Authoress POV

Oh no!

Nathasha's words gripped her real good as all the mockery that were thrown at her at the change room by her fellow girls flooded in.

Nathasha was getting to winning but Anthoniawas lagging behind as all her brain screamed was 'loser!'

"No!" She mentally screamed snapping out of her trance determinantly not going to give Nathasha another chance to mock her and as fast as lightening, Anthoniacarried on with her race after five seconds of stopping earning encouraging chants.

She drew so close to Nathasha who in turn increased her speed but was no match for Anthoniawho seem to have machine legs.

Anthoniafled past her closing the gap between her and the finish line.... and.... WINNER!.

Everyone including other houses found themselves celebrating the goddess of the school race.

Anthoniapanted tiredly while Nathasha fumed.
"You are still a loser!" Nathasha spat at Anthoniawho got ready to reply but ... different cheers and screams were heard and both turned to look at the direction of the noise when they saw the unbelievable.

Anthoniawas the most stunned.
Just at the entrance of the field...was a crowd of students being kept at bay by escorts protecting somebody.
Not just anyone....it was Aditi.

Anthoniagrinned and faced Nathasha.
"Who's the loser now?" She chuckled and Nathasha growled before stomping away.

Anthoniafaced Aditi's direction and their gazes met tho he was wearing sunglasses.

He'd really come for the event.
It all made Anthoniafeel so good.

More events took place and the 800m races was up.



Anthonia POV

We were all fixed at the starting point and once again...Nathasha was next to me and it seemed like a deliberate fixing.

She'd dare not taunt me again knowing she has nothing to hold me for.

In no time,the race began and I took off running and blending with the wind that washed my face.

I was living in the moment... loving the wind until I kicked against something and went crashing to the grass as I let out an ear piercing scream and quickly rolled onto my butt.

My sweat pants had torn at the knee area where a deep cut was now situating in my knee.
I groaned in deep pains.

Normally, I would have gotten immediate medical attention but the race was still on.
I glanced up to see my fellow competitors approaching me and carefully got on my feet as the pains shot through my leg.

I limped are slowly began to run... adapting to the massive pain I was receiving.

I was almost there...so close...

I must have missed my steps causing my foot to twitch.

"Aargh!" I screamed falling back on the grass and I felt my head hit something tiny but sharp.

I groaned weakly trying to get back on my feet but felt a sharp pain and I fell back down hard.

I sat up looking at my leg.
I couldn't feel my foot anymore and Nathasha was so close already.

The finish line was just three steps away.
I couldn't run cause of my feet neither could I crawl cause of my bleeding knee.

I laid back on the grass and dragged myself all the way to the finish line panting as my head throbbed and felt like exploding.

I raised my head and finally placed an arm across the finish point and the last I heard was happy cheers and I fazed out.

Writers POV

The first and last time she had fallen, he couldn't comprehend how he felt.
She had won at last.

The house masters rushed to where she laid and sprinkled some water on her there by making her regain consciousness slightly for sometime.

She was carried to her house canopy where quick first aid treatment would be administered to her.

"Ow!" She groaned as a female nurse tore the sweat pants material around her wounded knee.
It was really bleeding alot and the cut was deep.

The other cut she had gotten by the side of her head added massively to how dizzy she felt.

Everyone suddenly began to give way.
"Anthonia!" Janvi screamed terrified on seeing how she looked so messed up.

One of Aditi's guard stepped forward.
"That's enough nurse. We'll take it from here." He ordered and she nodded quickly moving aside.

He was about lifting Anthoniain his arms.
"Stop!" Aditi finally spoke up causing everyone around to wonder.

He stepped forward and carefully lifted Anthoniain his arms surprising everyone.

Her arms subconsciously encircled his neck as he stepped out of the canopy with his escorts and they headed for their ride.

Everybody was stunned at the turn of events.
Soon...six flashy jeeps all rolled out of the school premises.

Aditi ordered his chief guard to call the family doctor and he glanced at Anthoniawho laid at the back seat with her head on his laps.

The doctor was done with his business and Aditi had seen him off before returning to the room.

He walked to the bedside where she laid sleeping.

Suddenly,he chuckled.
She had really put herself in such a pitiful state just to win?.

Hmm..

His phone suddenly rang out and he excused himself from the room.

Later......

Anthonia POV

I was awake... I knew it and slowly, I tried parting my eyelids.

They felt heavy and my head throbbed like no other.

Slowly,my eyes opened.
Everything was all hazy at first and soon... I began to see clearly.

The bathroom door opened and closed as I looked to see Aditi.
He was wearing a bathrobe.

I sighed and tried sitting up.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you..." He suddenly said and headed for the dressing table.

I scoffed rolling my eyeballs going through with my plan but the sharp pain I received in both my legs made me stay put.

I heard Aditi scoffed.
I wasn't watching so I didn't know when he had already gotten dressed.

"You really had to put up such a great show huh..." I heard Aditi say and I faced his direction.

He was busy combing his hair.

"You technically got everyone worried about your safety.." he scoffed.

"Including you?" I blurted and grinned at him.
He didn't respond as there was silence for a while.

"I'll go get the girls. They've been waiting for you to wake up." He muttered and stepped out of the room.

I exhaled leaning further into the bed.

The door soon bolted open and they rushed in.
Janvi,Jaya and Lara.

"Anthonia!" They sighed rushing to hug me and l winced.
They were holding me too tight.

"Sorry.." they apologized and I only smiled.

"Where is everyone?" I asked as they sat around me.

"Temple. It's Sunday already." Lara replied and I was stunned.

"How long was I unconscious?" I asked.

"Ermm....18 hours.." Janvi said and I gasped.

"What the hell happened to me?!" I queried.

"I'll tell you..."Jaya offered and told me every single thing from how I lost consciousness,was revived and taken to the canopy.
While receiving care, Aditi had shown up and requested to take me.
Surprisingly, he carried me in his arms!.

"Hold on! Did you just say Aditi carried... like.. carried me?" I asked unsure of what I heard.

"Yup...he brought you back home for medical attention." Janvi replied and I felt my cheek grew hot in embarrassment.

Jeez!

How dare he touch me?

Jaya who kept on talking said something that caught my attention.

"Hold on Jaya.. what did you say?" I asked.

"Your sports house won overall most thanks to you." She recapped and a wide smile formed across my lips.

Jeez!
We won!
We'd actually won

My mind suddenly wandered off to Nathasha.
"How about the yellow house?" I asked.

Janvi suddenly began to laugh so hard that she began to choke.

"What is it?" I asked wearing a crumpled look.

"Hold on.. hold on Anthonia.... hahahaha..." Janvi kept laughing as Jaya and Lara giggled.

"Enough already and the me what happened?" I demanded.

"Well...the yellow house emerged fourth and last overall including the race .... I mean ...the one Janvi took part in. She's such a loser." Janvi sneered and I was forced to laugh.

Wow!

I won...in every aspect.


† Days Later †

Anthonia POV

I limped out of the bathroom closing the door behind me.
Aditi was at the balcony prolly gazing at the dark sky.

It was as if it would rain soon.

I shrugged moving to the bed and mass myself comfortable under the duvet.

I've missed school so much.
It's been over a week now... and am yet to fully recover.

Today was Saturday and am certain I'd resume on Monday.
I miss Kaeya a lot tho we chat everyday.

After a long while of not being able to sleep, Aditi walked into the room and to the dressing table as he picked up a stick of cigarette from a pack and litted it.

In no time,he was drawing smoke out of it profusely and I made sure he didn't notice that I wasn't asleep.

The stenchy smell of the smoke soon got to me.
Ugh!
Isn't he aware that I was there or was he blind?

I watched his back from where he stood.
Jeez!

After a short while,he got rid of that stick and headed for the bathroom.

Perfect!
I'll show him!

I carefully got off the bed when I heard the shower running and limping off to the table where I saw the pack and I smirked.

I quickly took it and headed to the bed as I kept the pack beneath my pillow and laid back down just in time as Aditi stepped out of the bathroom.

I didn't have any idea how he looked as I was busy with acting out my sleep.

Shortly, I heard movements and opened an eye to see Aditi searching for the pack with a crumpled look.

"Am sure I left it here.." He muttered and turned as I quickly closed my eyes.

Hope he didn't see me...

I sneaked a peek at him frustrated he looked and I giggled inwardly.

Hi five Anthonia!

He suddenly headed for the wardrobe and pulled out one of the drawers bringing out to my surprise.... another pack of cigarette!
What the h*ll!?

I stared at him horrified as he still couldn't see me.
How many more of it does he have!?
Jeez!

A knock resounded on the room door and I snapped my eyes shut.

"Yes?" Aditi responded icily heading for the door as I exhaled.

Kaeya would go haywire if I eventually tell her all of these about Aditi who loves smoking.....
My train of thoughts got interrupted.

"She's yet to wake up Mother." I heard Aditi say as I heard feet approaching my bed side and I guessed it was Mum-in-law who sat by me and carefully caressed my hair and I wriggled like a sleepy baby.

"Anthoniadear..." She said.
"Mmh..." I purred slowly opening my eyes meeting her loving gaze.

Mehn!
I deserve an acting award.

"How are you?" She asked.
I glanced at Aditi.

"Am feeling better Mother." I replied looking back at her and I noticed her beam.

Huh?

"Mother? Feels so beautiful coming from you.." she exclaimed and I smiled.

"Will you be able to come down for dinner or we should bring it up to you?" Mother-in-law asked.

"No Mother. I'll come down. It's been so long I ate with the family." I replied and I heard Aditi scoffed.

I'd*ot!

Mother aided me down to the dinning area while Aditi went to make a phone call..
Psst!..

Everyone was so happy to finally have me eat with them at the table that night.
