Chapter 231: Siwan's Daughters.

~Third Person POV~

For two days, Ava and Lorraine lay unconscious. Haggar watched over them carefully, checking their breathing and giving them healing potions. But neither of them shown any sign of life even though they were still breathing.

On the second day, something unexpected happened.

Siwan, who had been sleeping like a lifeless doll for years, suddenly opened her eyes. She looked around the room with confusion, not knowing where she was or how much time had passed.

When her eyes found Haggar, recognition sparked in them. Then she saw Gwen sitting nearby, and her face showed surprise.

"Arabelle?" Siwan whispered, her voice weak from not speaking for so long. "Is that really you?"

Gwen looked up from the book she was reading. "Yes, Your Majesty. I am here."

Siwan remembered Gwen from long ago. Gwen had been in her service when she was pregnant with her children. She had been loyal and kind back then.

On the third day, when Siwan had gained more strength, she called Gwen.

"I need to know what happened," Siwan said, her voice shaking. "How long was I asleep? Where are my daughters? Please, tell me everything."

Gwen looked uncomfortable. "Your Majesty, it would be better if I showed you instead of trying to explain."

Siwan nodded, fear filling her eyes.

Gwen raised her hands and began changing some words softly. Bright green light began to glow from Gwen's finger tips, suddenly images began appearing in the head of Siwan. Vivid as if it was just happening again.

~FLASHBACK~

The room filled with moving mist, and suddenly they were looking at a scene from years ago.

Siwan saw herself as a younger woman, standing in a beautiful throne room in the third realm. The Moon Goddess Selene sat on her silver throne, her white hair flowing around her like water.

"You summoned me, Goddess," young Siwan said, bowing deeply.

"Yes, my dear child," Selene said with a sweet smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I have something important to show you."

The goddess waved her hand, and the room glowed. Immediately, a young girl with black hair appeared in the room. She looked exactly like Ava, but her hair was dark as night instead of silver.

"Siwan gasped. "My daughter! My second daughter! I thought you said she was destroyed!"

The black-haired girl turned to look at Siwan. But instead of love or recognition, her eyes were filled with hate.

"Who is this crazy woman, mother?" the girl asked Selene, her voice cold and angry.

"This is the woman who gave you away," Selene said smoothly. "The woman who didn't want you because you were different."

"Mother?" Siwan reached out toward her daughter, tears streaming down her face. "My baby, I never wanted to give you away. The goddess told me you were cursed! She said you would eventually die that it was better I gave you to her and she would take your life painlessly."

The black-haired girl laughed bitterly. "Cursed? The only curse is having you as a mother."

"Attack her," Selene commanded.

Without hesitation, the girl raised her hands. Black fire shot toward Siwan, who barely managed to dodge.

"Stop!" Siwan cried. "Please, I'm your mother! I love you! I didn't know better. I thought I was doing the right thing. I would never have given you away if she hadn't said you wouldn't survive."

But the girl kept attacking, her face showing no emotion. She was completely obedient to Selene, like a puppet following orders.

"Enough," Selene said, and the girl immediately stopped. "Leave us alone."

The black-haired girl bowed to Selene and walked away without looking back at Siwan.

Selene stood up from her throne and walked over to Siwan, who was crying on the floor.

"Does it hurt?" Selene asked with fake sweetness. "Seeing your own blood turn against you?"

"Why?" Siwan sobbed. "Why did you do this to my child?"

Selene's sweet mask fell away, revealing a cruel smile. "Because I planned everything from the beginning, you foolish woman."

"What do you mean?"

"The curse that affected your child in your womb? I manipulated that with the goddess of fate. I made sure one of your daughters would be born different and a puppet to me."

Siwan looked up in horror. "You... you did this on purpose?"

"Of course!" Selene laughed. "I needed a child with strong powers. Your daughters remind me so much of my sister Mene's powers. It's quite amusing, really."

"But why? What do you want with my children?"

Selene's eyes gleamed with evil. "I'm going to raise your second daughter for another hundred years. When her powers are fully ripe and strong, I will kill her and take those powers for myself."

"No!" Siwan screamed.

"Just like I did with my twin sister Mene," Selene continued. "I stole her powers and made them mine. Your daughter's powers are not as strong as Mene's were, but they will do for now."

Selene leaned down closer to Siwan. "And when the time is right, I will come for your other daughter too. The one you call Norelle. Her powers will be the greatest prize of all even better than Mene."

The vision began to fade as Selene's laughter echoed through the throne room.

The magical images disappeared, leaving Siwan and Gwen sitting in the quiet room.

Siwan broke down completely. She sobbed so hard that her whole body shook.

"I'm such a fool!" she cried. "I'm such a terrible mother! I didn't know how to protect my daughters!"

Gwen moved closer and put a comforting hand on Siwan's shoulder.

"I gave my own child to that monster," Siwan continued through her tears. "I believed her lies! And now one daughter is gone, turned into Selene's weapon. The other is stuck in this cycle of rebirth because of the gods."

She looked up at Gwen with desperate eyes. "What kind of mother am I? I failed them both!"

"You didn't know," Gwen said gently. "Selene is very good at lying and manipulating people. She has been doing it for thousands of years."

"But I should have protected them!" Siwan said. "That's what mothers are supposed to do! Instead, I handed my baby over to the enemy!"

Siwan covered her face with her hands. "My poor daughters. What have I done to them? How can I ever make this right?"

Gwen looked toward where Ava lay unconscious. "There might still be time to save her. But it won't be easy."

"I don't care how hard it is," Siwan said fiercely, wiping her tears. "I will do anything to save my daughter. Anything at all. I can't lose her too."

She looked at her sleeping daughter Ava, then at her mother, Lorraine who was still unconscious.

"Tell me what I need to do," Siwan said. "I won't fail them again."

" I do not have a way, Siwan. Ava can be saved but Lorraine, I am not sure of."

" You mean, I will lose my mother. But my daughter will live?" Siwan looked ready to break down further.

" Yes, Siwan. Ava is just resting because of the new power that awaken within her."
