A talk with my Luna

It’s been three days now. Three days from the moment they runned those tests. And I still know nothing. I sigh, I don’t know what to do right now. I’ve had several seizures since then, and I’m tired of it. So, let’s go to the only person I can ask for help: my Luna.
Eve walks to her office and knocks on the door. No respons. Because of the lack of response, she decides to grab something to eat. It’s almost 10 am. Time for a snack.

“Hi Steve! Nice to see you here.. What do you have for me? Please, tell me you’ve made something… pleaaasee!” Eve begged. Steve smiles, he knows the werewolves have a big appetite, so he’s always cooking or baking something.

“Hi Beta! Well, now you’re asking. I’ve made zucchini cake with walnuts. It’s a new recipe, do you want some?” Steve says, while he looks at her sour face.

“Eeew, gross! You’ve put vegetables in a cake? What’s wrong with you?” Eve says. But her curiosity wins, ‘cause when she walked over to the kitchen table, she sees an amazing looking cake in front of her. “Hmmm.. it does smell nice, I’m not going to die if I take one bite, am I?”

“Hahahaha. You silly little girl. Try! I think you’re going to like it.” Steve laughs out loud.

Seriously, he was right. I’m not kidding, this cake is heavenly! “Oh my gosh, Steve! This is awesome! Please, can I have a slice for the way back? I need to find the Luna, but she isn’t in the office. Ohww.. Do you know where she is?”

“Hmmm, I’m not sure, but I saw her around 15 minutes ago heading towards the woods. Maybe you can find her over there.” Steve answers.

I nod, that’s possible. Although it’s not very warm, the sun is shining. It’s a good day to take a walk. “Thanks, I’m going to try that. Bye Steve!” I grab a slice of cake and run towards the exit.

When I walk outside, I immediately feel why the Luna took a walk. It’s pretty cold, outside. But the sun is strong enough to warm my skin. I like it. I walk in the direction of the woods, but after 20 minutes, there’s still no sign of the Luna. So, I try to mindlink her. I’ve never done it before, and normally it’s only for the Alpha’s/Luna’s of a pack to mindlink other Alpha’s or Luna’s directly. And family members can reach them too, of course. Or they need to link you first and set up the connection, then you can reply. But who never tries, never wins, right?

*Luna? I’m so sorry to interrupt you, but I want to talk with you. Can we meet?*

*Eve? Is that you? Off course we can meet, are you OK?*

I’m glad she isn’t asking about my mindlinking, yet. I guess the questions will come later. So I respond:

*Yes, don’t worry. I’m fine. But I have some things to sort out and I want your advice. Where are you?*

*I’m in the woods, with Aura, taking a run. I’ll be back in 10 minutes. Shall we meet together in the living area?*

I didn’t notice I was talking to Aura, but now she mentions it - I recognize the slightly different tone of voice.

*Alright, that sounds good to me. See you then!*

Quickly, I walk back to the packhouse and Luna Avery and I almost arrived at the same moment. “Oh hi, Eve! You were walking outside, as well?” the Luna says, surprised.

“Yeah, sorry. I was looking for you. Steve told me you was having a walk in the woods. But I didn’t realize you were running with Aura. I’m sorry I ruined the moment.”

“No, don’t worry, daughter. I’ve always time for my children. Come, I’ll get us something hot to drink. Please, take a seat already. I’ll be there in a few minutes.” and Luna Avery walks straight to the kitchen.

I nod, realizing she isn’t seeing my reaction and I smile. The moment I walk into the living area, I’m glad a woman decorated this room. It’s welcoming and spacious. It isn’t big, it’s just a nice furnished room. There are two dark green colored, soft and large sofas and a big luxueus leather fauteuil. In the middle, there’s a beautiful round glass coffee table on a furry karpet. A small, nice fireplace is on the side of the room, providing a pleasant warmth. The thick, rich curtains are completing the mood. I decide to sit on one of the sofas, in front of the fireplace. I like to look into the flames.

“Oh, nice. You’ve found yourself a warm spot. Good idea, but if you don’t mind, I’m going to sit on this side of the room. I don’t need much warmth.” The Luna smiles and takes a seat on the fauteuil, the one that’s the furthest away of the fireplace.

“So, tell me. What’s on your mind?” Luna Avery asks me while she nips of her tea. I take mine from the coffee table and hold it between both of my hands, it’s nice and warm.

“Well, you know I’ve had those headaches, right? Mom told me I had them before..” I say.

Luna Avery looks surprised, but isn’t saying anything. So I explain to her everything mom told me before. “... So, because the pain is increasing and the seizures are happening more frequent, I thought maybe you have a solution?” I look at the Luna, hopeful.

Meanwhile, the tea cooled down a bit and is now drinkable. So I took a few big gulps, talking makes you thirsty.

“Interesting.. So Bonnie thinks it has something to do with mindlinking, right? Your mother thinks your mindlinking is somehow more evolved, is that correct? Is that the reason why you were able to link me earlier today? I’ve never heard of this before. Sorry, Eve. But I can ask my mother… She know a lot about the chosen ones. I’ve learned everything from her, to be honest.” Luna says.

I nod. “That would be nice, and yes: you described it well. Mom thinks there is a connection between mindlinking and the headaches. And because I’ve already learned the ‘normal’ mindlinking and I’ve had some inexplicable moments with mindlinking in the past week, mom thinks it has something to do with each other.”

“That’s a nice theory, your mom had there Eve. I know Bonnie is a smart woman, she may be right. Let me ask my mother, I’ll come back with you as soon as I know more, alright? I’ll try to hurry, because of your pains. And until then: I’ll bring you some herbs from my garden. It maybe helps with the pains. I’ve dried and stored them in my room, you can put those in your tea to relieve the pain, when you have the seizures or headaches.” Luna says.

“Oh, that would be nice! Thanks a lot, Luna.” I don’t know what to say more. I’m relieved she’s going to help me. I felt so alone all these days! I’ve tried to talk with Adam, but he’s ignoring me so far. I guess I hurt his feelings a lot, when I asked him to leave the hospital room. But he has to learn, I’m not going to do everything his way! I deserve to have my own feelings and opinion as well. I’m not a dumb, silly and voiceless girl. He should know that.

I’m interrupted by my Luna’s voice: “Darling? You alright?”

“Oh, I’m sorry Luna! I was daydreaming. I’m fine. I’ll leave you then. Thanks again!”

And I quickly walk away to my own bedroom. I need some time to rest and think. Hopefully Adam will respond to my mindlinks, I really need him right now!
