Troubles
“James.” I turn around and look at him with a nice Luna-smile. I know it will irritate him. “It’s almost 21:30 O’clock, how can I help you? Is there something wrong?” I ask him. On purpose, I talk to him like I have no idea what’s going on.
“Oh come on, woman, you know I’m not here to have a nice chat.” He says to me.
“What do you want from me, James? What is this all about?”
James walks into the room, I see there is nobody with him. James has a weird smile on his face, he answers:
“What did you do to my wolf? I can’t feel him anymore. I know it was you.. I had a nice run in the woods and suddenly my wolf shifted back, and I was laying naked on the ground. And I’m unable to shift back.”
“I think you need to answer my question first, B E T A. The last time I checked, I’m still your Luna. I ask the questions, not you.”
James lets out a snuff through his nose.
“Well, not for long, my dear. Soon I’ll be your Alpha. Well, I guess not YOUR Alpha, ‘cause you will be dead by then.”
I feel my anger grow, how dares he? Does he know whom he’s talking to? I answers with an ice-cold voice:
“Hmmm. You sure? And how do you think to manage that? You know you’re only Beta, right? You can’t defeat me in a fight.”
I see his annoying smile change into an arrogant look.
“Oh, you were really thinking I was gonna do this by myself, didn’t you? How sweet. Well.., no. I brought a friend.”
A shadow in the corner stepped out in the light and became visible. I recognize his face: Alpha Mike’s son: Cliff. Mike is the Alpha of Blue Oasis. Cliff smiles at me while he takes a bow behind his back. With his other hand he takes an arrow out of the small backpack, he’s carrying. I automatically take a step backwards.
I ask: “Cliff, what are you gonna do with that arrow? Why are you helping James?”
Cliff tensions the bow with the weird looking arrow and looks at me. “Well dear Luna. Before I’m gonna shoot you in the chest I want you tell this funny fact. I think you’ve heard about the hunters, right? Well… I’m the reawakened hunter, and I'm gonna do what I was born to do: killing wolves. Nice to meet you!”
I’m shocked. I know Cliff is about Adam’s age, but I’ve never guessed the Blue Oasis are the descendants of the hunters! They're wolfs too, not only human! Before Cliff’s able to shoot me, I jump aside and simultaneously mindlink Adam and all the guards in my house:
*HELP! I’m in trouble, anyone - HELP!*
