Friday……
They were getting ready to go to the temple.
"Oh…I forgot something. I'll be back." Granny said and headed for the stairs.

Anthoniasmiled at the mirror deeply.
She was dazed…happy…
Her life the past days had been blissful and it was amazing.
Sighing, she got off the stool and decided to go join everyone down the stairs.
***
Diya stood along the hallway as Granny approached her.
She glared at the old lady bitterly and it didn't take the woman so much time to finally notice the death glare coming her way.
"Is anything wrong Diya?" Granny asked and Diya smriked.
"Yes .."
"I am sick of having you around. You need to go." Diya mumbled and before the old lady could say anything,Diya pushed her.
Anthoniahadn't seen anything but only saw Granny about to fall off the stairs.
Her eyes bulged in shock as she tried to reach the old lady but it was too late as the Granny tumbled down the stairs and Anthoniawas stunned to the core.
"GRANNY!"
The family rushed to the stairs as the Granny finally landed at the foot of the stairs.
She had lost consciousness and her head bled badly.
The men rushed her out as the women looked up at Anthoniawho slowly alighted the stairs.
Once she had gotten down totally,a tight slap landed on her cheek.
Her Mother-in-law had slapped her.
Anthoniagasped in shock as she held her cheek.
"How dare you!?" Her Mother-in-law yelled.
Anthoniashook her head.
"N…no Mother. I didn't do anything." Anthoniafinally spoke up.
"I didn't push her. Please believe me."
"Pray nothing happens to her …else…" Her Mother glared at her and stormed off.
The rest only stared at her for a second before going out.
"No….no…this can't be happening…" Anthoniapanicked.
★★★
Location; Hospital.
Anthoniafelt like a criminal among her family members.
No one wanted to come close to her and Aditi…..
He only sat on the waiting seat….
He didn't glance her way…not even for a second.
Her heart sunk to her stomach as she felt her world crumbling.
"Anthonia…."
She turned to see her family, Krishi and Kaeya.
"Mum…" Anthoniasighed falling into her Mother's embrace as she sobbed.
"I didn't do it Mother. Please believe me." Anthoniawept as Krishi rubbed her back tenderly.
"The police is here." They heard Kaeya say and Anthoniadisengaged from the hug in surprise.
The uniformed men and a woman headed to their area and met Mr Samrat.
"Namaste sir. We are here to take in everyone's testimony." The Chief said and all eyes glanced at Anthoniamaking her cringe.
They all had there statements taken and it was all the same.
They had seen their Granny tumbling down the stairs and Anthoniawas there…which meant she must have caused the fall.
Automatically, Anthoniawas a solid suspect.
"You are hereby under arrest Mrs AnthoniaSingh for the attempted murder of Mrs Singh. You have the right to remain silent as every word of yours would be used against you in the law court. You also have the right to a lawyer." The Chief said as if he loved saying it and the female cop fixed cuffs around Anthonia's wrists.
"No…there's a mix up somewhere. I did not do it. Believe me. Aditi…." Anthoniacalled but he didn't move….he had his head bowed and his face palmed.
"Mother…Father…do something. I don't want to go to jail…. please…." Anthoniawept as they took her away.
Mrs Rathord rushed to Mr Samrat.
"Please…have mercy. My daughter is innocent." She wept.
"Somebody…listen to me!" She yelled as Kaeya and Krishi tried to console her.
"Your daughter tried to kill my Mother. I can't forgive her for that. I am disappointed." Aditi's Mother said and turned her back against them.

Location: States Prison.
"Let me out of here. I didn't try to kill her!" Anthoniayelled shaking the cell gate.
"Hey! Quiet newbie!" One of the inmates shouted and Anthoniasniffed slowly sitting on the floor.
She felt weak,tired, and hopeless.
No one wanted to believe her.
Not even Aditi..
Oh…
How she wished he did believe her.
This wasn't how she planned out her day.
To be blamed for attempted murder and getting locked up in prison.
She really didn't want to be a victim of prison bullies.
*****
The Doctor came out of the operation room as they rushed to him.
"Tell us Doctor…how is she?" Aditi's Mother asked as Aditi slowly got off his seat.
"The operation was successful but,she is in a very terrible state of comatose. The chances of her getting out of it is slim. Only prayers and lots of love would help right now." The Doctor announced.
"Please excuse me." He said and walked away.
Janvi hugged her Mother as they sobbed.
Aditi only watched and turned to leave when he bumped into Diya.
"Adi…." She sighed and hugged him tight but he didn't respond.
She finally pulled away and cupped his face.
"My goodness Adi,am so sorry. Who knew your wife could be such a b!tch and hurt that poor old lady." Diya sighed and Aditi backed away trying to hide his annoyance.
"Don't you ever dare call my wife names again Diya….no matter what."
"Else…..I might lose it around you…" He warned and walked away leaving Diya stunned to the core.
*****
"Give me the keys…am driving." Aditi ordered his guard.
"But sir…."
"Give it!" Aditi growled and he handed it over.
He quickly got into the jeep and ignited the engine before speeding right out of the premises.
He gripped the steering real tight as his knuckles turned white.
Many thoughts ran through his head as he drove through the streets.
He didn't want to believe his Anthoniacould hurt his Granny but….
The picture was clear.
Everyone could understand the writing on the wall.
But why?....
Why did she do it?
Everything was going on just fine…
They were finally happy together…
Their future was so bright and sure.
The jeep screeched to a halt in the middle of the lonely street.
"Why!?" He growled holding the steering tight.
"Why Anthonia!?..." He screamed banging on the steering wheel as the vehicle honked loudly.

Location: Hospital..
Diya folded her arms as she watched the entire family stand outside the door leading to the private ward their Granny was in.
Why didn't the old hag just die?...
Diya bit her lip spitefully.
Her survival meant doom but looking at the brighter side….Diya felt safe.
The old woman was as useless as rotten vegetables.
"You all need to rest. We can't go in today. The doctor said tomorrow so I suggest you ladies go home." Mr Aniket said.
"Where is Aditi?" Aunt Indu asked as they glanced around.
"Um…he left." Diya spoke up as they glanced her way.
"He wouldn't take things lightly.." Mother sighed as Aunt Shyla squeezed her hand assuringly.
