Where's Crissie?
-Crissie POV-
What have I done? Oh no! I stare at the hole in my bedroom door. I look down at my hands, flames are still dancing between my fingers. “Oh no no no nooo! I told him, I have troubles controlling the fire!” I shake my hands, trying to get rid of the flames.
“Crissie! What have you done?! Joshua, are you OK?” I hear mom’s voice in the hallway.
“Mom? I - uhh - I think I shot flames at my door. I’m so sorry, mom! I’ll pay for it, I’ll fix the door, I promise!”
But at that moment I realised mom talked about Joshua. “Joshua? What’s about him?” I ask mom, while I walk closer to the hallway. I open my bedroom door and I’ll never forget the sight. “No, Joshua… No!” I whisper. I want to kneel down, touch him, make sure he knows I’m here. But all I can do is shake, uncontrollably. Although I’m a nurse, it’s different when ‘the patient’ is someone you love.
“What are you staring at? DO SOMETHING!” mom yells in my ear, completely in shock and terrified.
But I can’t, this is all my fault. I killed the man I love! My vision troubles, tears are flowing. All I can see is a big red circle on the place where I should’ve seen his gorgeous brown eyes and blond, wavy hair. “I’m so sorry, I’m so so sorry.” Is all I can say.
I close my eyes and whisper: “Take me with you..” I feel the tingles and embrace the feeling. I’ll just let my surroundings take me with them.

“Please, brother, please. Hold on! We’re almost there!”
I run towards the stretcher. Debby told us what happened. She heard noise and ran upstairs, where she found a burning hole in Crissie’s bedroom door. Joshua was laying on the ground, unconsciousness, with bad burning marks on his face. We couldn’t see how bad it was in the first place, blood and fire was everywhere. Luckily, us werewolves, heal fast. But at this injury, the healing is surprisingly slow.
I get stopped by a nurse. “I’m so sorry, Eve. But you’ll have to wait here. You can’t go in. I’ll promise, I’ll take good care of him!”
I look at her face, it’s nurse Esther. The best friend of our Luna. I know she would do anything she can, I mean: he’s our Beta! They would give their lives for him. All the wolves will do anything within their powers to protect their Alpha, Luna, Beta’s and Gamma’s. I sigh and nod. “I know, Esther. Thanks!”
I’ll take a seat in the waiting room and look at my phone. It’s 1PM, I think I’m staying here all day. Dr. Rose told us it would take hours to repair his face. Thinking of my brother, I feel how my eyes tear up again.
“Eve! Oh my gosh, how are you?”
I hear his voice, and all I can do is follow the anaseedy, dawn scent of his. The moment I feel his arms around me, I cry. “It was so bad, Adam! His face is all burned!”
“Shhhh, I’m here, little one. We have great doctors, I’m sure they do anything they can. Shhh..” Adam says, comforting Eve.
After a few minutes, Eve calmed down. They both take a seat and Adam asks Eve: “What happened?”
So I explain, I explain everything Debby told me. Adam frowns his head. “But this is so not like Crissie! I know she can have a temper, but seriously: she’s always so steady and controlling. Why did she release her fire?”
It’s a good question, but I don’t know. I really liked Crissie. She felt like a sister to me, the sister I never had. And surprisingly, I felt connected. I can’t explain why, but she’s not ‘just a friend’. We had so much in common! But now, now I only feel anger. How could she?
Adam looks around, “Where exactly is she, right now?”
I shake my head. “Debby said she teleports away. We don’t know where she is right now. She couldn’t reach mom, so she mindlinked me. I went there as fast as I could! I’m still not able to mindlink mom, I’ve no idea where she is either..” I say to Adam.
“Interesting… the moment you linked me, I started running outside and I bumped into Steve. He was just starting his shift to make us lunch and prep dinner, and he said something about ‘everyone having a hurry today’. So I stopped for a moment and asked him if he was OK. He nodded and mentioned your mom, Bonnie. She was also running, towards the woods. He asked me to keep an eye on her, ‘cause she looked stressed. Maybe it’s connected?” Adam says.
“Maybe.” I say softly. But for now, I’ve no time for worrying about mom. I’m not leaving this place until they’re done with Joshua! I can tell Adam feels me, he gives me a side hug and says: “It’s OK, I’ll mindlink the warriors on patrol. They’ll look out for her.”
“Thanks, cowboy. I love you.”
“Did you just say you love me?” Adam asks.
Oh darn - I just did, did I? I look into his surprised face and I feel how my cheeks are getting warm.
“Oh, you’re blushing! You’re so adorable!” Adam says, while he has a big smile on his face. “I love you too, my gorgeous mate. You’re my everything.” and Adam takes Eve in his arms, hugging her tightly.
“Don’t make fun of me! Let’s say it’s the moment.” I say, while I hug him back. “But I do love you.” I whisper.
I feel how his lips are attacking mine, and I’m glad he’s here to comfort me. Well, not only comforting me, I mean: look at this. He’s kissing me if it was my last day on earth. After 20 long seconds or so, I escape his hug. “Stop, Adam. We’re in a hospital. We can’t do this here.” I look around, but nobody is watching us. I’ve picked a seat next to a big green plant, not wanting to sit in sight. And that has been a perfect choice for us, being close.
I close my eyes and lean towards Adam’s shoulder. We’re going to sit here for hours, maybe I can take a nap while waiting. We will find mom and Crissie later on...
