Chapter 241: Do You Want It

It was as if I'd cheated.

I hadn't, yet an inexplicable pang of guilt squeezed my chest as I glanced at Christopher. "Mr. Valence, he's here to pick me up. So, I won't trouble you any further. Thank you."

I leaned against the car, steadying myself before making my way to the Mulsanne.

"You..." Christopher's voice trailed off, a look of concern clouding his blue eyes. He reached out, almost as if to touch me, but pulled back, simply helping me into Jerry's car instead.

Turning to Jerry, he spoke coldly, "There's no room for misunderstandings here. She was drugged. I'm trusting you to look after her and not take advantage."

Jerry scoffed, his tone dripping with sarcasm, "Mr. Valence, you really are a laugh. Whether I take advantage of her is none of your business. Last I checked, you have nothing to do with Hope now."

Christopher's posture stiffened slightly. After a moment's pause, he murmured, "Such things should be consensual when both parties are sober."

He cast a deep, lingering look into my eyes, as if capturing a memory. "Take care of her."

With that, he shut the car door and walked away briskly, every step laden with unspoken regret and reluctance.

Jerry signaled the driver to start the car before swiftly removing Christopher's jacket from my shoulders. He pulled me onto his lap with a firm grasp, his expression icy. "Why didn't you call me when you needed help?"

I managed a weak smile at Jerry, pointing to the wound on my lip. "Weren't you still mad at me? The injury hasn't even healed yet."

Jerry chuckled darkly, "You remember the bad, but not the good."

I looped my arm around Jerry's neck, smiling coyly. "So, will you bite me again?"

The drug had clouded my mind, making me bold and impulsive. Normally, I wouldn’t be so forward.

Jerry raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised. "Only when you deserve it."

I pouted playfully. "Bad Jerry!"

When I was a child, I had often scolded Jerry like this. So after I said so, we saw surprise in each other's eyes.

Jerry, always perceptive, asked, "Did you get your memory back?"

I nodded slowly. "Yes."

Feeling an unbearable heat, I let go of him and struggled to return to my seat. "It's hot," I admitted, embarrassment flooding my voice.

Jerry held me down gently, cooing, "Stay still, just bear with it a bit longer. We're almost home."

He glanced at the driver, his voice tense. "Step on it."

The car sped towards the neighborhood, every second feeling like an eternity.

Instead of my place, Jerry took me to the fifth floor—his place. As soon as he laid me on the couch, his phone rang. Nolan’s chattering voice filled the room through the speaker.

"Jerry! Did you pick up Hope? Elissa and I are still out."

"Yes, I did," Jerry replied, sinking onto the couch beside me. He put the phone on speaker, setting it aside, then leaned down, planting a gentle kiss on the corner of my lips.

Nolan exclaimed, "Don't bully Hope!"

Jerry raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eye. "What counts as bullying?"

The air conditioning was cool, but Jerry's breath was warm, tickling my skin.

Nolan seemed to think for a moment before saying something surprising. "If you make Hope's lips bleed, that's bullying!"

Despite the drug’s hold on me, I felt a surge of embarrassment.

In the next instant, Jerry bit me again, very lightly, his eyes twinkling. He responded with a casual, "Got it, you little rascal."

Then he hung up the phone.

His lips fell on the corner of my mouth again, and he asked in a low voice, "Can I kiss you?"

Jerry was doing this on purpose; he hadn't asked before biting me.

My heart raced, so I closed my eyes, hooked my arm around his neck, pulled him closer, and kissed him, taking the initiative.

My ears burned with a mix of embarrassment and excitement. It’s okay, I told myself—I was drugged. I could blame all tonight’s decisions on that.

Jerry embraced my boldness, returning the kiss gently and lovingly, his husky voice laden with joy. "Are we just friends?"

He was using my words against me now. I should have known; he had always harbored grudges since childhood.

My consciousness began to fade. "Yes," I mumbled.

"Yes?" Jerry bit me lightly again, snapping me back to reality. "How many friends like me do you have?"

Lost in his kisses, I whispered, "None. Only you, Jerry, only you."

Jerry’s lips moved to my earlobe, his voice tender. "When you ran into trouble, you didn’t call me. When you regained your memory, you didn’t tell me. You really treat me like just a friend, more distant than with your ex."

I tangled my fingers in Jerry’s soft hair, explaining with the last bit of lucidity I had. "It's not like that. Christopher was at the party too. I didn’t know who drugged me and couldn’t trust anyone else."

Jerry chuckled, his hand sliding down to caress the soft flesh of my waist. "Finally, you know how to explain. I thought you were going to be mute again."

I knew Jerry was referring to the past two years.

His warm lips left my cheek, and Jerry didn't move for a long time, as if the air had frozen. After a long pause, I heard a soft sigh, almost a blend of helplessness and resignation.

Jerry finally moved, his sculpted fingers gently grasping my ankle as he removed my high heels. He paused for a moment, seemingly checking to see if the shoes had hurt my toes or heels.

When I opened my eyes in a daze, I met Jerry’s dark, lust-filled gaze, understanding his silent question: 'Do you want this?'

That was Jerry’s style—extravagant and unruly—but he had searched for me for over twenty years without hesitation because of love, not mere possession. Even now, with an obvious opportunity in front of him, he hesitated.

Just as I was about to respond, he kissed me passionately before lifting me effortlessly and carrying me towards the bathroom.

"Your leg..." The drug was so potent I could hardly string together a sentence; my voice was soft and fragile.

It showed just how much the person who drugged me despised me.

Jerry reassured me with a gentle smile. "I can handle it. Carrying you is easy."
