Chapter 140: Are you ready for the truth?
~Gwen's POV~
I lied when I said I could hear the heat bond. I don't think anyone has ever experienced a burning sensation lodged in their chest that even water or anything cold can quench.
That's how I felt. It felt like my entire body was fire and alive. I am so fucking sensitive.
I can't continue to live like this. A child right? So be it. I will have the child so I can be free from this madness. The burning ache moves and then focuses on my abdomen.
For a moment, it felt like something was trying to push out something within me but it felt very hot and painful at the same time. Almost as though I was being sliced bit by bit.
"Ahhh... Help me, Drogon," I cried out. Wishing he would come. I didn't want Anastasia or Ava to ever see me this way again.
My fingers slightly grazed my nipples, and it felt almost like it was the right thing to do. So I did. And I started focusing on the pleasure and not the pain. I continued rubbing on them.
I moaned out at the crazy sensations. I will help myself. It never occurred to me it could help. So now that I have done it, I realized it soothed the burning ache.
I rubbed and pinched my nipples, my moans and harsh breathing filling the room. I spread my legs hoping to stop the roaring flames there.
I brought my finger to my womanhood. Slowing dragging my fingers on the mound.
"Arghh... Ana, that feels so good..." I pinch my clit and slipped my finger inside.
"Mother Earth. I need more, Drogon. Don't stop." The more I imagined it was the both of them, the quicker my pleasure kept building up.
I rubbed and even bounced my bosom while, at the same time, following the pace I knew Drogon and Anastasia would follow, and soon enough, I was seeing stars.
My eyes rolled to the back of my head. Overwhelmed by the amount of pleasure that was rolling through me. My body shook. I lay on the floor until I felt my body was no longer trembling.
And true to my experiment, the burning stopped. Why did it stop? I was happy it did but I am a little confused. Well, whatever the reason, I was happy, it stopped.
I wonder if Ana touches me if it will stop as well. There's only one way to find out. When the heat comes again. The funny thing is, I don't know when the next one will hit me.
I sighed. I picked myself up from the floor. I felt the presence of someone's gaze behind me, but I ignored whatever it was because I knew I was the only one in the room; plus, I didn't see any spirit around.
I went to the pool. Soak myself in the water. Waiting for the time, Anastasia would come in to pick us up. I don't know if Ava will appreciate Ana following us but I know for sure that we needed her protection.

Nohte Capital.
One thing about Nohte Capital is that no matter the time or day, it was always bright and bustling, with people and vendors always trying to sell their wares.
It was past midnight, and of course, there were still market men and women still shuffling about. Calling the attention of men and women to come to their store.
The journey was exhausting, and my body still felt like it would burst into flames at any moment. However, it was bearable now.
Anastasia kept looking at me with concern, but I avoided her eyes. I couldn't wait to tell her what I had discovered back at the palace, how I had found temporary relief.
Ava seemed lost in her own thoughts as we passed through the crowded streets. The vendors' calls merged into a chaotic sound around us, offering everything from exotic fruits to magical trinkets.
Clarai, one of the guards Ana had insisted on bringing, moved ahead of our group, her hand never far from the sword hidden beneath her cloak.
I had known her for years, a loyal soldier who had served Anastasia's family before pledging herself to her.
"This way," Clarai called over her shoulder, guiding us down a narrower street away from the main market. "I know an inn where we can spend the night."
We followed her through winding alleys until we reached a modest building with a painted sign showing a silver moon. Inside, the inn was warm and clean, if simple.
Clarai arranged for rooms while we waited, exhaustion settling into my bones now that we had stopped moving.
When she returned to us, her face was serious. "We should talk privately," she said, leading us to one of the rooms she had secured.
Once the door was closed behind us, Clarai spoke in a low voice. "I've been asking around about this woman you seek."
She looked directly at Ava. "The locals know of her. They say she lives on the outskirts of the city, in a small hut near the western woods."
"What else did you learn?" Ava asked eagerly.
Clarai grimaced. "She's crappy and has a bad temper, according to everyone who's dealt with her. Some even fear her. They say she doesn't suffer fools and has been known to curse those who waste her time."
"Wonderful," Ana muttered. "We've travelled all this way to meet someone who might turn us into toads."
"We need her," I reminded them. "Both Ava and I need answers she might have."
Clarai nodded. "We should rest tonight and seek her out in the morning. People say she's more agreeable earlier in the day before she starts drinking her special brews."
That night, I slept fitfully, the burning beneath my skin coming and going in waves. I didn't dare try my new discovery with Ava sleeping so close, though I longed for relief.
Instead, I endured, watching the moonlight slowly cross the floor as the hours passed.
Morning came too soon and not soon enough. We broke our fast with bread and honey before setting out, following Clarai's directions to the western edge of the city.
The woman's hut was exactly as described, small and weathered, with moon symbols painted on the door and herbs hanging from the eaves.
Smoke curled from a crooked chimney, carrying a scent I couldn't quite place but made my skin prickle even more.
Ava stepped forward and knocked. For a long moment, there was no response. Then the door opened, revealing a woman with wild silver hair and blue eyes so dark they seemed to absorb light rather than reflect it.
She looked at each of us in turn, her gaze staying on me. Before any of us could speak, she pointed a gnarled finger at me, her voice surprisingly strong.
"If you don't want to die," she said bluntly, "have a child and you will be free. Free to do whatever you want. However, if you don't, the next heat would be bad and you might meet your end, witch."
I stepped back, stunned by her words. How did she know? I hadn't said anything about my condition.
The woman turned to Ava next, her dark blue eyes narrowing. "How long do you want to continue like this, chosen one?"
"What do you mean?" Ava asked dumbly.
"I am saying everything the dark one's vessel said is true. The king might not be as innocent as you think."
Ava paled. "Is that all you can tell me?" She looked away, unable to meet the woman's penetrating gaze.
The woman laughed. "I can tell you more. Are you, however, ready for the truth?"
