Chapter 193: Erase you, myself.
~Raphael's POV~
The cloud of smoke still hung in everywhere. Haggar's garden was gone. Her home was ash.
I stayed on my knees. My hands were bloody from hitting the rocks. My face was wet with tears I couldn't stop.
Nobody spoke. Nobody moved.
Drogon lay on the ground. His breathing was still hard. His wings were still folded wrong.
The others just stared at me. They had never seen me break like this before.
I had burned down her home. Everything she had was gone because of me.
Her beautiful flowers. Her fruit trees. The wooden hut where she lived. All of it was black now. All of it was dead.
I looked at my hands. These hands that were supposed to help people. Yet these hands kept on destroying everything.
My shoulders shook. More tears fell onto the stone beneath me.
The silence went on and on. Only my broken sobs was the only sound made.
Then Haggar's voice cut through my sobs.
"You've done enough damage, boy." Her voice was cold like pure ice. "Time to see the real war."
I looked up at her. Her face showed no anger. No sadness. Just cold empty eyes.
She raised her hand high in the air.
I didn't have time to ask what she meant.
The world twisted around us. Everything spun. My stomach felt sick.
The rocky ground under my knees was gone.
\~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We landed hard on cold stone.
I looked up from where I had fallen. We were in a huge round room. The walls went up so high I could barely see the ceiling. Everything was made of white marble and gold.
Silver-haired people sat in chairs all around us. They all had blue eyes that looked like ice that reminded me of a certain race.
Tall windows with colored glass lined the walls. The light coming through them made everything look red and purple.
In the middle of the room stood a woman with long silver hair.
Ava.
She looked small and alone. Her face showed nothing. Her eyes were dull like she wasn't really there.
The people in the chairs were shouting at her. Their voices were loud and mean.
"She must step down!"
"She is making us lose!"
"You are no queen!"
"She brings nothing but shame to our people!"
"We deserve BETTER !"
Their voices echoed off the marble walls. It sounded like a ganged up animal preying on a poor sheep.
Ava just stood there. She didn't fight back. She didn't say anything.
Then they saw us.
The room went dead quiet.
All those blue eyes turned to stare at us. They looked at Drogon in his dragon form. Blood was still on his black scales. His red-golden eyes glowed in the dim light.
They looked at Haggar with her dark tunic gown and cold face.
They looked at me with my torn clothes and bloody hands and tear-stained cheeks.
I could smell their fear. Some of them started to stand up. Others moved back in their chairs.
My eyes followed Drogon's own, there sat, red hair like fire. Sitting in one of the chairs next to Ava.
Two small children sat beside her. A boy and a girl with the same red hair mixed with flecks of gold strands.
Her hands were tight fists. Her face was angry at all the mean words being said.
Then her eyes found Drogon.
Her face went white. Her mouth opened but no sound came out.
She stood up slow like she was in a dream.
"Drogon?" Her voice shook.
The dragon didn't move. But his eyes looked right at her.
I saw something change in those eyes. Gwen started walking toward us. Her steps were small at first. Then she moved faster.
The children called after her but she didn't stop.
An old man in a white robe jumped up from his chair.
His face was red with anger. His blue eyes burned with hate.
"Take formation!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. "The beast and his cohorts are here! Kill them all!"
Soldiers in silver armor came running from the corners of the room. They lifted their swords and spears. The metal made sharp sounds as they moved.
More soldiers poured in from doors I hadn't seen before.
Gwen was still running toward us.
"No!" she shouted. "Don't do that! Stop!"
But the soldiers didn't listen to her.
One of them stepped right in her path. He was big and mean looking.
He pushed her hard with both hands.
She flew backward through the air. Her body hit the marble wall with a loud crack.
Her head bounced off the stone. Blood ran down her face. She fell to the floor and didn't move.
The two children screamed. That's when Drogon lost control. His roar shook the whole room. The sound was so loud it hurt my ears.
The colored glass windows above us broke into a million pieces. Glass fell like rain.
People covered their heads and screamed. Drogon jumped forward faster than I had ever seen him move.
His big teeth found the old man's neck. There was a wet tearing sound. He ripped the man's head clean off his body.
Blood went everywhere. It splashed on the white marble floor. It splashed on the golden walls. It splashed on the fancy white robes.
The head rolled across the floor and stopped at someone's feet.
People screamed louder than I thought possible. They ran in all directions like scared animals.
Some tried to climb over their chairs. Others pushed and shoved to get to the doors.
But Drogon wasn't done.
He put his huge body over Gwen, his wings spread wide to cover her. He kept his eyes on all the scared people. He growled low and deep.
Nobody could get close to her now.
The soldiers didn't know what to do. Their weapons looked small next to the dragon.
Through all the noise and screaming, Ava just stood there.
She looked like she was watching someone else's bad dream. Like none of this was real.
But then she saw the blood on the floor. She saw the headless body.
Her back went straight. Her dull eyes started to change.
Her voice was quiet but it was loud enough
"Drogon. Behave."
The dragon turned his big head to look at her. He showed his sharp teeth. He growled at her.
But he didn't move away from the woman on the floor.
Everyone stared at Ava. They couldn't believe she could tell the dragon what to do.
Ava walked forward. Her steps were sure and strong now. She turned to face all the people in their fancy chairs. The people who had been saying mean things about her.
They were too scared to move now. Too scared to run. Her voice was strong.
"If any of you dare to lay a finger on them again..."
She paused. The glow in her eyes got brighter. The air around her started to freeze.
"I will personally erase you all myself."
