Moon Goddess' son

This is not good. Too much to handle. “What do you mean, she’s not twelve? But she’s so tiny! There’s no way… I … No!” I say out loud. Dr. Rose is staring at me with an understanding look. “Adam, if you want answers, you need to talk with Mrs. Evans.”

Without saying a word, I leave the lab. I storm outside and start running. I can’t, I can’t talk to Bonnie or Joshua. How am I gonna tell Josh, Eve’s his half-sister? That she’s not the little sister he thought she was. How were Bonnie and James able to hide this from us? What if Joshua knew.. My heart skips a beat, when I realize he might know as well.

After twenty minutes, I stop running and look around me. I’m in the woods. High trees are surrounding me, I smell the earth beneath my feet. I fall to my knees and bury my face in my hands. “How am I suppose to fix this? “ I ask myself. I sat there for a few minutes and feel myself calming down. The woods have this effect on me. I open my eyes and lay down on my back. I’m looking to the sky above me. Clouds are forming a gorgeous sight. Shall I….?

*Ace? I want to talk with you.*

*Hi Adam, what’s up?*

*I’ve a lot of questions. I dunno what to do. I’m a druid, right? You’re my wolf, my inner beast. So, you can hear and feel everything I do..*

*Yes, I can.*

*So, I don’t have to explain to you what happened today, right?*

*Wow, you’re not the chatty one..*

*Nope. Normally you talk enough for the two of us. So, I’m good.*

*Great. Anyhow. What should I do now? I’m not ready for answers.. I care for Eve, a lot. Joshua and Eve were the siblings, I never had.*

*I’ve never met Eve, but I can feel you care about her. The feelings are warm and soft. But she isn’t the ‘little one’ you thought she was, Adam. She’s about our age.*

*Crap, you’re right. But I don’t understand.. Bonnie and James came to our pack when I was young. Joshua has been my best friend since I saw him from preschool. I was only around 4 years old. I can’t remember Eve, strangely enough.*

*You know what you have to do: ask Bonnie.*

*Ugh. You little cry baby. You’re a big boy. You want to be the Alpha, some day. So start acting like one.*

*Oh my gosh, Ace! You should support me… Not attack me.*

*I’m the honest one, you’re innerself. I only reflect you. I’m Adam, with no filter. Come on. Go back to the packhouse and confront Bonnie and Joshua. They need to open up.*

*Grmbll. I know you’re right. But I’m not feeling it right now. Hey - do you wanna run? I think we can use some bonding. It was strange, being in your body yesterday. I can use some practice for the moments you’re not leading in wolf form and I need to act by myself..*

*I’d love too! But I’m not holding back. Take your clothes off.*

*Wow! Easy, brother. We’re going for a run, not measure our dicks..*

*Oh Moon Goddess, húmans… If you want to ruin your clothes, fine. But you know, shifting is ripping everything apart, right?*

*Oh crap, hehehe. Sorry bud. Give me a sec.*

I jump on my feets and strip my clothes of my body. I fold them into a package, so I can carry them with me, in my mouth, when I run back to the village.

*I’m ready, Ace.*

I close my eyes and feel how Ace is pushing me back and take the lead. A wave of energy goes through my body - it’s tingling. Adrenaline is pumping through my veins and I feel my senses sharpen. Unlike last night, I start feeling pain.

*Let it go! Let me take over, Adam. It’s fine. Don’t fight it. It’s pain free when I’m in the lead in the shifting process. Remember last night? Smell the woods, they’re giving you you’re power. Focus on the earth.*

I nod. Not be able to talk. I’m not sure why, but I follow Ace’s advice. With a deep breath, I focus myself on the ground beneath me. I inhale the scent and feel the woods’ energy. Ace is shifting, and I’m not in pain anymore. My face is changing, and I can see a big nose is forming under my eyes. When the shift is ready, I shake my new body. The fur feels amazing, soft but fully-covering.

*Wow, Ace. You’re body feels amazing!*

*It’s nice being on four legs again..*

*I can imagine.*

I start taking a few steps, it feels weird but it’s easier then I thought! This is amazing! I stretch my neck and a big howl left my mouth. Damn, that’s loud!

*Yes, the vocal cords of mine are nicely developed, aren’t they?* Ace talks to me.

*They sure do! But hey, I feel huge! I can see my paws are black. Are you completely black, Ace?*

*I’m not sure to be honest, I’ve never seen myself either.*

I walk towards the lake and take a few steps in the water. I bend my head and look into the reflection. I was not expecting to see this. I link Ace:

*Ace! Look!*

*… Wow, is this me?*

I see an incredibly big black wolf, but with a slim build. This wolf is impressive! The head is bigger than any wolf I’ve seen in my whole life, with insanely large ears. I still have my green eyes, but they’re more glowing in this wolf form. But it’s the white spot on Ace’s forehead that caught my attention. The spot has the shape of a half-moon: Moon Goddess’ sign! This sign means that the Moon Goddess herself shaped every inch of my body and soul herself. Only ‘children’ of the Moon will receive her sign. I'm not only from the Chosen Family, I am also her 'Chosen Son'!
