Chapter 235: Now you can join her.

~Third Person POV~

Raphael looked down at Landon with cold eyes. Blood dripped from his own wounds, but his anger burned stronger than his pain.

"I heard your luna once removed the heart of my mate," Raphael said slowly. "I will do the same to you, since I don't touch women."

Landon's eyes widened in horror as he realized what was about to happen.

Raphael twisted his hand and drove it deep into Landon's chest. He found the heart and brutally pulled it out, smiling in a way that would have scared even the gods.

"Say hello to your father Darius," Raphael said, dropping the heart on the ground.

Landon fell down, dead.

Raphael gently picked up Caleb's body and flew off into the sky, carrying his fallen friend away from the battlefield.

From above, Seraphine's voice boomed across the war zone.

"GODS! HOLD YOUR GROUND! YOU MUST NOT BACK DOWN! THE ORDER IS TO KILL THE SILVER WITCH, THE SACRED BEAST, THE FALLEN DRAGON AND HIS CHILDREN, AND VANQUISH THE MESODOMICA PRINCESS! THESE PEOPLE MUST NOT LIVE! SO STAND YOUR GROUND! USE ALL THE SHIFTERS! DO NOT STOP UNTIL YOU ACHIEVE THAT!"

The battle raged on with more fury than before.

That's when Alasia appeared where Ava was lying unconscious on the ground.

She looked down at her twin sister with cold blue eyes and started laughing.

"Look at the mighty princess now," Alasia said mockingly. "So weak and pathetic."

Siwan ran forward, wanting to come between them.

"Stop!" Siwan cried. "Please don't fight! You are sisters!"

Alasia's face twisted with rage. "Sisters? And you gave me away to die! Do you know what I have gone through all these years? How dare you call her my sister?"

Her voice grew crueler with each word.

"Oh, if only you knew how much I enjoyed it when I turned the mind of the sacred beast against her and watched her wither away as Norelle was truly sweet."

"If only you knew how I came to the second realm and made Raphael, the sacred beast, fall in love with me until he couldn't live without me."

"If only you knew how much I enjoyed watching him destroy Mesodomica. I feel nothing, absolutely nothing for this family or kingdom."

Alasia began laughing hysterically as she thought about her plans.

"All I want is to destroy it all to the ground and then take all of her powers for myself. In fact, I'm excited thinking about having those powers and maybe having the sacred beast for my own."

"You stupid child!" Siwan cried as she ran forward and slapped Alasia hard across the face.

Around them, the battle continued. People were dying, and Mesodomica was losing. Siwan could see all this happening and blamed herself more and more.

Alasia was stunned by the slap she had received from Siwan. But Siwan didn't care. She kept hitting Alasia, crying and shouting.

"Can't you see she's using you? She's using you! She lied to me and took you away from me! And being such a foolish woman, I believed her!"

Siwan's voice broke with sobs.

"I believed her and gave my beautiful daughter away. She told me you would die from a curse. She said the curse was because of what our ancestors did, and the law of natural balance had chosen you to suffer."

"I didn't want you to suffer like she painted in my mind. She said the only way to keep you alive was if I gave you away to her. She would cleanse you and give you a painless death."

"I know it doesn't make sense, but I just didn't want you to suffer. I didn't want my babies to suffer. It took your father and me so long to have you girls."

Siwan's tears fell like rain.

"The thought of giving you away or keeping you to suffer was overwhelming. The citizens were upset that I gave birth to a cursed child that would bring chaos to Mesodomica. But I didn't care about that. The king and I didn't care about their protests."

"What we cared about was that the more we kept you, the more you suffered. Your eyes would turn black and blood would come out of them, your nose, and mouth. You would cry all through the night."

"I stubbornly kept you for a month, using all my healing abilities, but nothing worked. People started dying mysteriously, and our people hardly ever die, but I still kept you."

Siwan's voice grew quieter.

"I woke up one morning and you were gone. Taken from us by my mother. She had given you away to the moon goddess, calling me selfish for keeping you alive to suffer. But I believed I could have saved you."

"And that was how you were taken from me. I cried for months. I prayed to the moon goddess, called on her, and she told me she had given you peace. After you left, the kingdom returned to normal."

"I never gave you away, Alasia. I never did," Siwan wailed.

Alasia looked stunned. All her life, the goddess had told her that her parents and people never wanted her because of her black hair. Because she was different, they called her cursed and loved Ava instead, then threw her away.

The goddess said it was only by her mercy that she found Alasia and took care of her.

Somewhere deep inside, Alasia knew Siwan was speaking the truth. But she felt she had done too much evil and couldn't turn back now.

With that thought in mind, she stabbed Siwan in the stomach.

"Ahh..." Siwan gasped, looking at her daughter with love even as she died.

"Does that make you feel less angry toward me, my child?"

For the first time in years, Alasia felt pain in her heart. Real pain even though, she refused to admit it even as tears fell from her eyes.

"Mother..." Ava screamed from where she lay.

"Stop screaming, sister," Alasia said coldly returning to her cold self. "You will join her soon."

Lorraine stumbled out from inside the castle. When she saw her daughter on the floor in a pool of blood, she ran to her and began crying.

"Blame me!" Lorraine sobbed. "I gave you away, not my daughter! My daughter is innocent! Blame me!"

"Oh, I do," Alasia said. "However, the moon goddess has asked me not to touch you. She said any other person might die today, but not you."

Lorraine tried attacking Alasia, but Alasia easily dodged her weak attacks.

"I have changed my mind," Alasia said with a cruel smile. "You should just die."

In all this chaos, Ava just sat there looking dazed. Her powers were eating her up from the inside as she tried forcing herself to fight.

Alasia stabbed Lorraine through the heart and then smiled.

"Now you can join your daughter."
