###Chapter 70

Chapter 70

Diya stood glaring at the unconscious woman.
They were alone in the ward.

"Why don't you just die?" Diya growled.
"I mean…. you being alive is a huge disaster for me yunno. I love Adi so much and you know that. Yet…yet .. you try to keep bringing him and that silly girl closer."

"You can't be alive if I want to end up with my darling Adi … trust me …you'll have to die." Diya said

She headed for the beeping machines with great determination when the ward door opened and she halted on her tracks.

"Diya?"

She turned to see Aditi's Mother and gave a false smile.

"Mother…"

"Thought you were at the company?" She asked heading towards the bed.

"Um…no …not really. I um…I missed Granny so much and decided to drop by first." She replied and Aditi's Mother nodded.

"Just so you know, Aditi's back home. " She notified and Diya gasped loudly.

"Seriously!?"

"Maybe if you are quick, you might catch up with him." She added and Diya smiled widely.

"Thanks Mother." Diya sighed before rushing out.

Aditi's Mother stared at the door for long after Diya's exit.

"Don't you find her strange Mother?" She muttered and faced the unconscious woman on the bed.

"I mean,Diya and my Aditi have been close friends since birth. Despite we got him married without her knowing, she still stuck by him. I really hope she helps him get through this."
She sighed.

Location: Station

Anthonia rushed to a nearby sink and threw up in it.

"What is wrong with you?" The female officer with her asked.

"I…I dunno." Anthonia sighed and wiped her mouth with the back of her palm.

She had just left the Inspector's office after some questioning when she felt nauseous.

"You had better not die here. You should see a doctor." The office adviced.

"Am fine." Anthonia scoffed and they headed on back to her cell.

The inmates scoffed upon her arrival and Anthonia decided to shut them out.
She needed to get out of that place as soon as possible.

As she walked to her spot, her head began to feel too heavy for her neck and she staggered gripping the protector in the cell for support.

"What's happening to me?" She sighed and staggered again before slipping to the floor embracing the darkness.

****

Anthonia gasped and opened her eyes sharply.
Everywhere was bright and shinny.
Definitely not anywhere in the station.

"Oh…you are awake.."
She turned her neck to see a Doctor at her bedside.

"Yeah.." Anthonia muttered.

"Where am I?"
"What happened to me?" She queried and the Doctor smiled softly at her.

"You should relax."
Anthonia tried sitting up but felt restricted and glanced at her wrist which was cuffed and sighed.

"We have called your family members already. They would be here soon." The doctor notified.

"Could you please tell me what's wrong with me?" Anthonia asked and the Doctor smiled warmly.

"Well…if you must know before your family gets here…I'd gladly tell you." She replied and Anthonia furrowed her brows.

"You are pregnant…..half a month gone. Two weeks to be precise." The Doctor announced and Anthonia's eyes grew wide in surprise.

"What!?"

"Yes… your family would be happy to hear of it." She replied and Anthonia looked away from the Doctor and felt her stomach.

She was pregnant?....
She had a life growing right inside of her??

"Doctor…." Anthonia called sounding breathless.

"Yes dear…"

"Please do me a favor…" Anthonia requested.

"Oh…okay. Tell me." The Doctor replied.

"Um…."
Anthonia bit her lower lip.

"Please don't tell my family about my status…" Anthonia requested and the Doctor was stunned.

"Why? It's best they know considering the fact that you are under the police custody. It would enable them work hard to getting you out of there." The Doctor adviced.

"I understand but….I don't want to be a bother. I don't need their pity. Especially when my unborn baby is involved."

"And…my Mother, she'd go crazy just to get me out..I know that. Since am pregnant but….I don't want that. Please….." Anthonia pleaded and the Doctor could barely believe what she was hearing.

Anyone in her place would grab that opportunity immediately.

The ward door opened and the Singh's rushed in accompanied by her Father and Mother.

"My baby…" Her Mother sighed rushing to her bed side hugging her warmly.

"Mother.." Anthonia smiled weakly and stared at the Doctor hopefully.

Her Mother withdrew and caressed her face.

"What happened to you my baby?. You look so pale…what are they doing to you?.." Her Mother lamented.

Anthonia glanced at the Singh's before facing her Mother.

Janvi rushed to her bedside and sat next to her.

"Where's Aditi?" Anthonia asked.

"He's on his way. He is super worried." Janvi notified.

"What's wrong with her Doctor?" Aditi's Mother asked as she tried avoiding Anthonia's gaze.

Anthonia glanced at the Doctor.
She obviously couldn't do it….
Lie to her family that all was well…

"Am fine." Anthonia said and everyone faced her.

"I just….felt weak. Probably due to poor feeding. That's all." Anthonia said and the Doctor sighed lowly.

"Is it true Doctor?" Janvi asked and the Doctor nodded.

"She needs extra care. The prison is not healthy for her. Another week there won't be nice on her." The Doctor advised.

"I'll give you all some privacy." She added and left the ward.

"How's Granny?" Anthonia asked and Aditi's Mother smiled.

"She is well."

"Are you lying to me?" Anthonia asked and she sighed.

"Listen Anthonia my dear…." Aditi's Mother said and carefully walked over to her bedside.

"I …personally…believe you are innocent. Your prints wasn't found on her body. None was. It could only be a coincidence. Maybe she slipped or something but trust me ..I promise to resolve this issue." She assured and Anthonia smiled.

"I want to hug you Mother…can I?" Anthonia muttered and Aditi's Mother was stunned.

"Yes dear…yes.." she sighed and they hugged longingly.

The door soon opened and Aditi rushed in accompanied by Diya.
She didn't appear happy.

"My love!" He exclaimed rushing to her side as his Mother gave him the needed space.

He sat on the bed and hugged Anthonia real tight.

"Goodness…I was worried sick.." He sighed and kissed her forehead.

Anthonia chuckled.
"Am fine Aditi. Trust me." Anthonia assured and he shook his head.

"Am getting you out asap. You wouldn't last there a week baby…I can't lose you to those an!mals." Aditi said and Diya scoffed lowly.

She hated the ongoing show.
How could Aditi still believe her?

Location: Singh's Mansion.

Diya watched through the window as Aditi's jeeps rolled in.

She bit her lower lip bitterly.
He returned so late probably because he had accompanied that wife of his back to the prison where she belonged.

When he had finally gotten into his room,Diya got ready to go meet him.

****

"Coming…"

Aditi walked towards the door and opened it.

"Sunshine…" He exclaimed.

He didn't expect her to still be awake.

"Can I?" She asked.

"Oh…yeah…"
He stepped aside and she walked in.

The room felt nice to her since that girl hasn't been in there for almost a week.

"I was worried." Diya said and Aditi chuckled.

"About me?"
"You really don't have to be worried yunno. Am able to look after myself. All I care about now is my wife." Aditi replied and Diya clenched her fists.

"Yeah.. right." She mumbled under her breath.

She watched as Aditi sat on the bed and began taking off his rings.

She missed those peaceful moments back in the U.S where she would be in his arms at sunrise.

Now…. another lady has taken him away from her already.
She made her do crazy things just to get her love back.

Aditi had never thought about love but in less than five months, a little girl made him think otherwise.

"You should sit yunno." Aditi said breaking into her channel of thoughts.

"When you got married…." Diya blurted and Aditi faced her surprised.

"Why didn't you..tell me?." Diya asked and he arched a brow in disbelief.

Was she really asking him that?

It was at that time he thought of it.
Why didn't he ever tell her of it?

"I dunno." He simply shrugged and Diya scoffed.

"We are besties Adi ….I should have been the first to be told apart from your family." Diya said and he sighed pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Why are we talking about this?" He asked.

Diya exhaled going to sit on the bed next to him and she took hold of his hand staring right into his eyes.

"I loved you…." She blurted and he was stunned to the core.

"I have loved you since the beginning. I deserved to know that the expert playboy I had as a bestie was ready to get married. At least,it would have helped me move on rather than …. believing in something that wouldn't happen until I got here…. and got real nasty." Diya said and Aditi only stared at her surprised.

He couldn't believe she was saying all that.

"You should have told me Adi!" Diya half yelled jerking his hand free and she stood up palming her face.

Aditi stood up and tried to touch her.
He could clearly hear her sobbing.

"I loved you so much…a lot more than you ever thought of. I could k.ill for you Adi…" she sobbed into her palms and Adi could feel his chest get heavy.

He had never felt that easily moved by someone's tears but…. Anthoniamade it possible.

He felt guilty…but why?

She deserved to know right?

He sighed and turned her to himself hugging her soothingly.

"All I wanted was true love…but I lost it.." Diya sighed holding unto him.

"Oh sunshine…am sorry.." Aditi sighed caressing her hair.
