Pumpkin
We all returned to the packhouse. Avery felt tired, so she decided to get some sleep. It’s very strange though, she looks like nothing happened! Adam told me everything about his druid-being. It’s awesome, and I’m glad he’s on my side. Nevertheless, I was very astonished by the fact there’s something big coming, apparently.
I sigh. I’m feeling restless, my feet start walking. It’s like an uncontrollable feeling, I need the urge to walk to the medical centre. What is this?
*I need to see Crissie, I want to smell her. To touch her. She’s mine!*
Suddenly I hear Jaggar’s voice in my head. I chuckle..
*Easy kiddo. She’s ours, she’ll always be. But you can’t stop by every second you want to! She has her own life, too.*
*I don’t give a shit. I want her, now!*
*Alright, alright. We’re going to the hospital. If she’s there, you’re lucky. Otherwise we head back to the packhouse, understood?*
*Hmmmpph. We’ll see.*
It’s always fun, these little conversations between Jaggar and me. But this is on a whole different level. I wasn’t expecting Jaggar to be this kind of impatient when it comes to our mate. But I do understand, I want to smell and kiss Crissie too. She’ll enlighten my day.
The moment I entered the building, I could smell she’s here. I walk upon the desk and ask the receptionist: “Hi, I’m looking for Crissie, I need to talk to her. Can you call her for me?” The lady behind the desk is staring at me, suspiciously. “And what is your name, sir?”
“I’m Joshua.” The lady turns around and types some numbers in the phone. I look around and see an empty chair.
I take my phone and scroll through Facebook. A funny video about a cat scaring from a cucumber popped up my wall, and I chuckle out loud. I like those silly video’s.
“Joshua, WHAT are you doing here?” I hear her voice. “Waaaah!” I fear of her voice, I was distracted from that kitty in my Facebook wall, and I almost dropped my phone. I stand up, a bit shy. “Hey Crissie. I need to talk to you, is there a spare room where we can talk in peace?”
She hesitates but then she says: “Follow me…” She brings us to an empty and small room and closes the door. “So.. what’s that important, you needed to …” Before she’s able to finish her line, I put my lips on hers. I pull her body against mine, and kiss her firmly. She tastes amazing, I can smell the strong scent of oranges coming off of her body. After a while, I let go of her tasty lips to catch my breath. I look into her eyes and say: “This, I needed this. It’s only been a few hours, but I wanted to see you.”
She’s staring at me, perplexed. “I-I… wow. You are a very good kisser, mister!” she then replies with a smile on her face. “But, we need to talk about this. I’m not looking for a boyfriend right now. I want to finish college, with good degrees. I don’t have time for this shit. I can’t focus with you around. Look at this..” She makes some huge signs with her arms, covering the frame of my body. “You’re a good looking man, Joshua. And apparently a good kisser too. That’s a dangerous combination..” She tilts her head and looks at me.
A victorious smile forms around my mouth. “I knew you would like me. I’m not only a good kisser, I can cook too. My mom’s the greatest chef you’ll ever known. I learned a lot from her. Sooo, if you ever want a free meal: I’m here for you..” I said confidently.
“No, seriously, Joshua! You can’t visit me every time you're feeling to! I have to work, or study. I have my own life!”
I link Jaggar: *Told ya, buddy!*
*O, shut up!*
I focus on Crissie, and I say: “Crissie, you’ve no idea how much you mean to me, already. There’s a bond forming between the two of us and I can’t help it. I need your smell, your body and your laugh to help me go through the day. I’ll not let you go! What if you give me your number, so I can text you before I feel the urge to visit you? Then it won’t be unexpected, and you can say ‘no’ if you need to. I’ll try to respect the ‘no’.” I wink at her.
“Oh for Christ’ sake. I’m stuck with you, forever, don’t I?” Crissie rolls her eyes.
I chuckle, “Yep.”
“Aight, give me your phone.” I give it to her, and she puts her number in it. “I like you, Joshua. But I’m not ready for this. If you ever come to my place without texting, you’re done. Understood?”
I nod, “Yes, my Queen.” and I bow for her.
“Oh, silly you. Act normal.” she reacts to my gesture, embarrassed. I chuckle. “You’re very cute, pumpkin. Come here, a last kiss before I let you go back to work.” I kiss her passionately, her tiny body pressed against mine.
“Why do you call me pumpkin, by the way?” She asks me.
“Because I admire your orange-colored hair. You’re my little pumpkin.” I react to her. I give her a last, quick kiss and leave the room.
“Don’t you forget texting me first, Mister!!” Crissie calls after me. I shake my head and smile. She’s not gonna make it easy on me. I know for sure.
