Damaged
It’s only a 5 minute walk to the Medical Centre, but it felt forever. I was trying not to hurt Eve but I know she needs to see a doctor soon! When I arrived at the ER, I yelled to the nurses over there: “STOP what you’re doing and help me here! NOW!!”.
Within ten seconds, three nurses and 2 doctors were surrounding me. One of the nurses wanted to take Eve out my arms, but I growled at her. I can manage to carry her to a bed, myself. I put Eve down on a bed and look worried at her fragile frame. The doctors told me to get out of the way, while they examine her. I took a step backwards, and decided to wait in the waiting room.
While I sat on a chair, I see Bonnie and my mom walk into the ER.
“WHERE IS SHE?” asks Bonnie loudly at the receptionist.
I walked upon her and took her in my arms, “The doctors are taking care of her, right now. It’s gonna be OK Bonnie. Please, come sit with me. Do you want something to drink?”
I feel her snobbing in my shoulder and she nods: “Oh my dear Adam, Avery told me you found her. What happened?” I look over my shoulder to my mom, ands she puts her finger in front of her lips, trying to say that I need my mouth shut.
I answer Bonnie: “Come, let us wait ‘till the doctors are back. We will talk later, OK?” Surprisingly she said: “OK”. and I’m relieved. It’s better to talk in another environment.
“Did you see Esther, Adam?” asks mom. “No,” I answer, “I’m not sure if she has shift today.” I know mom likes nurse Esther, a lot. They’re best friends and if it comes to family, she always asks for her. I see her eyes darken a bit, knowing she’s mindlinking. Probably Esther.
I’m restless, what’s happening? Last week, I felt my senses sharpen. And I don’t know why, but I have a bad feeling about today. I don’t want to make Bonnie more worried than she already is.
After three hours, the doctors walked into the waiting room. Bonnie immediatly stands up: “Is she OK? Please, tell me she’s fine..” I see the worried looks on their faces and hear one of them answering:
“I’m so sorry, Ma’am. I’m not sure if she is gonna make it. For now, she’s stable. But we needed to put her in a medically induced coma.” He shakes his head. “She got many kicks on her head, her brains are damaged. We have no clue how big the damage is. So, we can only wait.”
Bonnie turns to me, crying, but that’s not what I’m terrified of. Her eyes, she's livid!
“Listen carefully, little man. You’re gonna tell me exactly what happened. RIGHT NOW, otherwise you’re gonna see my Alpha wolf kicking your ass.”
My eyes widened.. “Alpha? What do you mean, Bonnie?” I ask her.
“You’re not the only one with secrets, WhiteMoon family.. You heard me. I’m a born Alpha, and pretty damn good in fighting too. So. Tell me. What happened to my little girl?”
I can feel she’s serious, I feel her aura. I never thought she had one! I hear my mom saying to us:
“Come, both of you, to my office. There’s nothing we can do, right now. We need to talk.”
