'Come on, Ashley". Jessy said impatiently.


I packed my books into my bag. 'Done".

She heaved a sigh of relief and held her backpack as we walked out of class heading to the school's parking lot.

There was a driver waiting for us there. I had called my Mum and she sent a car to pick me after school.

He unlocked the door and we entered.

Jessy tapped her foot constantly.

I snickered. 'Seriously? What's up with you?".

'I'm really nervous right now. I can't believe that in few hours from now, I'm going to see Jayden Roy". She said excitedly.

'Okay if you say so". I muttered.

We got to my house in about 30 minutes and soon we were in my room.

Jessy was pacing around with her phone in her hand.

I crossed my arms. 'What's wrong now?".

'J.R isn't picking his calls, he wasn't in school and now he's not answering".

'Jessy relaxes, he's probably with Adrian and Xander. He'll call or send a message later". I assured her.

She nodded. 'Okay maybe you are right".

She took her backpack. 'I'm off to work, i'll be back before six".

I fell back on the bed. 'Got it. I'll just take a nap".

I sat up from my bed feeling weird. I glanced around and realized I was in my room.

'Finally, you are awake".

I turned to see Lily sitting on a couch pressing her phone.

'How long have I been asleep?". I was confused.

'Four hours". She simply said.

'Four hours?". I was surprised.

'Yep". She answered.

I groaned and fell back on the bed.

'You okay dude? You seem pretty down".

I looked at her. 'Since when did you start caring?".

She rolled her eyes. 'Don't make me beat the hell out of you".

'I'm just tired, that's all".

The door opened and a guy wearing a white long coat walked in. Maybe a doctor.

'Sir Roy, you are awake". He smiled coming over.

'What the h*ell happened?".

Lily faced me. 'You had a breakdown and fainted".

What??! I looked over and saw the doctor with tools.

'What are you doing?".

'I just want to take your temperature". He said holding a thermometer.

I stood up from the bed. 'I'm not sick, i'm okay, feeling great".

'Sir Roy, your Dad__".

I cut him off. 'I don't care what my Dad said, you are not treating me".

I walked out of the room angrily and went ahead to the studio room. I saw Andrea behind the glass singing.

'Dad!!". I called.

He turned to me. 'Are you okay now?".

'I'm great okay. What's that doctor doing in my room?".

Dad motioned them to stop what they were doing at the control panel.

'Everyone leave. I need to talk to my son".

They all stood up and left one after the other, Adrian patted my back before going. Andrea came closer to kiss me but I withdrew. She scoffed and left.

I faced my Dad. 'I've had many concerts like this and I know I can handle this".

'I know how to take care of this". He replied.

'I know the doctor injected something into me like some soothing drug or__".

'Who's the girl?". He asked all of a sudden.

'What?".

He took my phone from a table and handed it to me. I turned it on and saw missed calls from Jessy. She actually missed me.

'Who's she?". My Dad sounded serious.

I dropped my phone. 'My girlfriend, Jessamyn".

'That's why you were stressed?". He asked staring at me.

I remained silent.

'Jayden, I need you to focus your full attention on this show happening tonight because AZ industries put a lot of money into this". Dad explained intently.

I sighed listening to him as he talked constantly.

Hours later…
I was in my dressing room as many professionals attended to me. In like an hour, i'll be performing in front of a crowd.

'Sir Roy, you are all set". The professional said, swiveling my chair facing the mirror.

My natural blond hair was swept backwards and my green eyes shined the more, she had highlighted my face features.

I stared at myself in my reflection, I closed my eyes taking in a deep breath.

I felt the girl's finger trace from my hair down to my face. She brought her lips close to my face.

I remained calm. 'What are you doing?".

She jumped in fear. 'I was just, umm, I was helping you calm your nerves".

'Get out". I barked.

I don't need anyone seducing me at this moment, especially when I have a girlfriend.

'Sir, I was just__".

'What happened?". Adrian came over.

'Make her leave".

The girl immediately left the dressing room.

'Come on, Roy, don't take out your anger on other people".

'She deserved it". I mumbled.

Adrian faced me. 'Are you sure you wanna do it tonight?".

After my Dad and I talked, I told him that I wanted to reveal my true identity at the afterparty. It was made viral and mostly everyone already knew about it.

Most of my fans were desperate to attend the after party. But it was strictly invitations, at least the media is going to be there.

'I've made up my mind already". I said.

'Okay if you say so".

'Where's Xander?". I asked, looking around.

'He went to settle things with his Mum".

'You talked him into it?".

He nodded in response. 'Yep".

I cracked my knuckles thinking of the concert. I really needed my friends.

'Are you still nervous?".

I nodded without saying a word. Only my close friends know how nervous I am before every show.

'There's nothing to be afraid of, its your show and you are gonna kill it". Adrian assured me.

I smoothed my silky blond hair. 'Yeah you are right".

The door opened and Audrey came in smiling.

'Roy, good luck".

I smiled in response.

'Adrian". She called.

Adrian kissed her cheeks. 'I'll be there".

She left immediately.

I opened my mouth, surprised raising my eyebrows.

Adrian shrugged. 'What? It was bound to happen anyways".

'You just keep surprising me". I said to him,

He chuckled and left the dressing room.

I closed my eyes resting on the chair, Jessamyn's face popped up in my mind. I smiled remembering her.

I was still sleeping soundly when a scream pierced through my ears. I jerked up immediately seeing Jessy jumping around.

'You won't believe what happened".

I rolled my eyes. 'Surprise me".

'Jayden Roy is showing his real identity tonight at the after-party". She squealed excitedly.

I laughed seeing her all happy and jumping around.

'It's a dream come true". She said. 'I'll finally see his face behind his mask".

I fell back on the bed. 'How did you know he was gonna do that anyway?".

'It was announced on TV, radios and even on the internet by the owner of AZ industries which is the record label of Jayden Roy". She explained. 'His show is gonna be streaming live and guess what, tickets are sold out".

'Lucky you". I said, closing my eyes.

'Oh no you don't". Jessy threw a pillow at me forcing me to stand up.

'Aargh". I groaned.

'Go shower now". She ordered.

I went into the bathroom to freshen and came out minutes later wearing a towel and noticed Jessy was dressed already.

She wore a short blue gown and white sneakers which made her look fabulous.

'You look nice". I complimented her.

She blushed slightly. 'Thanks, go get dressed".

I walked to my wardrobe and selected my underwear, then I searched for clothes to wear.

I finally settled on a white crop top, black trousers and white sneakers.

'Seriously? Do you always have to wear shorts or trousers?". Jessy asked, staring at me.

I shrugged while walking over to my dresser, i took my hairbrush and brushed my hair making it fall freely on my shoulders.

'I'm done". I said taking my knapsack.

Jessy looked at me. 'No makeup?".

I shook my head negatively. 'Nope".

'Then let's go, come on". She said hurriedly and left the room.

I chuckled and followed her behind. We got to the car in the garage and we entered. The driver drove out through the gates to the concert.

'I can't wait". Jessy squealed.

I laughed watching her. She really is so happy to see Jayden Roy.


'Jessy, please don't do it. I'm begging you, i really love you". His green eyes pleaded.


'I'm sorry". I whispered.

He knelt down slowly. 'Baby, i'm on my knees. This shows how much I love you, please don't do this not now".

'This relationship is over". I sniffed sadly.

It just so happened that one of the most popular teen celebrity singers in the entire country was dating me. Kissing me senseless every chance he got and I only now find out that he is Jayden Roy.

'Baby". He called still on his knees.

The idea of being alone with him for even a minute was too much. I shook my head vigorously trying to shake off the thought but I couldn't.

'You might have said something". I told him in a deceptively mild voice.

'Well I didn't exactly hide it from you". He paused. 'But .. Does it change who I am?".

Although I understood, it hurt that he hadn't trusted me with the truth.

I stood up cleaning my tears. 'I have to go home".

He stood up and held me back. 'Jessy. Where are you going?".

'Away from you, away from all these lies".

'Okay I'm sorry. I'm Jayden Roy". He said.

I removed my hand from his. 'Nice to meet you but I can no longer be in a relationship with you".

'Jessy if you leave me__".

I walked away not wanting to hear what he would say.

'Jessy!!".

I turned to see Ashley panting.

'Ashley, I need to go".

'Come on, Jessy, don't be like this".

I scoffed. 'Really? Then why didn't you tell me yourself?".

'I tried to but__".

I cut her off. 'Look, Ashley, you clearly wont understand from my point of view so there's no need for all this' '.

'Both of you at least talk, you know what happened the other time you left Roy". She reminded me. 'You both got heartbroken and he became a mess".

'I became heartbroken because I love J.R but now he seems like a stranger to me".

'What the fck is the difference?". She yelled. 'J.R and Jayden Roy are the same person within".

'I've made up my mind".

She looked at Jayden before looking back at me. 'Jessamyn, don't do this".

I ignored her and ran away, i ran away from everything, i went past the black large gate. I managed to find a cab that took me home.

The cab finally stopped at my apartment, i paid the cabman and got out. I unlocked the door and went in sadly.

I went up the stairs past my roommates and walked to my room door. I pushed it open and went in.

I flopped on the bed thinking about what happened.

I heard a knock on the door.

'Don't come in".

The door opened and Alison entered.

'I literally said do not come in". I told her.

She leaned on the door. 'What's up with you?".

'Nothing okay?".

'How was the party?".

I sniffed into my pillow ignoring her.

She walked over to me and sat down on my bed. 'You can't fool me".

I hugged the pillow. 'I didn't say anything".

'He was the one who dropped you off the other day. Right?".

I nodded sadly.

'And also the guy who showed up at the restaurant?". She asked curiously.

'He's the one". I replied sadly.

'And it happened so that he's also the one behind that mask but that doesn't mean anything".

I sat up. 'He didn't even tell me".

'He's a celebrity superstar. Jessamyn, there must be a reason".

'I don't care to know the reason, I broke up with him". I said.

She tapped my head. 'Are you out of your mind? Do you know how many girls would kill to be in your position as Jayden Roy's girlfriend?". She asked surprised.

I flopped back on the bed. 'I really don't care anymore, Alison".

'But you love that guy". She said softly.

'Goodnight". I said and closed my eyes.

As much as I would like to not admit it, I love J.R and I also love Jayden Roy. They are practically the same person but I kinda feel betrayed. At least, he would have given me a heads up.

I drifted off to sleep thinking of him.

'Roy, you need to think". Adrian told me.

I sat on the bed. 'I can't think right now, she's been in my head since she left me yesterday".

'But she clearly broke up with you".

I remained adamant. 'She still loves me".

He scoffed. 'Oh really?".

I looked at him. 'I make my own decisions, Adrian".

'Are you sure about this?". He asked softly.

I cracked my knuckles. 'I might go crazy if I don't go after her".

'Don't you think you are making a mistake?". Adrian asked me.

I wore my shoes. 'Going to find her is not a mistake".

'If she truly loves you, she will come back to you". He advised.

I stood up. 'She misunderstood me. I have to go explain it to her in person since she's not picking any of my calls".

'You sure you don't want me to go with you?". He asked, concerned.

'I need to talk to her alone". I said and walked out of my room.

Its been just a day since she left me but I've not been myself ever since. I really need to see her.

I had two of my bodyguards follow me as I drove to the restaurant where she works. Since everyone knows my real identity, I need protection just in case.

We got to the restaurant and I stepped out of my Car and walked to Golden Spade. People gasped and began taking pictures of me.

I went over to an empty booth and sat down putting on my face cap. I had already talked to the manager to let Jessy serve my table.

'Can I take your order? Sir".

I really miss her voice even though its just a day without seeing her beautiful face.

I took off the face cap. 'Jessy".

She paused seeing me, I could see tears in her eyes as she stared at me.

She turned to go but I held her back.

'Jessy please. Just hear me out". I said softly.

I woke up tired and sat up on my bed. I realised I still wore the clothes from the after party. I took them off and tied a towel around my body heading to the bathroom.

I stopped when my phone rang from the side table, I walked there and took my phone. Another missed call from Ashley, i checked it and noticed there were 45 missed calls from Ashley and 105 missed calls from an unknown number. Looks like the unknown number was Jayden.

I went through my phone and saw 45 unread messages from the same unknown number. It was Jayden or J.R begging me, he also sent me several voice notes.

I deleted all of them including the calls and his number. I need to get my mind off this.

I took my bath and dressed up before leaving the apartment. I flagged down a cab which took me to Golden Spade.

I went in through the back since it was not yet open for business.

'You are late". Quentin frowned at me.

'Look, I don't have time for this". I said wearing the apron. 'I'm really tired".

'So it is true huh?". She asked as she followed me to where the workers were.

I noticed all of the restaurant workers were staring at me.

I sighed. 'What now?".

'You are still working here?". Luke asked.

I paused. 'Yeah, is anything the problem?".

'I thought since you and Jayden Roy are together, you would quit". Katy explained.

I figured out they knew from the internet and maybe from the media. Jayden Roy is so popular, my J.R.

'We broke up". I told them.

Quentin laughed. 'He broke up with you".

'I broke up with him". I said sadly.

'You've got to be kidding me". Quentin scoffed. 'Why would you do that? Jayden Roy is like so popular".

I ignored them fiddling with my fingers.

'Miss Hathaway, you are here". I turned to see Mr. West coming over.

I nodded but didn't say anything. Mr. West talked about a few things before the restaurant was open. I had attended to a few people and Mr. West just sent me to a particular person.

I went back into the main restaurant and noticed people holding their phones whispering in hushed tones.

I walked over to the table where Mr. West directed me to attend. A young guy was sitting down wearing a face cap and blond hair was peeking out from the face cap.

'Can I take your order? Sir". I said politely.

He removed his cap. 'Jessy".

I looked at him realizing how I missed him even if its just a day.

I maintained my stance. 'What would you like to order?".

'I want you back". He said softly.

I sighed. 'This is a restaurant, Jayden or Roy__".

He cut me off. 'Roy is fine".

'I'm working, Roy and I don't need you to distract me right now".

He stood up. 'I couldn't sleep".

'If you would excuse me, I'd like to get back to work".

He held me back.

I noticed people in the restaurant taking pictures. I looked at them then at Roy.

He tapped his forehead frustratingly. 'Get rid of them".

'Everyone, Jayden Roy needs some privacy". One of the bodyguards shouted.

I was thinking people were going to react but they left willingly. I was really surprised.

'OMG!! Jayden Roy. I'm Quentin". I heard her say behind me.

He ignored her and looked at me. 'Can we talk?".

'Roy__".

He squeezed my palm. 'Please".

I nodded in response.

He heaved a sigh of relief. 'Will, inform the manager to close this place for a while".

His bodyguard grunted and left while Roy and I sat down at a booth.

I stared at my fingers not saying anything for a while, I looked up and saw him staring at me intensely.

'Can I kiss you?". He asked unexpectedly.

I scoffed. 'No, you said you wanna talk".

'I don't know what to say other than I love you very much". He said sincerely.

I crossed my arms. 'And I'm supposed to believe you? Why?".

'I just ..". He trailed off.

'Okay we had a good talk, bye". I stood up.

'I wonder if you really loved me or we dated out of pity". He said.

I stopped and faced him. 'Just so you know, I love you a lot".

'Then why is it so hard accepting that I'm Jayden Roy?". He shouted.

'Because its all sudden okay? This is all sudden and its hard to take in". I bursted into tears.

He hugged me tightly, caressing my hair.

'I'm sorry. I really am". He whispered.

I rested in his arms feeling secured. We stayed like that for a while before he pulled away.

He looked at me. 'Do you still need another apology?".

I smiled. 'Just for the record, I love you".

He kissed my forehead. 'I love you too both as J.R and Jayden Roy ''
