Chapter 41
LUNA POV
Panic strikes after the man told Hector that rogues were attacking their land. I felt scared, they will always follow us wherever we go.
Hector left me in the mansion and told me to stay inside. The mansion was well-guarded by wolves.
I looked down to see the flower he gave me. It was really beautiful. He looked nervous earlier as he gave this to me. It was funny to see him looking nervous holding the flower.
I placed the flower on my chest, closer to my heart. He will forever be the man I will truly love.
I am standing on the balcony as I roam my eyes around the vast land. I am worried about my mate. I hope he will be fine.
I turned to go inside when I almost jumped. I was shocked to see Jasmine standing at my back with his angry look.
She was wearing a dark green dress and black heels. Her hair was pony-tailed and she was gorgeous as always. Her lipstick was red as blood.
She walked closer as she looked at me from head to foot. I felt so small beneath her gaze.
"You poor human. Do you think you can have Hector with just a simple blink of an eye?" she said as she laughed.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her.
"I'm here to make you understand how useless you are human. You might have powerful blood. But you are not a werewolf. You can never be Hector's queen." she made it clear in my face.
My eyes started to water. She is right. I am a human, not a werewolf.
"The Black tooth Guardians pack has a strict rule that has passed on from generation to generation that their alpha can never be mated to a human. And that could never be changed, Luna. If you really want to be an alpha Queen, why don't you go and marry Lucas alpha of the Madfur Claws pack? They have a rule that alpha can marry a human. Go to him and leave Hector to me, you little slut," she said.
"That will never happen Jasmine, I will never leave him because I love him," I told her as tears fell from my eyes.
"We'll see Luna. One day he will realize that you are useless and he needs me, a werewolf who can stand by his side," she uttered the words.
I tightened my hold on the flower. I was deeply hurt by her words.
She walked away and left me on the balcony.
She is right, Hector will be the next Alpha on their pack. She can never marry a human like me.
I stayed in my room for almost two hours. I just stood at the window looking from the outside. It was almost sunset.
I wonder what was happening to Hector now. How were the rogues? Where are they able to send them away?
Three loud knocks interrupted my thought. I hurriedly approached the door and check who was it.
It was Stefan, he was a bath in sweat and blood.
"What happened Stefan?" I asked him.
"Hector needs you, Luna," he was panting hard.
I immediately followed him. He brought me to a room where Hector was lying and he was in pain. He has a wound on his right leg and it was deep.
“One of the rogues planted a silver trap and Hector was injured. I think she needs your blood, Luna.” Francis told me.
I nodded. I reached for a small knife to put a small cut on my hand just enough for blood to drop.
I let the blood drop on his wound and it was amazing to see him slowly heal.
Hector looked up at me and touched my face.
"Luna thank you. I love you," he said softly.
I gave him a quick kiss on his lips. I am happy to see him healing.
The blood healed the wound completely and it gave him strength again. He sat on the bed as if nothing just happened to him.
"Why did the rogues come?" I asked him.
"They knew that I will be crowned as the new alpha of the pack tomorrow so they came to attack us," he replied.
"I was worried about you, are you feeling better now?" I asked him again.
"Yes, thank you for your blood baby. You know every time you drop your blood on my wound, a memory flashes back," he said to me.
"Really, what memory was that?" I am excited to know about it.
"It was a memory when I was 14 years old. My brother planted a trap in the woods while we were having training. I know they don't like me. Someone shot me with an arrow made of silver and it hits my stomach. I was in my wolf form back then. I was in agony in the woods when a little girl came to rescue me. She accidentally placed her bloody hand on my wound and it healed. The sensation I felt is so similar to how your blood cures Me." he stated.
"Yes, I remember that day. It was me, Hector. I was six years old back then when I saw a wolf in the woods. I tried to help the wounded wolf. My parents came to look for me and the wolf ran away from me," I laughed thinking it was him.
He hugged me.
"We were really meant to be Luna," he said.
I hugged him back, his embrace was comforting. It calms my nerves. If only we can stay this way forever.
His uncle Emmanuel came in. Hector tried to stand to welcome his uncle.
"Glad to see you are fine now Hector. The perimeter was cleared. They are gone. We need to double our men for the coronation tomorrow. You also need to rest. You will be the alpha of our pack starting tomorrow night," he told Hector.
Hector just nodded.
"By the way, Jasmine's pack will also come to show support." he continued.
"That's nice," Hector replied.
"After the coronation, his father asked and invited us for a dinner. We need to talk about your marriage to Jasmine. The wedding should continue. Our pack should unite." he said.
And I was left frozen in place.
