Chapter Ninety four
“Why do you look so surprised, you must have had a feeling with Bella so sick all the time, tired and the sleeping. I talked to Margaret in the morning and she told me how Bella has been losing appetite and weight, we both believe she is pregnant and the two of you are trying to hide it.”
“You were gossiping about me with my house help?”
“No it’s not what you think. I am not pregnant, I can’t, not now.” I say to them, more to stop them from fighting.
“Are you on birth control?”
“Yes, I mean no. I was supposed to but I never made my appointment last month.” I say glaring at Cyrus since he was the one who locked me in here.
“So you’re pregnant?”
“No. I mean I don’t know, I don’t think so.”
“I am going to be a grandmother, I am so happy this is the greatest news. Your father will be so happy.” My mother in law gushes
“Please don’t go around telling everybody before we are sure. The doctor will be here in the morning so we can be sure. I can’t believe this…”
“What are you complaining about? This is good news.”
“She is eighteen mom, don’t you get it. She is still so young to be having a baby; I didn’t plan on having a baby. Not now, maybe never.”
“How dare you say that? What is wrong with you children?”
“Its fine mom, he is just overwhelmed with the news. He just needs to process everything.” I tell her while I hold his hand and her phone rings, the screen shows it’s her husband.
“It’s your father. I better take this.” She says and walks out to the door. We are quite making no contact until she comes back.
“Your father is downstairs, that old man doesn’t know when to give up. I am going to go but I will be back tomorrow morning, okay my love.”
“Yes mom.”
“No. we will call you with the results. I don’t want dad to scream at me again because he couldn’t have breakfast tomorrow morning.”
“We’ll see.” my mother in law says as she kisses me goodbye and starts leaving.
“I will walk you out and see father.” Cyrus says and walks away with his mother leaving me in the bedroom.
The house is quite again and I decide to back to my room and have a sleep for the night. Cyrus is probably not coming back for the night and if he is I don’t want him to find me here.
I go back to my bedroom and head straight for the sheets, having been tired with all the fun I had all day. Minutes later when Cyrus walks into my bedroom I am immediately filled with dread, he already fucked me yesterday and he has never came for me twice before. Is he here to punish me because I went out with his mother? I don’t say anything or acknowledge him but pretend to be sleeping.
“Is it true, are you pregnant?” He suddenly asks as he takes a sit at the edge of the bed.
“I don’t know but I don’t think so”
“Mother raised all these speculations after she had a talk with Margret, so even though we are not sure it’s not impossible it might be our reality.”
“We have been lying to people about why I am sick and lie around all the time, we both know it’s because of the toll of what you do to me that has me this way. it has nothing to do with the fact that I am sick or pregnant.” I lash out, unable to help myself.
“If it is true, would you want to keep it, would you be happy?”
“Are you asking me to get rid of your child before you have even learned of its existence?”
“Of course not, if you’re pregnant it means everyone knows and we will have to see it through. I was just wondering where your mind is at, at the moment. Do you need me to get you anything?” He asks and I nearly gape at him, he is asking me what I want?
“I want you to tell me how it makes you feel.”
“As I said before, I never planned on having a child. They are a pain in the ass and considering the position I am in right now and the deals I made, I really hope you’re not carrying my child.” He sighs as he sighs and walks out the door. I don’t know what I expected from him but I believe that he was telling me the truth and he is not wrong, I don’t want to be pregnant either. Not like this.
The family doctor comes in early the next day for the tests and get me out of my misery. I am not pregnant just as I thought I wasn’t so everything is just great. When he broke the news to me and Cyrus, his face was filled with so much relief like a weight was lifted off his shoulders that it hurt me a little, I don’t know why. He then asked the doctor about putting me on birth control and left us to discuss that as he left for work lighter than he was in the morning.
My mother in law came later and Cyrus had already gave her the news so she wasn’t as happy as she was when she left last night and she apologized for getting my hopes up over nothing. She wanted to take me out to lunch but I had already pissed off Cyrus yesterday I didn’t want to push my luck, she wasn’t having it though and I ended up going to lunch anyway. The guards didn’t make a sound as we left, I don’t know if it means I am free t leave and go as I want or it’s because Mrs. Cedric is with me.
After we have had our lunch she suggests we go for a little make over since she has been thinking of trying a new look and I oblige her, it’s much better than being cooped up at the house. She coaxes me into getting one too and by the time we get out of there I feel and look brand new, she suggests we get a few drinks before going back home and I agree although I am surprised that she gets a private booth for just drinks.
