Chapter 19
LUNA POV
Hector's eyes went wide as he turned his face to look at me. My hands balled into a fist. I want to punch him in the face right this very moment. I just disappear for almost thirty minutes to walk outside, and now, I will witness him kissing a woman inside this room. The woman raised her right eyebrow as if she was pissed at me for interrupting her and Hector.
"Sorry for interrupting you guys. Anyway, I will just leave now so you two can continue what you are doing." my voice was cracking. I want to burst into tears.
"I'm sorry Luna, this is Clarisse and..." he said as he tried to look for the perfect word to say.
"No need to apologize Hector. I am used to seeing you playing with women." I don't care if they see me with teary eyes this time. I felt disrespected imagining Hector having another woman in the room where we were staying.
"Hector, is she your other woman too?" the woman spoke.
"No, I'm not Clarisse. And I will never be. “I responded.
"Luna, let's talk," he says calmly.
"No Hector. I don't have time for your bullshit," I said as I stormed out of the room to run away from him.
I heard him shouting my name but I don't care anymore. I found myself out of the hotel as I ran. I am running out of breath. I can't take how he played with my feelings. He treats me as his toy. I expected him to have at least a little feeling for me. But here I am, crying because I felt betrayed. His kisses were just part of his game. The way he cared for me was just part of his mission.
I didn't know how long I'd been running in this street since I left that hotel. I saw a bench on the side, I think I can sit and rest here. I felt a hot liquid on my face. I sobbed as I remember the scene earlier in that room. I was hurt because, to be honest, I am starting to have a feeling for that man. This is crazy, I need to erase him in my mind.
I looked down at my feet, I felt a little pain after running. I raised my head to stare at the sky, it was blue and it was beautiful. How I wish the sky can mend this broken heart of mine. I took a deep breath as I looked around. People are walking, some are busy talking and laughing.
I want to go home. I missed my home and my cat. Until now, I don't have any clue as to the location of Elli. I even don't know if she is safe.
As I remember my best friend, my eyes caught a person outside of a cafeteria. She is wearing jeans and a black hooded jacket. She has a brown cap and her hair is pony-tailed. My eyes recognized her. The color of her hair, her face, and her body. Shitt... it was Elli. I know it was her.
I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my body. I want to approach her and hugged her. I looked around and tried to cross the street.
She was walking away from me.
"Elli, Elli!" I shouted.
I know she can't hear me as the sounds of the car and people dominates the street.
I tried to run fast to reach her, I know it was her.
She is a little far away from me, dammit, it is hard to run with my feet aching.
"Elli, it's me, Luna! I am here" I cried out hoping she would be able to hear me.
But my feet suddenly stopped running, when I saw her approaching a man in a black suit. I recognized him, he was the man earlier I saw with other men. I tried to hide in a corner to have a clear view of them.
Elli was talking to the man with a serious face. The man is like listening to her instructions and he looks around as if trying to find someone or something.
"Why on earth Elli would talk to this man. I know they came from the side of the enemies." I whispered to myself.
I tried to think and concentrate. That was impossible, is that Elli?
Are these men, the real enemy here? Are they the ones who attacked the mansion last time? I am becoming unsure.
I want to approach her, maybe this is the right time. I need to talk to her. Maybe Elli can help me.
I was about to run to her and the man in the black suit when suddenly I heard the familiar voice again in my mind.
"Luna, run away from them! Run Luna, run!" the mysterious voice said.
I felt pinched with pain in my head. I tried to compose myself as my vision started to spin again. This is crazy, I am getting crazy. I can hear a voice inside my mind.
I tried to focus and tried my best to make a few steps forward hoping Elli would see me but I fail.
The voice inside my head says it over and over again, "Luna, run away from them! Run Luna, run!"
This time, the voice took full control over my body. What is happening to me?
I need to stop myself from running but I can’t.
I found myself running away from Elli's direction. Until I reached a part of the street where I can't see them anymore.
I touched my chest as I felt my heart beating so fast. I can't believe I was controlled by an unknown voice. Just like that, the voice was able to convince my body to run away.
I expect to find Hector on this street, but I haven't seen him. Maybe he is still busy enjoying his girl. I hate him so much.
My body was tired, I can feel it. I tried to walk a little when I saw two other men in a black suits. Fear flooded my body. My instinct says I need to run again.
I was about to turn and run again when I accidentally bumped a man.
"Oh, I am so sorry, Mr. I am sorry," I told the man.
"It was fine, Ms. Nothing to worry" his voice was deep.
I raised my head to look at him. My sight captured his face and I can say that he was handsome. He has a manly peppered stubble. His eyes were a living fire of passion. He has an imperious nose and his angular cheekbones carved down towards his flinty jaw. My mouth was left open as I scanned his face. I was brought to life again when he spoke.
"It seems you are looking at a celebrity," he laughed.
I was ashamed, he noticed me.
I tried to clear my throat.
"I'm so sorry, I bumped at you a while ago. I am... well, ahm, I am actually in a hurry," that was all I can say. I can't find the words to talk to him.
"By the way, my name is Luna Murphy and I am not from this place, " I introduced myself to him.
"How about you?" I asked him.
"My name is Lucas, Lucas Imperial," as he gave a handshake.
"Nice to meet you, Lucas," I said as I reached for his hand.
But the moment our hands meet, I felt a different feeling rushed through me.
I don't understand this feeling of fear that grows inside me. Who is this man in front of me?
