One down, still one left

I felt enraged when I felt the aura of my mate bursting. The closer I came, the more it filled my veins. It was overwhelming, I never felt that before. Eve never did this before, not like this. I was only 10 or 20 seconds away when I smelt him: a mix of creatures. Vampire, human, werewolf; there’s only one that fits that combination. TED.

I couldn’t control my anger, but before I could do anything stupid I hear his voice:

*It’s OK, Adam. Let go of me. Follow your feelings. SHIFT!*

My wolf just gave me permission to admit my feelings, to let go.

I am still running. I feel the athletic and strong legs of my wolf. Ace is amazing, but he told me to let go. I try to focus on my feelings again, it’s not hard. They’re powerful. The combination of my mate in distress, my anger and the enrage feelings are immediately there.

*Do it.*

It confuses me a bit, I never heard this voice before. But I shake it off. The aura of Ace’s and mine changes, I feel how it centers and I’m using it to shift. I’m not even sure in what or why, but I have the urge to change. I look down to my paws and I see how they’re changing, they’re growing bigger. Much bigger. My steps are slowing down and I’m starting to feel hurt. Damn, this is no joke. I let out a growl. It doesn’t sound the same.

My head is not thinking anymore, somebody is taking over. My view changes too, there where Ace can see every detail, sharp and wide, my eyes now feel small and I can’t see as well as I did before. But, soon I’ll find out that when I focus on my target, I see better and more detailed than with the eyes of Ace’s.

My face feels different too. My nose is bigger, and the smells of my surroundings are even stronger than before. I smell a lot of blood, and it confuses me. But I know it’s not hers. I know I’m close. I run past the last few houses of the village and I follow my nose. When I come around the corner, I know he must be in there. The vanilla-scent that hits my nose is unmistakable too.

A second growl leaves my body when I rip the outer wall of that house. A golden ball is shining in my face and I look at the back of a guy that’s trying to enter that ball. Ted.

He’s definitely going to regret today.

-Eve POV-

I don’t have time to think about Adam and his bear. I need to use this moment to attack Ted, he’s distracted right now. Within a split second, I shift and use all my powers to bite in his neck. The moment I taste blood, I fall on the ground. Ted is gone.

I look around, confused, and I can see he’s outside.

“You took me by surprise over there, sweetheart. But that’s not going to happen again. Time to use some of my powers.” Ted says, while he starts yelling again.

This is so bad, the ears of my wolf are even more sensitive than from my human side and I start whimpering. I look at Adam, but the sound doesn’t seem to bother him as much as it bothers me.

The bear is running towards the vampire and he slams him to the ground. The vampire King stops yelling for a moment, but I can see it already had effect. I look around me and see vampires coming out the woods. But they’re not alone, I see countless wolves already forming a barrier between the vampire King and us, Adam and I. Where did they come from?

*Hi future Luna, I’m Gary, the Alpha of the Black. Your boy Adam has convinced me to fight with him. Don’t worry, we are fighting the vampires. Let Adam take their King.*

A voice hits my head, and I look around to see who it is. I follow the aura’s of the wolves and then I know it must have been the large grey wolf that’s looking at me from the frontline. I nod at him and mindlink back: *Thanks Gary Black. You’re coming exactly on time.*

The moment my words hit his brain, I can see he’s surprised. *You truly are a Chosen One, future Luna. It’s my honour.*

And with those words he lets out an enormous growl and his warriors follow.

So now it’s us again. I see how my mom has shifted as well, together with the warriors who are now not bothered by the red magic of Ted. The warriors immediately stand in front of me while mom is jumping on Ted. One warrior looks down at me and says: *Eve, we need to go! Let them finish it.*

*NO! I’m not going to let mom and Adam alone, NO!*

*They’re not alone, look.*

I look around and I see he’s right. Douzens of our warriors are attending mom, Adam and the Black’s. I glare at the big, black bear and I feel proud. That creature is majestic, and he’s mine!

But before we could leave, I see how the vampire King is starting to rise above mom and Adam. Red magic shining in his hands. His eyes are blood red as well. He yells:

“YOU THINK YOU CAN FIGHT ME WITH THAT EASE? I’M MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU, DOGS!”

It seems like he’s controlling mom and Adam, but it takes him all his powers. The warriors are trying to get close to him, but They’re all floating in the air. Because they’re stunned by magic, their barrier isn’t working.

*Darling, we need your powers, you’re a Chosen One too! Together, we can beat him.*

That’s mom’s voice! Why can I still hear her?

*It’s your power, sweetheart. You can always contact us. Even when we’re stunned, we’re still alive, don’t we?* she answers my questions, before I even asked. She knows me too well, my lovely mom.

*It’s showtime, wolfie.*

*.... It’s Enora, girl…*

*So you dó have a name. Enora. Nice to meet you..*

With that said, I run towards the three in front of me. I let out a growl while I jump high in the sky.

*Shine bright, girl. Shine!*

I focus on my energy and let all my powers come out at the same time. It feels like I’m exploding. The moment I touch mom and Adam, an overwhelming wave of energy hits my body and my vision goes black.

---

I see her coming, and I close my eyes to focus. I store my energy and I know that I have to release it the moment she’s here. I look at the wolf at my left, and she’s doing the same. Her golden ball is starting to glow again, and it shines brighter and bigger with every step she takes. I’m so proud of her! The moment I feel her touch, I let go. The energy is overwhelming, but I feel how it consumes the magic and soon my feet touch the ground again.

Ted is still hanging in the air, in a golden ball. But he’s not alone! With disgust, I look at the scene and my heart skips a beat. Eve! She’s in there, with him! She’s not in her wolf form anymore. I lift my paws in the air, and I’m standing at two feet. A wave of golden energy is going from my body to hers, and the same with the wolf next to me. Who is that wolf, anyway? Then it hits me: the Chosen Ones! This must be Bonnie!

*You can do it, girl! I’m here with you!*

I try to mindlink her, but it seems like it’s not entering the barrier. There’s nothing that I can do, but watch. It feels like an eternity, but slowly, our powers are consuming Ted. He slowly disappears, like dust in the wind. I see how Eve opens her eyes and shouts. I feel daggers in my heart, she’s in pain. When I look back at Ted, I see there’s nothing left anymore. He’s gone. I quickly look around me and I see how every vampire, dead or alive, are disappearing too.

Two seconds later, the barrier slowly brings Eve back to the ground and fades. Eve’s unconsciousness. One of the warriors is running towards her with a cloth in his mouth and he covers her lady parts. I will forever be grateful to him, although this is a situation - SHE’S MINE! No other man can she her body, that’s reserved for my eyes only.

*Please, let me come back. She needs me.* I ask in my mind, not knowing if my bear can hear me.

But soon I feel how I’m shrinking and my paws are changing into hands. Thank Goddess.. I don’t care if I'm naked, I don’t care that hundreds of eyes are watching us. I hurry towards my mate and kneel next to her. I know what I’ve to do.

I close my eyes and hold one hand on her forehead, while the other is close to her heart. I look up to the sky and my eyes are turning a few tones brighter. Roots are coming out of the ground and covering my legs. I feel the energy of the woods entering my body. “Thank you” I whisper, to the spirits of the woods.

The green circle is starting to form around our bodies, leaves are erupting from the ground. Soon I feel how the energy is distributed over her body and she starts to move beneath my hands. I look back at her, and I see she’s slowly opening her eyes.

“D-did it w-work? I-i-is he gone?” She whispers.

I smile and kiss her lips. “You did well, my sweet girl. It’s over.”

Eyes are forming in her eyes and I look at the wolf next to her. “Bonnie, I know it’s you. Thanks, we couldn’t do this without you. Take care of your daughter. I’ll have to find my mom.”

With those words said, I look back at Eve and give her a last kiss. “I need to go, little one.” But Eve’s already standing up. I push her down. “Easy, girl. You’ve given a lot of your powers. I know I healed you a bit, but I couldn’t give it all. I still have to find my mom. I have a feeling she’s going to be in danger soon, too.”

“What do you mean?” She asks, still a bit shaky.

“I can’t tell you, but I need to hurry. Trust me, please. I’ll mindlink you later, I promise!”

She nods and I shapeshift again, back to Ace. I mindlink him:
*Ace, I said it was over, but it isn’t. Let everyone know we need to focus north. We have an enemy over there too. I’ve sent more than half of the Black’s north. Levi is fighting them, but is taking a lot of hits. Warn Gary and the Ember Pack.*

I know Ace is able to mindlink them fast, he’s in charge now and it costs him less energy. I need to save mine. I think back to the ‘dream’ Quinn gave me the other day. It’s not over, yet.
