Diana Pov

Silence filled the room while I ate the rice and beef stew he got me.

He only took a bite from his burger and kept it aside.
After what he had said,none of us uttered any word.

Every time I tried to speak up, I ended up swallowing it back.

It took longer than usual to finish my meal and he quickly fixed the disposable pack in the waste bin and headed out, prolly to ease himself or something.

I got off the bed and itched my neck before zoning out.

I should really apologize to him.
The silence hurts.

Ryan soon returned with a small white polythene then gave it to me which I took and glanced inside.

"There is a little note in it with instructions on how to take them. Am certain you would be able to head for the dorm area cause am certain you would turn down my offer to walk you." Ryan said and I tried to speak but lost my voice.

He turned and picked up his bag and headed for the door.

"Ryan..." I managed to call in a low voice and he paused glancing over his shoulder for some seconds the walked out.

I bit my lower lip slumping back on the bed as my eyes burned with hot tears threatening to spill.

I sighed lifting my head as I blinked back my tears, reached for my bag and proceeded to leave when my gaze fell on a item on the other bed in the ward.

It was flat and wrapped up with a gift wrap of red colour and had heart patterns.

I reached and picked it up then slowly opened it to behold a 'Get well soon' card.

I opened it and saw a short note;...

I hope u ova cum the allergic reactions my Cherry. They look offensive on your pretty skin. Get well soon.


Ryan

I smiled widely at the note and sighed pressing it on my chest.

"Thanks Ryan. Thanks." I muttered with closed eyes.

I soon made an exit and was surprised to see students still outside tho it's barely past 9...

Ryan actually left me.
It's my fault but also not mine.
Ryan deserves a friend but isn't getting the chance.

I had to accept Dave just to show Anthonia and her friends that I feel nothing for Ryan...
Yet!..she still despises me.

I definitely made Ryan upset and I need to apologize to him.
After a long lonely walk, I arrived at the dorm area and headed for my building.


Ryan Pov

I sighed as she finally walked into the building.
I couldn't bring myself to let her walk alone so I followed from a distance without her noticing.

I dunno but, no matter how I try, she can never be the friend I want,a friend that l desire.

The more we get close, the more we drift apart.

It's more like there's a force pulling us away from each other.

Diana is scared, scared of being close to me and that is a huge factor separating us.

But I have decided to fulfil her wish. I would steer away.
Her friends seem to even despise me.

Ugh!

Diana Pov

As soon as I dropped my bag,the girls stood before me arching their brows and I sighed.

"I have a serious explanation for that"I said.

"What could that be? Diana, you are hurt because of that guy." Denise retorted.

"Am not!" I snapped and breathed deeply.
"Am not. I failed the trial. I messed up and it's a normal thing to get that penalty. Ryan has no business in it. It's my fault. I failed and it placed me in this situation. Ryan is not related to it." I added in a low tone.

"You said you don't see him so how did he appear back at the clinic? And with his bag and food for you?" Delia queried.

"He had taken me to the clinic after I disagreed. Besides, I needed help. He had also gone out to get me something to eat when you two came in. Look, yes I know we see each other but Anthonia is not even aware." I explained.

"There you go again Diana. Do you wanna get expelled?" Denise asked.

"Ryan deserves a friend!" I retorted.

"Be deserves one. He is a human and has the rights." I sighed.

"Tell that to Anthonia. He deserves a friend but not you. Not someone like you, not someone like us! We aren't up to their standard. I still recall what our old roomie went through Diana. Please" Delia said and I held my head tiredly.

"Back then they weren't dating but now they are. Think about it Diana,she could do worse. Just focus on your relationship with Dave cause this might affect it. Just forget about Ryan." Denise concluded and I sat down on my bed heavily.

"We love you and only need the best for you Diana." Delia said.

Next day...

Diana Pov

Today seemed to have crawled as it took so long for recess to finally arrive.

I haven't seen Ryan around yet and don't feel like going to the canteen so I just headed for my next class after visiting the restroom to apply my cream.

During the previous class, I had a tough time itching my body while trying to concentrating and despite the fact I sat at the back, few students noticed and began to silently laugh at me.

The red spots were so visible already and I couldn't hide it even with some make up cause it would itch alot more and I need to apply the cream regularly.

When I was through with applying my cream, recess had not even gotten up to twenty minutes.

I finally decided to go have some lunch, after all, I have pills to take but then again,my face.

I sighed tiredly exiting the restroom.
The classes I had attended had students who laughed at me so it won't make any difference.

I went back to the class, took my bag and made my way to the canteen.

As I arrived, I spotted Jane who waved at me and I smiled at her.
The students around were already staring at my face and legs.

🗣️ Anthonia is so cruel.🗣️

🗣️I feel bad for her.🗣️

🗣️ Would she appear like this on Val's night? Ugh!🗣️

🗣️ Obviously! She is a perfect cheerleader 🗣️

It was relieving to know that some students still had good emotions and didn't mock me.
The last comment really gave me some boost in confidence.

I ordered for some sausage rolls and coke before heading to an empty snack booth.

I didn't have the guts to stand and search for my friends.

I took a long time before I began to unwrap my snack when three trays were dropped on my table and I looked up to see Denise, Delia and Abigail with sunny smiles which suddenly appeared on my face as they sat down.

"You all came"I stuttered.
"Of course Hun. You are our bff not some plague." Abigail replied and I grinned.

"Thanks alot"I appreciated.
"Thank me with your coke. You can have my soda." Denise said and made a quick exchange as I chuckled.



Anthonia Pov

I watched them for a while and faced my burger. The red spots would be a great warning to her not to mess around me or Ryan.

I glanced at Ryan only to see him staring.... staring at Diana!

Then he sighed and faced his untouched snack.

I fisted my hands in anger under the table.

"Ryan, eat up." Nathan suddenly said and I looked at Ryan who only sighed.

"Not hungry." He notified as he stood up and walked out.

"Did you guys have a fight?" Carl asked.

"No. I'll be back." I replied and hurried after Ryan.



Diana Pov

I was quick to notice how Ryan left the canteen.
He surely didn't look happy one bit and Anthonia was going after him.

I licked my lower lip and tried to engage myself in the conversation going on between my friends.

Time went by fast and I was already heading for my next class.
After history which would begin in minutes, I would be having physics practicals and the chances of seeing Ryan is so high.

I seriously can't believe I haven't heard from Dave since the game yesterday.
He didn't even check up on me.

"Babe!..." I heard a familiar call and angrily slammed my locker shut.

He tried touching me but I spun around to let him see my cold face.

"Babe.." He called once again trying to touch me but I flinched.

"Don't" I hissed and stormed off with him hurrying after me.

"Babe... hold on please." Dave pleaded but I gave him no chance as I ran into an elevator that was already filled up and the doors closed at Dave's face.

I let out an angry sigh and the ride soon ended.

I came out and headed for the class I have then grabbed a seat at the back.

No sooner, Dave hurried in and caught sight of me then came to meet me.

"Babe... please hear me out." He pleaded and I scoffed.

"Why? Dave, I fell ill and was at the clinic but you never came. Ok.. let's say you never knew last night, what about today? Dave how about today!?" I snapped and he sighed.

"Am sorry. Please, you know I don't act this way. I was caught with school work and only got the chance now. Am sorry babe, please." He pleaded and I rolled my eyeballs.

"I need time." I concluded and he tiredly headed for a vacant desk.

The teacher soon arrived and lesson began.

"Good day class.." She concluded and walked out.

I gathered my things when Dave came to me again.

"At least allow me walk you to the lab." He offered.

"Am fine alone." I bluntly turned down, carried my bag and walked away leaving him.

Diana Pov

Gosh!
The sun that afternoon felt so hot.

I loosened my neck tie as I walked towards the lab and soon arrived it.

I headed inside the building and made my way to my class.
When I arrived,it was almost full and only an experiment island serving as a table was left.

I occupied the stool at the extreme close to the wall and placed my bag aside before taking out my book to go through some things.

Someone occupied the other stool nonchalantly and I perceived it...
Ryan's cologne!

I looked at my side to really confirm him sitting at my side.
Jeez!

I felt my heart flip when he glanced at me and faced the book he had taken out without saying a word.

Still on with the silent treatment...
I sighed and began to absently itch my body till the teacher arrived.

Lessons were taught and soon, the teacher informed us of a class project and we would be working in two.

Luckily,a cliché didn't happen this time. I got paired with a blondie according to our names in the class register.

I felt glad in a way that I wouldn't be stuck with Ryan over some project.

Time crawled on and I found myself staring at Ryan more and more.
He stood by me in all my trying times yet, all I did was to push him away.

"... that's all for today class. Good day." The teacher concluded and made an exit.

I sighed deeply as Ryan began to pack up.
I tiredly fixed my jotter into my bag and stood up just when Ryan was about to leave.

"Ryan!" I called ready to apologize but he didn't respond and headed out with me trailing behind him.

I tried so hard not to attract the eyes of students till we exited the building.

"Ryan!..." I called again.
"Please.." I pleaded and he stopped two feets away and didn't turn.

"Look...I know what I did was so wrong. You helped me alot but all I did was to push you away." I began and bit my lower lip.

"Am sorry." I apologized and there was silence before he walked away without a word.

I stumbled backwards with a heavy sigh

Oh heavens..

I ran my fingers through my hair then alighted the stairs when I heard my name being called and Dave jogged to meet me.

"Babe..." He breathed falling in track with me but I gave him no reply.

"Babe.." He tried touching me and I stopped walking.

"What do you want Dave!? What!?" I snapped facing him and be sighed.

"I know I acted so stu.pid babe, I was wrong to have left you all alone that night." He said.

"Last night..." I corrected with a scoff.

"Anyhow but babe am sorry. It won't happen ever again." He apologized.

"Fine.. I forgive you." I finally said after a long pause and he pulled me into a hug.

"Thank you so much babe. I love you." He exclaimed and I reluctantly hugged him back.

Diana Pov

"I honestly can't join in the pool game girls. I have an itchy skin to fix." I turned down hours after we got back from the church.

The church was actually located near the teachers living area.

"Awwn... It would have been nice to have you tag along. No problem tho. We would still get you some drinks on our way back." Delia replied and I smiled watching them fill up a bag with the bikinis, sunscreen cream,shades and lot more.

"You can have fun watching comedies online." Denise suggested and I nodded.

"Have fun girls!" I said and they bade me before leaving.

I exhaled deeply sinking further into my bed where I laid.

Valentine's night or let me say day is in four days and my skin still has itchy spots which is yet to heal tho the itching has reduced a little.

A soft knock on the room door made me jerk to reality.
"Who?" I demanded and the door opened to reveal Dave.

I let out a happy smile as he stepped in then shut the door.

"Hey!" He cooed walking over to me and sealed my lips with a kiss before sitting next to me.

"You seriously didn't join your friends?" Dave asked and I nodded.

"I can't expose my skin now." I replied and he smiled.

"You are still ever pretty babe but nevertheless, I got you lots of sausage rolls and coke I know you would love." He notified handing the brown paper bag he came with as I collected it happily and confirmed the content true .

"O my!" I exclaimed and took out a roll, opened it and began to munch happily.

"Mmh .. so hot and creamy. How did you get it?" I asked.

"I baked it." He replied and I froze staring at him then I glanced at the half eaten roll.

"You did?" I asked with a half full mouth and he nodded grinning.

"Whoa! You have literally blown my mind. It tastes so good." I exclaimed and continued bitting in delight.

"Yeah. Am in bakery class and kinda asked my teacher to let me exercise my hands specially for you." Be cooed and I flushed.

"Is your dress for Val ready?" Dave asked and I nodded.
"But I won't be wearing the gown I bought. I would wear the back up outfit cause of my rash." I replied.

"About that, how is it?" He asked.
"Much better,tho I still itch when tiny beads of sweat appear on my skin."I replied glancing at my legs.

"Anthonia is so cruel. Wish I could smack her face." Dave seethed and I touched his arm.

"You don't have to wish. Am already getting better." I assured and he stared at me blankly for long.

I sighed, placing the paper bag aside and faced him fully.

"Kiss me." I muttered and he arched a brow then I nodded.
"Come on." I urged and he slowly closed the gap between our lips as he tasted like a fresh pineapple.

I broke the kiss staring into his eyes.
"You are some pineapples?" I asked and he grinned.

"Yeah, I did but am about to eat your soft lips" He groaned enclosing the kiss my eyelids dropped automatically.

Our lips fought for dominance and I was so close to being breathless.

His hand slipped to my heaving chest as he captured my melons giving it the perfect massage till I quickly ended the kiss again and he groaned.

"What?".

"We are in school,you are in the girls dorm and the dorm mistress might walk in here any minute"I stated and he groaned.

"Yeah right."

I chuckled at his disappointed face.
"We could watch some comedy if you want." I offered.

"That would be much better." He heaved and headed for the desk trying to activate the system.

Over the months,Dave and I have had a really intimate relationship tho we haven't gotten to the greatest peak.

Well...

I bit my lower lip and got off the bed to join him at the desk.

Days Later

Writer Pov

It's Valentine's Day!

Everyone woke up with high spirits and felt excited for the party that would take place soon.

The entire dorms and class buildings had red roses alover.

Heart shaped balloons filled the halls admist happy chattering about the upcoming party and what to wear.

Despite that, everyone still had to go to class for lectures.
Diana was among the students who were lucky not to have any class till few hours, despite that,she still had to prepare for class early to go respond to the call of the principal which was delivered to her by the school president,a boy in Grade 12.

While getting ready, Diana feared for herself so much.
She didn't inform her friends when she got the message after class the previous day else they would become scared.

Diana could barely fix her button without shaking.
Could it be possible that Anthonia had finally succeeded in getting her expelled?.

With a heavy heart, she picked up her bag pack and exited the room with a downcast look..

Diana Pov

I was directed to the principal's office in a building next to the Admin building which I entered.

I took the elevation to the last floor and stepped out into a freezing air conditioned area which added to my anxiety.

I came across a lady at a desk and told her my reason of being there and she escorted me to an immediate right turn having a short well decorated corridor and she went in for a moment before she returned.

"You can go in." She notified and I earned the goose bumps.
