My brow furrowed.

I followed their trail when two wolves emerged on the side and attacked me. They lunged toward me and I stumbled down. I immediately went back on my feet to attack them back. I gave a loud growl as I leaped on one of the wolves. My sharp teeth penetrated his neck. I tasted his blood. The other one pounced on me. I was able to avoid his bite and aimed for his neck too. Now, both of the wolves were lying lifeless in front of me. It was so easy to kill these bastards.

One of my wolves approached me. While others were being attacked by rouges. We were outside the protected area. I will not be surprised anymore why the rogues are here. They are expecting us.

"Alpha, there are more rogues coming in our direction," he said.

"Fight them and kill them all while I look for my mate," I gave a command.

"Yes, alpha," the wolf replied.

I run to follow the path until I found the lace of her gown. It was a piece from Luna's gown. So she really went here, with her long gown.

She is with only one person, which means that she trusted this person and didn’t even fight back when she was brought here.

I scanned the place until I reached a clearing. This is the place where that person brought my mate. Her scent was all over this place. I tried to sniff to find another scent. I recognized another scent.

My wolf growled as we recognized the scent, it was Lucas. Lucas was back. I was about to follow Lucas' scent when two more wolves came. They are determined to kill me as they both jumped toward me. I welcomed them and pounced on them causing one of them to fall to the ground. I am bigger than these two wolves. It was easy to defeat them.

The other one howled as it attacked me so with just a swift movement I ripped his throat. Blood spattered around me as I killed the wolf in just a blink of an eye.

The other one leaped towards me so I used my claws to aim for his eyes. He fell down to the ground shouting in pain. I dived onto the wolf to sink my teeth into his flesh. I heard his agony but I don't care. He tried to push back so I decided to end his life.

I was so furious. My wolf would kill anyone who would block our way. Someone betrayed me. They planned this to get to my mate without me noticing it. I will kill Lucas the moment I will see him.

I tried to follow their scent but it was gone. I know Lucas has the ability to mask the scent. I can't find my mate's scent anymore. It makes me angrier. Luna is in real danger now. I need to find her. I need to find my mate.
