Authors pov
Torrin kept slashing any vampire that came in his way . Alaric on the other hand didn't wait for the vampires to come near him before he killed them .most of the vampires retreated in fear. They could see nothing but anger in his eyes. Torrin kicked down every door opened. The thought of Kayla being locked in any of the rooms made him very angry .
Alaric kept making his way forward , he was following his instinct.
Kayla's pov
This was almost the tenth room we were checking. The guards seemed to the less in all rooms and that made me worried. I knew something was going on. But I couldn't place my fingers on what it might be . I watched as Kevin kept moving forward. I wanted to scream at him to wait for me but my strength couldn't help with that. My scream came out in a whisper. I held my head as I struggled to keep my eyes opened . My legs were betraying me at the moment but I stood my ground trying to walk forward. As if the heavens were against me , a vampire came from nowhere aiming his dagger at me . I was too weak to do anything . Kevin was too far to hear my faint voice . I looked at the vampire as he raised his dagger at me but he stopped half way as he groaned in pains. He fell slowly revealing a figure behind him . I could tell I was already hallucinating. At least that was the only reasonable explanation I can give for seeing Torrin right in front of me . My vision became blurry as I succumbed to the ground . I sighed as I could feel myself on a broad chest . I knew it was Torrin's .
Torrin's pov
Thankfully I had arrived just in time to see Kevin fighting with a vampire. He had informed me that Kayla would be behind . I acted fast enough to stab the vampire attacking her. She felt so weak , as I carried her in my arms .
Alaric pov .
I kept heading forward , what was on my mind was Chelsea's safety . I planned on killing the vampire king with my own hands . Torrin had sent a message that he had found Kayla and Kevin . Some of my men followed me as I made my way deeper into the vampires terrain. I paused when I heard an echo . Even with the sound of the thunder I could detect the direction it came from . I moved to the east where the sound came from
" Look who we have here , the lover boy hiself "
I felt anger ball up in me as I heard the vampire king's voice. He walked forward with his army , like their numbers had any effect on me .
I scoffed as I swung my dagger in the air aiming at the vampire king . Fortunately for him his right hand man was quick enough to take the stab for him . The vampire king looked so shocked. I could tell he wasn't expecting me to make an attempt on his life so quick .
" I didn't come hear to exchange pleasantries with you duck head "
I spat as I spoke . The stupid right hand man was already on the floor dead . The other vampires brought out their sword at alert . They probably were a little shaken by the death of the right hand man . The vampire king growled as he asked them to attack. I swiftly moved in their midst. Taking each and everyone one of them down in a split seconds . That was the outcome of igniting my anger. Even I couldn't control my speed as I attacked them. My men seemed to have little or no vampire to fight as I did most of the job .
Vampire king pov .
I was completely surprised. It was obvious Alaric was very strong. For some strange reasons he was extremely fast. I watched as most of my men went down . I had been so sure that Alaric wouldn't be able to take me down in my own territory. He looked so horrible as he slashed my men. I moved swiftly to his front , I bet he didn't see that coming because he was a bit taken aback. I smiled as I saw him hold his chest. He stared at me angrily. It was time for me to fight .
" Com'on lover boy , did you think I would stand back and watch you kill my men "
I smirked as he stood up . Aiming his dagger at me . I was trying to calculate when he would get to me but he was too fast, before I could draw my dagger I felt a sharp pain on my laps . Alaric had stabbed me with his silver dagger. I growled in anger . Now I was really angry. I dug my fangs into Alaric's wrist as I pulled his dagger off my laps . I turned to the few of my men still standing.
" Retreat"
I yelled to them. It looked like they were waiting to hear that word as they didn't take time to retreat. I pushed Alaric away as I ran off Swiftly.
Chelsea pov .
It was the stench of blood that kept me awake during this whole time. I was feeling so cold and I shivered due to cold coupled with fear. The door flung opened and the vampire king walked in holding his tigh. I saw the mark from Alaric dagger on his thigh
The vampire moved closer to me and raised my face up to look at him .
" See what your lover did to me , I would so make him pay dearly for doing this to me "
I looked at him not blinking my eyes. It was not as if I wasn't afraid but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of seeing my fear .
" Stephen "
He yelled , calling a guard in . I wondered what he planned on doing now.
" Take her to my Chambers " he ordered .
This time around I couldn't hide the fear in my voice .
" Let go of me "
I screamed as I struggled to free myself from the guard. The vampire king laughed as he watched me struggle.
" I am going to make you scream tonight"
I stared at him as he spoke. I felt really weak as I thought of myself in his Chambers.
