Chapter 64
We were immersed in quiet as I couldn't respond to what he said. We just kept drinking the shakes and eating the fries he brought until I summoned the confidence to break the hush that had descended around us. I'm not used to him being quiet, so I'm guessing he's bothered. I don't want to change his pleasant smile, as I already stated. I didn't want to ruin his day because he deserved to be joyful on this particular day.
"Ivan, can I asked you something?" I asked. He looked at me and immediately nodded. "It"s telated to the celebration you did at Baki's house earlier. It's okay even if you don't answer my question, I just really want us to talk," I stated.
"Oh, it"s okay. Ask me anything," he response, putting his empty cup of shake in the mini table. He looked at me and waited to ask him. I was hesitant to ask the thing that was on my mind as per the fact that I didn"t want him to think I was interfering in their lives. It was their celebration and no matter where I looked, I wasn't in a position to ask him if he wouldn't tell me.
I gulped before I shook my head to him. "Never mind, Jas. I forgot what I was supposed to ask," I stated, chuckling so that he can"t notice that I was lying to him. He just shook his head as he smiled before leaning his head on the sofa.
"I'm exhausted, El," he said with his eyes closed. As he stared up at the ceiling, I could see the movement of his laryngeal prominence. "I wasn't weary before, but now that I'm here in my solitude, it's as if I want to sleep," he continued. "I'm tired, El," he added, "but I still want to stay with you for a bit."
I didn't say anything and just stared at him from every angle. His jawline, lips, and noise, as well as his lengthy eyelashes, are all very appealing. He's both attractive and soft, and I'm sure I wouldn't have a hard time like him if I hadn't just met Jas.
I immediately looked away in his direction when he opened his eyes and raised his head. He sit straight as he look at me smiling. I could clearly see that his eyelids were heavy and he was just trying to fight the drowsiness.
"Do you still remember the beach house we went to before?" he asked and I immediately remembered what he referring, so I nodded. "Do you want us to go there?"
A few seconds before I processed what he said and I could not immediately answer him. "Yes, of course. Why not?"
He nodded, his smile widening. "Let's not spend time if that's the case. Change your shirt into a jacket in your room. It's chilly outside, and I didn't bring a car," he stated.
"All right," I said, nodding as I got up from the couch. "I'm just quick," I remarked before leaving him in the living room. I went to my room and changed. I wore my flowy denim pants with a plain mint green hoodie jacket. I exited my room and walked in his direction after finishing my dressing. I did not halt in front of him because he quickly stood up. We exited my flat immediately, and I immediately noticed the Ducati he had brought.
"Is that yours?" I inquired, confirming that he was the owner of the big bike.
Before taking his helmet on the handlebar, he nodded. I stared at him with fascination as he handed it to me. "How about you? You should use that because you are the driver," I stated while he was getting the leather jacket on his Ducati. He wore it and responded with a smile to what I said.
"Use it. There are no checkpoints on the road, so don't be concerned."
"What if--" He cut me off so I couldn't continue what I was going to say. He put his index finger to my lips and he speak.
"I'll be doubly careful when driving, but when you're on the road, there's no certainty at all so wear that if you don't want me to put that on your head," he stated, chuckling.
I took his hand and then removed his index finger that was touching my lip. I just rolled my eyes at him and did what he ordered. He rode up to his big bike. His smile never faded on his lips as he started the engine before looking at me. "Get on," he stated.
I didn't say anything and hopped aboard his big motorbike. His Ducati was high so I even had to hold on to him to get up. I patted him on the shoulder when I eventually sat down because he hadn't begun driving yet.
After a few minutes of waiting for him to start driving, I said, "Are you asleep, Ivan?" He chuckled.
"Are you excited, El?" I felt embarrassed because of his question. I can feel the heat flowing down my face and I"m sure I"m blushing now.
"I"m not excited. You"re just assuming peroson. We have been staying like this for almost two minutes, who are you waiting for? Christmas?"
"I'm waiting?" he asked himself seriously. "Your hug," he answered that make me gulped. I didn"t know what to answer so I kept quiet. "Why can not you speak?" he asked.
I gulped again and try to response to him despite of my stuttered voice. "I-I"m j-just thinking w-why would I h-hug you? I-I j-just can hold your s-shoulder, c-can"t I?"
I was even more confused because he laughed. "So, do you really believe what I said? I"m just kidding. I'm sorry we have to stand by for so long, I'm praying," he said as he stepped into the gear. "We're leaving," he reminded me before he started to drive.
It isn't late at night, so there are still a lot of cars on the road. Our journey was long, and I'm hoping I won't fall asleep. I can't deny that I'm looking forward to arriving at our destination. That's what I'm calling the serenity spot I'd like to visit right now because I'm still thinking about what I saw earlier. It's still new to me, and I knew that breathing in the fresh beach air would help me relax and enjoy the sound of the waves lapping on my toes.
As there is no moon now, I don't bother bringing clothes. I previously stated that the next time I return, I will not pass up the opportunity to bathe on the beach, but it does not appear like this will be the case. I don't know when the moon will rise, and I can't swim in the sea without it.
I considered videotaping what we were going through in the middle of the trip. I'd like to put background music on it and post it on Facebook stories. I was going to take my phone from my pocket when I realized I had forgotten to put it in my room. I'm in a rush earlier, I did not put it in my jeans pocket. I could do nothing but sigh to have the courage to borrow a phone from Ivan.
"Ivan," I called him by his name.
"Yes?" he immediately response.
"Can I borrow your phone? I wanted to take a video, but I left my phone," I stated.
"Sure, just take it from the pocket of the leather jacket I'm wearing."
"All right, thank you," I said, putting my hand on his waist. As I didn't find it in the first pocket, I groped on the other side and I didn't take my hands out of his pocket. I was astonished to see his phone missing when I put my other hand in his other pocket.
I was taken aback when he gripped my wrist and tugged it gently, causing my body to contact his back. I swallowed, and for some reason it appeared as though something was preventing me from bringing my hand back.
"I like your warmth in my back," he said, almost in a whisper.
