Chapter 203
**Megan**
Logan shakes me a little to wake me up. I open my eyes and slowly sit up. I’d fallen asleep on the couch. When we came in, I just collapsed on the sofa. Logan had sat with me, which was nice. He was my pillow and Max decided to be the blanket for my feet. Logan lulled me to sleep by stroking his fingers through my hair. I don’t think I’ve slept so peacefully in a long time.
Looking at Logan, I see he’s knelt next to me. His hand moves to my stomach as he kisses my shoulder.
“They’re here,”
“Ok,” I reply and drop back to lay down.
“Are you still tired?”
“Yeah but it’ll pass, I’m hungry more than tired,”
“Lorraine said she’s made you a chicken salad,” he states. I smile a little.
Chicken salad seems to be the only thing that stays down, and it’s getting boring. He chuckles at me as he probably knows what I’m thinking. Lorraine does too; she gives me this sad look every time she hands it to me.
“Hey sleepyhead,” Courtney says as she walks into the living room. She drops onto the other couch. “I’m so horny,” she says.
“Meet the female version of Carl,” I say to Logan.
“It’s been forever, I kind of wish Tyler was still here,” I smile and shake my head. “I hope I get laid tonight,”
“Kenneth is going,” I say to her. Logan looks at me and frowns.
“No, not Kenneth,” she says with a shake of her head. She then looks at me. “How was Nate?”
“Urm…” I look at Logan. “Do you want to leave?”
“No, I want to hear,” he says with a faint smile.
“Urm…” I look at Courtney, “he was ok,” I say, and she chuckles, telling me she’s asked me on purpose. “Bitch,” I snap at her and they both laugh. “Don’t you start,” I tell Logan “Otherwise you can hear what I really think,” I threaten, “He’s better than you at something,” I tease making him frown at me,
“That’s a lie. I’m good at everything,”
“Wow, someone is confident,” Courtney says standing up as the doorbell goes. “I’ll get that,” she says and walks out.
“What’s he better at than me?” he asks. I smile as his jealousy peaks through.
“I’m not telling you,”
“Tell me,” he skims his lips against mine. “It’s gotta be something small,” he thinks out loud. The truth is there’s nothing. I said it to tease him for making me feel awkward. “I think I need to prove myself,” he says before pressing his lips to mine.
“I like the idea of that,” I say between kisses. He pulls back as the girls walk in.
“Looks like I’ll have to wait,” he stands up, “I’ll leave you guys to talk,” he says to me, and I know he’s hinting at me to tell them I’m pregnant. I sigh and swing my legs off the couch and stand to greet my friends.
We were going to wait until I reached 16 weeks, but Courtney is continuously offering me weed and alcohol. The other day when we were planning for today, Julie said she’d be bringing alcohol so we could pre-drink. I know at some point it will lead to them becoming suspicious if they aren’t already. It didn’t help that they came around the other week and I couldn’t stop throwing up. It’s only so many times a girl can get food poisoning.
It helps that Melanie knows. She’s probably the one I’d be more nervous about, mostly because she’s so opinionated.
“You ok?” Yasmin asks. I nod and watch as Julie places a bag full of spirits on the coffee table. I look away from it to see Logan stood at the door to the kitchen watching. I give him a small smile, and he smiles back.
“I have something to tell you guys,” I start. Julie stops taking the bottles out of the bag and looks at me.
“Why do you sound like you’re about to tell us something awful?” she asks.
“I’m not, just urm…” I pause and think of how I should word this. With Brett, I had to do it like a band-aid. With Logan, it wasn’t me who told him. Where is angry Lorraine when I need her? “I won’t be drinking tonight,” I start.
“What? But I bought so much, I even got your favourite, no one here likes whiskey but you,” Julie says in disgust.
“I’m pregnant,” I say quietly. Julies jaw drops. Courtney tilts her head.
“No fucking way,” Courtney says. I look at Melanie to see her smile a little. “Who did you bareback?” she asks. I sigh and look down at my hands as they all take my news in.
“That explains a lot,” Yasmin states.
“Shut the fuck up,” Julie says still in shock. I look at all three of them. “You’re not,”
“I am,”
“Nope,” Julie says with a shake of her head.
“I’ve got a scan if you want to see,” I state.
“Then whose is it?” she asks.
“Logan’s,”
“You’ve been back together for five minutes,” Julie says and then shakes her head.
“Julie, breathe,” Melanie says to her.
“But, but,” she stutters to Melanie.
“Breathe,” Melanie tells her again.
“Ok,”
“It’s ok,” Melanie reassures her.
“We’re not supposed to be having babies until we’re 25,” Julie cries. I look at Logan for help. “This messes up everything,”
“Thanks,” I say quietly.
“No, that’s not what I mean, I just thought that we’d all have babies at the same time and then they’d all be best friends,” she says.
“When did we agree to this?” Yasmin asks, looking at Julie.
“Yeah, I never agreed,” Melanie states.
“In my head, you already agreed,” Julie states. “I planned your futures for you,” she adds. I chuckle and look at Max, who has moved from the couch to me. I stroke him and look back at Julie.
“It’s ok Julie,”
“Ok,” she says and then stands up. “I’m sorry, congratulations,” she says and moves towards me to hug me.
“How far along are you?” Courtney asks.
“10 weeks,”
“Wait,” she says with a grin and counts on her fingers. “The night you got back together,” I nod. “Well, I’m not surprised after how you walked in the morning,”
“Someone, please hit her,” I say.
“Gladly,” Melanie says and picks up a cushion to then hit Courtney in the face with it.
“I like whiskey,” Yasmin states. “I’ll drink your share,”
Out of all of them, I didn’t expect Julie to have an emotional breakdown. I expected Courtney to be honest. I knew Yasmin would just accept it but who would have thought Julie, who loves children to be the one to be upset?
“Technically none of you should be drinking,” Logan says as he walks in with my bowl of salad. He hands me the salad.
“Don’t tell us what we shouldn’t be doing,” Julie says. “There’s plenty of things that you two shouldn’t have been doing,” she says, and I smile a little.
“Julie is taking the news pretty hard,” I say to Logan.
“I heard,” he says and sits on the arm of the couch and kisses the top of my head. “Don’t worry, we can have more,” he says, and I do a double glance at him.
“What?” I say, shocked. He grins, and I shake my head. “When you say we do you mean you with someone else?” I ask. “Because I’m not going through this again,”
“Is it that bad?” Julie asks.
“No, it’s the morning sickness, I can’t eat most days, and I’m tired all of the time,” I say and look down at the salad. “This is probably the only thing I can stomach,”
“And Bacon sarnies,” Logan says, and I frown at him. “Sandwiches,” he says to me.
“Wait if you’re moving to England will you teach the baby British English or the proper English?” Julie asks, making Logan frown at her.
“I’m insulted,” Logan says, “I think you will find that you have butchered the English language,” he growls a little, and I can see the anger on his face.
“Calm down, she’s just teasing you,” I say patting his knee. He looks at Julie and scowls.
“Maybe we should go upstairs,” Yasmin says. Everyone agrees.
“I’ll be up in a few, I’m going to finish my salad,” I say and stand up to let Logan sit down so that I can sit on his lap.
“So I don’t get to see your dress at all?” he asks.
“No,” I bite into a piece of chicken. “You can see it at Prom like everyone else,”
“But Carl does,” referring to the fact Carl has offered to do my hair.
“I won’t be in my dress,” I say.
“Still,” he pouts. He’s honestly like a child.
“You get to take it off,” I say casually. His hand moves in the inside of my thigh and up the skirt of my dress. “Does that make you feel better?” I ask as I finish my salad.
“Much better,” he says and leans in to kiss me. I smile and wrap my arms around his neck.
