Chapter Seventeen
Cyrus
“Dad, just don’t make do this okay. You know how mom feels about her”
“Exactly” my father says
“About who? Would someone tell me what is going on?” my mother keeps asking, a bit confused
“Your son has had a dip in Bella’s flower garden” wow dad, I didn’t think you had it in you
“Her flower garden? What do you mean?”
“He has taken Bella’s virginity along with her virtue and purity, as we had promised the Bratva in the contract” my father answers throwing daggers at me with his eyes
“Oh my God!” my mother exclaims.
She puts her hand on her chest and it feels like she is losing her strength as she looks for somewhere to sit. I ran to her to lend her a hand but she stops me with a shake of the head as dad reaches her and places her on the sofa.
“See what you have done? Look what you did to your mother” my mother says pointing at my mom who seems to be collecting herself
“I asked you not to tell her, this is your fault”
“I can’t lie to my wife, she would have found out the truth either way and she would be mad because we lied to her”
“Because that would have been your first lie” I scoff
“You remember who you’re talking to” back to threats again
“Well I need to talk to my father right now. The head of this family and not the famiglia”
“They are one and the same; I do what benefits us all. What were you hoping for a hug and some ice cream”
“I was hoping…..”
“Alright stop. Both of you. What happened I need to know” my mom says to us
“Tell her” dad orders me
“Bella was upset and crying after the party when she ran away, I ran into her in the upstairs bathroom and she was a wreck. She said she was suffocated at the house and wanted to feel free for a night so I sneaked her out.”
“And?”
“Then I took her to my place and we had drinks and then she wanted to lie down, I took her to my room and it just happened. There, happy now”
“Don’t you dare talk to your mother like that”
“Where was Cullen?”
“What?” both my father asks in surprise
“I know they left the party together. Why would Cullen leave her alone, if she was such a wreck?”
“I don’t know mom. I can’t answer that one, I am afraid” I tell her. She is always thinking of her precious son, even when it’s about me
“When he hears of this he will be so heartbroken. My poor son! You knew how he felt about her and you knew how he felt about the two of you. This will destroy him”
“Well he had plenty of chances. Maybe he should have popped that cherry sooner” I shrug
I never knew my mom was so fast. The slap came at lightning speed and lit my face on fire. Ow!
“Look what you made me do, what is with you today? Are you okay?” my mom asks
She tries to touch my face but I move away from her, avoiding her touch. She looks hurt but she striked me first, I wonder if she would have the same reaction, if I were Cullen.
“I haven’t changed my mind; I want to make this right. Let me have Bella’s hand in marriage” I say to my father. Its time I finished what I came to do here today.
“Son, I know you mean well but you know that can’t happen”
“Why?”
“We have an agreement with the Irish, for you to marry their youngest daughter. You still remember that?”
“I do, but she is like sixteen or fifteen now? I am sure you can talk to them they will understand”
“Not so easy. And then we have the Bratva, who are a pain in my side. Alex is blowing up my phone about the wedding being in a week, we have been pushing back but he wants to meet his future bride and sweep her off her feet. I think he is obsessed with her”
“And your young brother, you have to consider his feelings. I was fine with her going so far away but if you marry her…..” but then dad interrupts her
“Nobody cares about Cullen’s feeling honey. We have to think of the huge impacts this will have, real impacts as in when Bella’s father finds out and her daughters good name is tarnished and taken to the mad”
“Did you just say you don’t care about your sons feelings?”
“You baby that boy too much. Let him grow up maybe this will be the thing that strengthens him at last”
“Cedric Leonardo Cinnati if you talk to me like that again…..” my mom shouts
My mother and father then start shouting at each other and throwing threats over Cullen and his feelings. I take a sit and brace the headache that has come at a full force and is killing me. Just then Cullen bursts into the office looking surprised to find us all her especially me. He looks at me suspiciously as he goes towards my mom. He probably thinks I came to rat him out for sneaking out the princess but I did the opposite so he is welcome.
Part of why I did this was because I didn’t want to lose his respect and I loved him enough to still want to be his big bro. but I am an asshole and he doesn’t know what he means to me. It’s a double edged sword.
“What’s going on? I could hear shouting from downstairs” he asks as mom takes him in her arms
“Your brother asked for Bella’s hand. He wants to marry her” my father says looking right at Cullen’s eyes. I know my father only wants Cullen’s reaction when he says this
“What?” he asks surprised and confused. So am I buddy
“Nothing is decided yet. We are just discussing how to tackle this problem” my mother jumps in, always trying to protect her precious son
“What problem?” Cullen asks still in disbelief. He is having a harder time getting on with the program.
“Yes honey, what problem do we have here? Are you going to make a fool of him and save his fragile heart?” my father says to my mother. He has never hidden how he hates the way mom treats Cullen.
“Don’t patronize me cedric. Not right now” she claps back at him with a threatening look
“I don’t understand. Cyrus what are you doing?” he says turning to me on the last minute. I wish we could communicate through our thoughts too but our parents are here and my plan cannot fail because lover boy wants to tell the truth.
“I banged your little miss perfect and took her sweet cherry and now I have to make it right by marrying her. At this point no one is going to take her since she is already used up”
“Cyrus language. Jesus! What is wrong with you?” my mother chastises me
“That is not true” Cullen shouts
“What part?” I ask him
“That no one else will want her, just because you slept with her” he answers back angry. Everyone in this room is angry for their own reasons
“I don’t think you seem to understand how marriage contracts work. No one will want her after they hear of how easy and shameful she has been. Everyone loved her because she was perfect, beautiful and pure. When they realize what happened yesterday night she will be just like any other girl and they will turn against her so fast” I snap my fingers at him to emphasize my point. He starts heading my way like he wants to fight me again
“Not to me” he answers back
“She doesn’t love you Cullen, get over it already. Why do you think she was so quick to open up her legs for me if she loved you so much?”
“You took advantage of her! She was drunk and confused and you being the selfish person you are took advantage of that and destroyed her future”
“At least I am willing to make it right. She better kiss my feet after this” he attacks me then and I block him, while my dad interferes setting us apart
“I fucking hate you, you always mess up everything”
“Well get in line, little bro”
After this comes out. I will be public enemy number one and we will probably be at war then
