I cut through my bacon and ate from it.

"You love it?" Mum asked and I nodded.

"Yes Mum. They really cool tasty meals here"I replied and carried on with eating.

"Ready to talk about boys?" Mum asked and I glanced at her then nodded positively with a sigh.

I picked up my glass of juice and gulped part of its contents down.

"So, upon my arrival, few days later, I bumped into a pretty cool boy. He possesses the most adorable features and above all,he turned out to be my tour guide. At first,it all felt good till I started getting warned about him...." I went on and on telling her every single thing including how and why I said yes to Dave.

At the end, Mum had a smile on.
"My lil' D is becoming so mature" She teased and took a hold of my hands.

"Do you really like that Dave of a boy before saying yes?" Mum queried and I shrugged.

"Yes Mum. At least he makes me happy and I really don't have to fight the world to keep him" I replied and my Mum stared at me blankly then smiled.

"If your heart screamed Dave then you did a right thing by accepting him. Just don't give those girls the satisfaction of breaking you down. Stand firm and high" Mum advised and I smiled.

"I love you Mum"I sighed gratefully.
"Me too D. Your fee is twelve dollars" Mum joked and we both had a good laugh.

Diana Pov

I paid the cabby and walked into the grocery store with Silvia who jumped about happily.

We took a cart at the entrance and began shopping for the items on the list Mum had written down for us.

"Look Diana! Dairy milk!"Silvia drew my attention to it and I smiled at her before collecting two of it.

"Babe?".
I froze at that awfully familiar voice and turned to see Dave.

I shrieked crazily and hurried to hug him tightly.

"What are you doing here?" I asked and he shrugged.

"I left California to come visit my Aunt for the week before returning back for Christmas" Dave replied and I smiled.

"Wow! Am so glad you are here. Sweet coincidence"I said with a giggle and Dave hugged me again.

A tug on my skirt made me remember Silvia and I pulled off.

"Is she your sister?" Dave asked me and I was about to reply when Silvia chipped in.

"Yes I am and who are you? Her boyfriend?"Silvia asked and I gasped.

"Silvia!" I tugged her and Dave chuckled

"We have got to go Dave. I will see you last"I notified.

"No problem babe." He said and kissed my cheek.

As soon as we got home, Silvia rushed up to her bedroom prolly to meet up with the kids show she had been talking about all day.

I headed for the kitchen with the grocery bags and placed them on the island.

I quickly took out my phone and texted Dave telling him about me getting back home already and he replied saying he would call me I'm few seconds.

I stared at my phone screen patiently waiting for the call which came in soon and I didn't hesitate to take the call.

📞Babe!📞He called and I smiled.
📞Hi..📞I replied.

📞You have no idea how glad I am to have seen you today 📞He said and I chuckled.

📞Me too Dave. You never told me you had an Aunt here in Mexico or plans of coming to see her📞 I stated and he sighed.

📞My visit is based on a short notice babe. But anyways,it's a great thing that am here. We could hang out📞 He replied and I grinned.

📞Sure. When?📞 I asked and he chuckled.

"Where are you off to D?" Mum asked and I smiled.

"Am going out on a date" I replied brightly and Mum arched a brow.

"With who? Thought you said your boyfriend lives in California?" Mum asked and I chuckled.

"Yes Mum. But he is in town as we speak. I met him at the grocery store" I replied and she beamed.

"My goodness! Am so happy for you D!"Mum exclaimed and hugged me.

"Go have fun D and invite him for dinner tomorrow" Mum said and I nodded.

"I will Mum. Bye!" I baded and made a happy exit.

📞... I guess I will settle for the yellow colour then 📞 I said and she sighed.

📞Great. Talk to you later 📞 She replied and ended the call .

I tapped my phone on my palm as I watched the blue swimming pool absently.

"Why did she call?" Ryan asked and I turned in surprise to see him.

We were both watching a movie when my Mother called.

"It's about the opening ceremony of the charity home my parents sponsored. It's in a week" I replied and he nodded averting his gaze to the pool.

"Wanna swim?" He asked and I smrinked.

"Sure" I agreed.
We both went in to get our swim suits on.

I had purposely packed sexy bikini's for this and it's time to make great use of them.

I settled for a black bikini whose upper cut had a pair of strings that would be tied at my neck and another at my back.

The lower cut which was like a pantie and had strings that would hold it at both sides of my waist.

I stared at my reflection after fixing my hair in a ponytail.

The bikini was partial net in a way that it was barely see through.

I bit my lips coyly and headed out like that.

When I got to the pool, Ryan was already doing some swimming strokes and didn't notice me.

Slowly, I got into the pool and moved my legs to stay afloat when he finally noticed me and he did a quick scan of my upper body.

I smiled as if I didn't notice and began some strokes.

"You really started swimming without me huh?" I said.

"You took so long to come out"He replied and I splashed him water.

"Seriously?" He asked arching a brow and I nodded splashing him more as it led to him chasing me inside the pool till he caught me


I chuckled as he smrinked at me and I wrapped my legs around his waist.

"You are super lucky to catch me only cause you are so good at swimming."I sneered and be scoffed.

"You are so crazy" He said and I rolled my eyeballs.

"Crazy about you"I replied and he grinned before swimming off letting go of me.

Days had gone by with lots of events, Dave and Diana had lots of fun together till Dave finally went back to California.

Christmas had come and gone with the fortunate ones celebrating it with their complete family while some spent it alone.

In a few hours, it would be a New Year alover the world and many anticipated it.

I and the teenagers in the neighborhood stood outside our houses lighting firecrackers while chattering happily.

In two hours,the clock would strike 12 midnight and we would embrace a new year!!

I adjusted my snow coat and lit another cracker giggling like a child.

📞.... I will speak with you later Ryan. The new year countdown and my family awaits 📞Nathan notified and I sighed ending the call.

I glanced at the wall clock in my room as the seconds hand kept ticking till the clock struck midnight and a new year.

Once again, I crossed over to a new year without the people I love, without my family, not even my girlfriend.

Anthonia had to go back to her home to join her family in crossing over.

"Happy new year.....to myself" I muttered as my eyes grew hot with tears.


A Day Later

Diana Pov

I laid on my bed happily replying to the girls in our WhatsApp group chat about how fun our new year was.

Denise: I actually went out on a family date yesterday. It was xo lit!

Me: You are lucky. Couldn't go out. Dad had to travel. How about Delia?

Delia: My siblings and I went to see the new movie that came out. By d way,hw y'all preparing 4 resumption

Me: Gr8!

Denise : Preparing good

Me : I have made a list of snacks I would bring along

Delia : Me too

Denise : Meaning our room would b xo full! Yum!

Me : Lol

Delia : Wen r u gals arriving? Cuz am thinking abt Saturday

Denise : Same here. I am longing 4 my upper bunk.


Me : I will be coming on Sunday. Hopefully I will spend Friday and Saturday wit my entire family b4 leaving

Denise : I had a fun filled holiday I tell ya

Delia : Don't forget to bring that goodie Denise!

I lit the stairs and was stunned to see her.

"Ruby!?" I called and she turned to look at me before opening her arms gesturing me in for a hug which I scurried into.

"Aww lil' bro. I have missed you" She cooed and kissed my hair before we disengaged.

"I have missed you more Ruby. You came alone?" I asked glancing at the entrance direction.

"Yeah. Carl couldn't make it. Be opted to join his brother to a business trip"Ruby replied and I nodded then glanced at her baby bump.

"Wow. It's so visible now." I exclaimed touching it and she chuckled.

"It's over five months now. Hopefully, you would be home when I give birth" Ruby said and I grinned.

"Of course. Am so excited to be an uncle." I replied.

"Have you had lunch yet? Psst...what am I even asking, you are a pregnant lady. Sandy!" I called.

"Coming Master!" A pair of scuttling feet followed and the chief maid appeared and bowed.

"Prepare a nice lunch for two. Our favourite" I ordered and she bowed I'm affirmation.

"Com'on Ruby, we could pass the time by the pool"I urged.

"I heard you and Anthonia are an item now" Ruby said and I smiled briefly then nodded.

"Yeah." I replied and she beamed.

"How did it happen? Am certain Mother and Father would be glad if they find out" Ruby said and I rolled my eyeballs.

"Right" I muttered and gulped down my wine.

Ruby reached for my hand across the table where we sat under the mini bush bar.

"I understand exactly how you are feeling right now. I went through this for years till I met Paul through your friend Carl and then my life took a great turn. I was so happy when I heard you finally began to date after quitting your bad boy life. At least, Anthonia would be by your side most of the way till you eventually marry her." Ruby poured out and squeezed my hand gently before picking up her glass of pineapple juice.

"How about we go to the mall tomorrow? I miss the times we do shop together. Besides, I need new clothes now am pregnant and you are the right dude when it comes to shopping"Ruby suggested and I grinned.

"Glad you know".

"Bye!"I waved as the car rolled out of the premises.

"You seem a lot happier than the last time you were leaving" Dad noticed and I smiled with a shrug.

"I guess,"I simply replied.

"Did you remember to pack up a perfect dress for valentine's night and prom?" Dad suddenly asked and I bit my lower lip.

Can't believe I forgot!

"You forgot right?"Dad asked upon my long silence and I nodded bitting my lower lip.

"Seriously? How on earth would you look good for Dave? You ladies can seriously be so selfish"Dad jeered and I felt my cheeks heat up.

"If you could please stop by the mall, I would appreciate it"I finally voiced.

"Now you are speaking like my Diana"Dad said and I groaned.

As Diana alighted the car with her Dad, she heard her name being called and no sooner, she was deeply engulfed in a giant hug from her friends.

Months ago,or last year when she had arrived like this , but there was no one to welcome her this way.

She introduced them to her Dad before they retrieved her things from the car while she hugged her Father goodbye.

"Have fun Princess" He winked at her before making an exit.

"Com'on Diana, let's go"The girls urged and they moved on while chatting happily.

Well.... it's a new term and a new year.
So many odd things would change this new year and Diana had decided that already.

"Has Dave arrived yet? He had gone offline two days ago"I asked and they shook their heads.

"We got no idea buh you can still check around for him" Denise replied and I nodded then continued fixing my things.

Settling down wasn't as hard as the first time and I headed out to go find Dave at his dorm.

As I got into his dorm building, I saw few students at the lounge hanging out as couples.

I braced myself and headed for the last wing and third door.

I placed a knock on the door and seconds passed before a black haired guy stuck out his head after opening the door then scanned me and rolled his eyeballs before opening the door wide for me to step in.

"Dave, you've got a guest"He announced as I walked in then he shut the door hard.

I did a quick glance behind me to see he had left the room.
Weird....

I turned and faced Dave who was already standing before me then he hugged me longingly.

"I have missed you babe" He groaned.

"Me too buh your roomie..."I paused and he broke the hug.

"Don't worry about him babe. He is only jealous"Dave assured and pulled me in for a breathtaking k*ss which I melted into.

I missed this.
My arms encircled his neck as I tried deepening the k*ss but he pulled off with a chuckle.

"You are acting so needy babe"He said and pulled off going to sit on his bed and I sat on the chair.

"You started it"I scoffed and he smrinked.

"You just arrived?" He asked and I nodded.

"But it's more than two hours already"I replied and he nodded.

"Ready to start classes again?"Dave asked and I picked up a pen from the table absently toying with it.

"I guess. I'm beginning to love this school Dave."I replied and he chuckled.

Denise Pov

I gasped after opening the door to see Mason and I ushered him in.

"Why did you come all the way here? Am so lucky those girls aren't in else I would not head the end of it" I said and grinned.

"I had to come darling cause I missed you. Besides, I would love to walk you to the dinning hall tonight."He replied and I felt my cheeks warm up.

"So now you are here, I guess I could alleviate my boredom by polishing your nails"I suggested and he gasped.

"No way darling." He deadpanned and I frowned then made a cute face.

"Why? Don't you love me again? I only requested for something little"I whined and he sighed.

"Fine! Alright.. you can paint my nails" He gave in.

"Yaay!"I giggled and grabbed my make up kit nearby.
