Chapter 49

I'm currently dining with Aly, and I'm delighted she appreciates what I've made. I'm also not sure where I got Auntie's recipe, and it's the first time I've ever made a dish like this. Aly is particularly interested in learning the recipe as she wants to cook for her parents as well.

I didn't hesitate to tell her what the ingredients were, and she had already memorized the entire sequence because she had previously assisted me in the kitchen. I hope her parents enjoy it; I hope they appreciate Aly's effort as I know how much Aly wants things to change in her family.
I smiled and said, "I'm sure they'll appreciate it, Aly."
"I hope so," she said with a shrug.
When we've finished our meal, she offers to wash our dishes for us. Before going to the bathroom, I nodded and went to my room to fetch my cloth. As I haven't had a bath yet, I'm still wearing my uniform. Aly and I ate straight immediately after I finished preparing earlier. I never planned to take a bath after cooking because she was so anxious to eat what I cooked earlier.
In thirty minutes, I had taken a bath and dressed myself before leaving my room. She was reading a book she had borrowed from me in the living room when I saw her. Even when I sat next to her, she couldn't sense my presence since she was so focused. I can't blame her if that's how she concentrates on what she's reading as that's how I express myself and focus when I'm reading a book. The plot surprise is fascinating and leaves you wondering what's going to happen next.
She gazed at me as I coughed a little. Before closing the book she was reading, she smiled. I couldn't help but be amazed at her for having already read the first 1/4 page of the whole book. She reads quickly, and I think she can read the entire book in one sitting.
"I like this story; I like the plot because I can't predict what might happen in the future of the story. I like your taste in book," she stated.
I smiled and response to her. "You can borrow my book. Take it to your house if you want. Just give it back to me when you're done. "
She kissed the book with a never-ending smile on her face. "Thank you," she said, and I nodded in agreement.
I chuckled and replied, "Make sure you can return the book to me because even if you're my best friend, I won't let you have my book."
I am selfish when it comes to books as I want to collect different genres of novels so I want her to just return my book to me when she has finished reading it. I knew she understood me because if I borrowed the book from her, I'm sure she wouldn't let me have it if I didn't return it.
She nodded and said, "I'll just return it tomorrow or the following day. B y the way, I'm going to go to your room. I'll just keep your book in my backpack in case I forget to bring it with me. I will also take the things we bought earlier that we need to make the banner."
I nodded again and she stood up. "Let's just make a banner here, Aly," I stated and she nodded as well before she headed to my bedroom.
When she came back with the things we bought earlier, we watched a tutorial on YouTube on how to make a banner. We looked for an idea to make creative with what we were going to do because we had no idea how to do it. Aly took five cartolina papers earlier to have extra when we made a mistake. She also bought materials that we can use for design.
After watching videos on YouTube, we begin to create our banner. We make two banners, one for the entire CU soccer team and the other for Ivan, which I do for him.
I'm not sure how I'm going to cheer him up tomorrow. I'm not sure how I'm going to overcome my nervousness in front of so many people. I'm sure a lot of people will be looking for me tomorrow, and I'm worried about what could happen. I was just thinking I was going to shout his name, I was already embarrassed. It hasn't occurred yet, but it appears that all I want to do is devour by the moon, thus I won't be able to go to campus tomorrow as I'm humiliated and terrified.
I'm not sure what I'd say to inspire Ivan, so when we've made a banner, I'll look up what to say when cheering someone up on YouTube or Google. When I don't have a plan, I don't want to yell as I'm afraid the audience will laugh at me. This is my first time watching the tournament, and I'm not sure how I'll be able to do my duties adequately tomorrow. Even on television I haven't watched it because I usually watch kid shows like we bare bears, paddington, and power puff girls.
I really don"t know what to do and I can"t focus on what I"m doing so I repeat on a cartolina paper. Fortunately, Aly bought something extra because if she didn't, I would use bond paper. I have no interest in calligraphy and designing. That's one of my weaknesses so when we have a project, I rely on printing.
"I'm almost done, El," Aly stated while designing her banner.
"My creativity doesn't really work with things like this, Aly. Can you be the one to make the banner for Ivan? " I asked her. She stopped what she was doing and looked at me.
"It's up to you to make an effort for him. When he finds out you didn't do it, he'll be disappointed," she said.
"He won't know you did it," I whispered as I swallowed.
Before answering to me, she chuckles and takes a long breath. "You don't have a conscience?" she asks.
When I heard what she said, I gulped again. I realized that it would be so unfair and I will have to lie him. I'm about to do something that makes me feel guilty, and it's great that Aly is there to remind me.
I smiled at her and again I hold the pencil I was holding. "I can do this. I can do this for him," I stated with a determination in my spirit.
he nodded and smiled as well before she went back to what she was doing. I was about to begin when my phone rang. As we couldn't fit on the living room's little table, Aly and I sat on the floor, and she was seated near the table where my phone was.
"Someone is calling you, El."
"Who? Can you swipe the answer button, please," I stated and then he took my phone.
She looked at who was calling and drew a smile on her lips that surprised me. "Jas is calling you," she said as she handed the phone to me. I swiped the answer button since she hadn't answered the phone yet.
"Hello, Jas, why were you called?" I asked when I put my phone to my ear.
"Why? Am I not allowed to call? Did I disturb you? I"m sorry, I will just call you la— "
I did not finish what he was saying and immediately intervened with him. "What are you talking about? You"re not disturbing me. I"m just asking why you called me. What happened? Is there anything wrong? " I asked and I heard his chuckled. "Hey, don"t laugh at me. What happened to you? " I added, confused.
"Are you worried to me?" He asked and even I didn"t see his face, I know that he was smiling right now.
"Of course, Jas, so tell me why you called. Are you okay? "
I didn"t mind if Aly heard the way I talk too Jas. She"s my best friend and I don"t have to excuse myself to talk to Jas. My voice was just low and it"s up to Aly if she wants to hear me. I have no problem if she listens because I have no secret from her as I have already said everything.
"Don"t worry about me, El. I"m definitely okay," he response.
"So, why were you called? Will you come here to my apartment? " I asked, chuckling.
This would be better if he will come here because Aly is also here. I want them to get to know each other because they are both my friends. I know they get along because the three of us have similarities.
I heard him taking a deep breath before he response to me. "Can I? Can I visit you there? You don't have anyone in your apartment?" He asked and I looked at Aly who turned her back on me and focused on the banner she was making.
"Actually, I have someone here, Jas," I stated and he didn't speak immediately. I looked at my phone but the call was not over yet so I called his name.
"I will only go there next night. You have someone with you," he said and I don"t know why but I can hear that he just forced himself to laugh. "Go to sleep when Ivan leaves. You haven't had enough sleep last night so go to bed early. "
I laugh as I heard what he said. "What are you talking about? Who told you that Ivan was here? " I asked.
"I thought you were with someone?" He also asked as his voice was wondering.
"Yes, I have someone with me, but I don't remember saying Ivan is the person with me," I stated.
"If not Ivan, who is with you?" He asked.
"Aly is with me. She is the woman I refer to as my friend," I responded. "Come here, Jas. I want you to see each other. "
"Are you sure? Are you doing a project? Won't I disturb you if I come to you? " He asked.
"We don't do anything so come here. By the way, you didn't attend class? You have been absent for 2 days, Jas." I stated.
"There is no class today so I'm just here at home. Teachers are currently over time now as they prepare for the tournament tomorrow."
"If that was the case, just come here so you won't be bored in your house," I said, while the smile on my lips didn't fade.
"Okay, I"m going there. What do you want to eat? " He asked.
"Don't bother, Jas. Just come here. "
"Okay, I'll just fix myself then I'll go there."
"Okay, take care, Jas," I stated before I end the call.
I stood up and went to the mini table. I put my phone back there and also looked at Aly who was focused on what she was doing.
"Aly, you will see Jas. He is supposed to come here," I stated while the smile on my lips are never faced.
She looked at me and she smiled as well. "You"re so obvious that you like him," she said.
"Oh, really?" I don"t want to believe because for me, it"s not obvious. "Jas didn't feel that I like him so it only means one thing, you are the only one who said it"s obvious because you know the truth."
She nodded and said, "You treat him differently, El. I turned my back on you but I can feel how happy you are when you talk to him compared to how you talk to Ivan. "
I laugh and response to her. "What are you talking about? Don't even think about those things, Aly. "
