Chapter 385 Did You Have Sex?

Next to the parking lot exit, there was an SUV parked horizontally.

Francis leaned against the front of the car, a cigarette burning between his slender fingers.

His indifferent gaze pierced through the windshield and landed on Elissa's face.

Elissa didn't even glance at him, turned the steering wheel, and sped onto the main road.

Simon had no idea why Francis came here so early in the morning to suffer.

Francis turned and got into the car.

Simon quickly and sensibly sat in the passenger seat and fastened his seatbelt.

The next second, the car shot out like an arrow.

He hurriedly grabbed the handle to steady himself.

The black SUV was very conspicuous in the heavy traffic of the morning rush hour.

In no time, Francis caught up with Elissa's car.

At a red light, he stopped steadily next to Elissa.

In such cold weather, Francis rolled down the window, casually resting his arm, the watch on his wrist reflecting a cold light.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Efren glanced over and asked Elissa, "What's he doing blocking you so early in the morning?"

Elissa looked straight ahead. "Why would he block me? Maybe he's on his way to work."

"But he..."

Elissa interrupted him, "He bought a house in my neighborhood, right across from me. He has money to burn."

Efren saw that Elissa didn't want to talk about Francis, so he shut his mouth.

After the green light, the two cars started almost simultaneously, driving side by side all the way.

It wasn't until they turned onto the narrow airport road that Francis moved behind Elissa.

"I won't go in with you. When Hope is ready in a few days, we'll go together," Elissa said.

"Okay, I'll wait for you." Efren took his luggage and entered the airport.

He glanced at the SUV parked behind Elissa, waved at her with a bright smile.

Elissa rolled down the window and waved back, then drove away after he went inside.

She stopped by the store on her way.

As soon as she got out of the car in the underground garage, Francis blocked her.

She ignored him and walked to the side.

Francis followed her step to the side.

Elissa, annoyed, looked up to scold him, but saw his eyes darken as he raised his hand to grip her chin and lift it.

Her neck tensed, making the red mark there more noticeable.

Francis's eyes were icy. "Did you sleep with him?"

Elissa realized what he meant, slapped his hand away, and coldly replied, "That's not something an ex-boyfriend should ask."

She turned to leave, but Francis grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

Elissa kicked him. "You must be crazy! If you don't let go of me, I'll sue you for sexual harassment."

Francis kept staring at her neck, unmoved by her hits.

Elissa, exhausted from hitting him, shouted, "Let go!"

Francis remained motionless.

Elissa, speechless with anger, spoke through gritted teeth. "Mr. Peterson, did you forget? Do I need to remind you that you coldly told me yesterday that you're going to marry Jessa?"

Mentioning Jessa, Francis let go of her.

Elissa laughed in anger.

She pushed Francis hard and walked towards the elevator.

At the store, the clerk greeted her, noticing the red mark on her neck with a suggestive look. "Ms. Wilson, it looks like you and Mr. Peterson have a very happy and satisfying sex life."

Elissa stood in front of the mirror, touching the red mark on her neck.

She tapped the teasing clerk. "Don't always think about these things. I slipped while shaving and nicked my neck. And don't mention Francis again. We broke up"

Francis returned to the hospital, where Rainey was waiting for him.

"Can we talk?" Rainey said.

Francis sat down next to Rainey.

Rainey looked at his face and asked, "Did you have a fight with Elissa?"

Francis didn't respond.

Rainey thought of yesterday, when he was behind her car and must have heard Elissa introduce Efren as her boyfriend.

Yesterday, she thought he was calm, but he went over there first thing this morning.

"Did Elissa hit your neck?"

Francis suppressed his emotions. "Say what you want to say."

Rainey didn't beat around the bush. "Cancel the wedding with Jessa."

Francis refused, "If that's all you want to talk about, I won't stay."

Seeing him about to leave, Rainey pressed him down and persuaded, "Francis, this is your first relationship. You don't understand a woman's mind. If you marry Jessa, Elissa will never forgive you."

Francis showed no emotion. "Isn't that what you want?"

Rainey was at a loss for words.

They didn't want him to continue with Elissa, but they also didn't want him to marry Jessa.

They agreed before because Jessa was pregnant with his child, but now that the child was gone, the wedding was unnecessary.

With Jessa's scheming nature, she would cling to Francis, and no matter how many wealthy ladies they found for him, none would marry him smoothly.

If they encountered someone with a bad temper, there would be conflicts with Jessa.

What would happen to the Peterson family's reputation?

"Francis, Jessa doesn't want to marry you either. Forcing her will backfire on you. I think you should send her abroad. The child she's carrying isn't yours. It's for the best that you and Elissa broke up; you had different perspectives and would have had conflicts. I'll help you find a suitable wife," Rainey said earnestly.

Francis had heard these words so many times that his ears felt calloused. "Mom, I'm not a teenager anymore. When you left me in the wilderness, I had no choice but to move forward and find a way to survive."

"Didn't you learn a lot? If you weren't excellent, do you think so many people would like you?"

Francis responded indifferently, "I don't deny that you helped me develop these skills and provided the resources. So I haven't abandoned the Peterson family, but if you keep pushing me, I'll have to choose an easier way."

Rainey was silent, but she was unwilling to give up.  "Francis, without the Peterson family, you can't protect Elissa. You've made a lot of enemies, and everyone's watching. If you give up, they'll just take your place and crush you."

Francis smiled indifferently, "So, I'm paving a bright path for her."

Rainey was so angry, her chest felt tight. "Do you care nothing for the Peterson family?"

Francis's voice remained indifferent, "As long as you stay quiet, I won't let the Peterson family have any problems."

Rainey wanted to say more, but Francis raised his hand to stop her.

Simon stepped forward. "Mrs. Peterson, I'll take you back."

Rainey hesitated, but Simon urged, "Mrs. Peterson, please leave."

Rainey had no choice but to leave. In the elevator, she asked Simon, "Did you go to find Elissa this morning?"

Simon said, "Mrs. Peterson, you can hit me, scold me, punish me, but don't ask me about Mr. Peterson. I won't say a word even if I die."

Rainey remained silent.

Simon was indeed loyal to Francis.

After leaving the store, Elissa went to find Hope.

Hope took out an invitation. "I can't leave for now. Francis is having his wedding in three days."

As Francis's good friend, Jerry couldn't miss it.

Elissa glanced at the invitation and said, "Then I'll go ahead and wait for you."

"Are you planning to stay for a while, or are you planning to get married there?"

Facing Hope's teasing, Elissa flipped her hair and said meaningfully, "Well, who knows."

Hope said, "Whatever you do, I support you, as long as you're happy."

Elissa organized her company's work and booked a flight to Regal City. Before taking off, she sent a message to Efren.

She had just put away her phone and was about to sleep when the person next to her got up, and another person sat down.

The familiar scent of tobacco made her frown.

She turned her face and met a cold, indifferent handsome face.

After Elissa's career took off and she had some money, she never compromised on her comfort.

Of course, she booked first class for her travels.

Seeing Francis in first class wasn't surprising, but the fact that someone had already been sitting next to her made it odd.

But in the end, she said nothing and turned to sleep.

When she woke up, she found a black and gray coat covering her.

But she had asked the flight attendant for a blanket after boarding.

Turning her head, she saw Francis covered with a blanket.

But all the blankets looked the same, so she couldn't say it was hers.

However, it was obvious whose coat was on her.

She took it off and threw it at him.

Francis opened his eyes because of her movement.

Just then, the announcement for landing came on, and Elissa said nothing.

But after getting off the plane, he still followed her, and she couldn't take it anymore. "What do you want? Didn't I tell you to cancel the wedding yesterday, and you said 'no'? What do you mean by pestering me now? Are you being shameless?"

After she said a lot, Francis replied indifferently, "Business trip."

Elissa didn't believe him at all. "Francis, this is really pointless."

Francis's lips pressed into a straight line.

Elissa continued, "After all, we once loved each other. Be decent, don't make me only feel disgusted when I think of you."

"Elissa!" Efren came over, cheerful and enthusiastic.

He took Elissa's suitcase, and Elissa said, "Didn't I tell you not to come pick me up? You just got home and came out again, don't you need to take care of your grandma?"

Efren smiled. "Then let's hurry back; don't keep my grandma waiting alone."

He treated Francis as if he were air, holding Elissa's hand and leaving.

But after a few steps, Francis grabbed Elissa's other hand. "Elissa, I regret it."

Elissa ignored him and shook off his hand.

He grabbed her firmly, and she couldn't break free.

"Efren, call the police." As soon as she said that, a shadow fell over her, and cool lips pressed against hers.

She immediately tried to push him away, but Francis's large hand held the back of her head, deepening the kiss.

Francis was simply unreasonable!

Elissa opened her mouth and bit him.

When Francis paused, she stepped back and slapped him. "Don't act crazy with me!"

The sudden and shocking incident left Efren stunned, but he quickly pulled Elissa away.

They got into a taxi and urged the driver to drive quickly.

Seeing that Francis didn't catch up, they breathed a sigh of relief. Efren handed Elissa a tissue to wipe the blood from her mouth.

Elissa took the tissue and covered her mouth, spitting several times.

"Elissa, drink some water and rinse your mouth," Efren said.

Elissa took the water, which was warm.

She rinsed her mouth and drank a few sips.

At least it calmed her anger a bit.

Efren gently patted her back, soothing her.

Elissa took a few deep breaths.

Just as she was about to calm down, the car suddenly braked hard.

The driver cursed in the local language.

Elissa steadied herself and looked through the gap between the seats.

She saw two cars blocking the taxi.

Before she could react, her car door was opened.

A well-defined hand pulled her out.

Efren tried to grab her, but Simon held him back.

"Francis, let go!" Elissa struggled, but Francis lifted her and walked towards a black sedan.

He sat in the back seat with her and ordered the driver to go.

Elissa, still furious, slapped him again.

Francis pressed his tongue against his cheek, his voice flat, "If you're not satisfied, you can keep hitting."

Elissa was livid. "Stop the car, or I'll jump out."

Francis held her hands, saying nothing, but his meaning was clear.

He wouldn't give her a chance to jump.

Elissa kicked him. "What do you want?"

Francis looked at her with deep eyes.

Elissa kicked him again. "You're getting married in a few days. What are you doing with me now? Are you dreaming of making me your mistress?"

While Francis appeared calm compared to Elissa's anger, inside he was filled with regret. He thought his plan was perfect and for Elissa's good, but seeing her with Efren made him realize he couldn't go through with it.

Francis, with urgency in his voice, said, "There won't be a wedding. I'll send Jessa away—the child she's carrying isn't mine. Elissa, I won't break up with you, and you can't break up with me either."

Elissa sneered, "Why should everything be as you say?"

"Anything but breaking up, I'll listen to you," Francis replied.

Elissa had never experienced the frustration of two people talking past each other until now. "For old times' sake, I'll recommend a specialist for you. Go get some help."Francis pulled her closer, his usually calm eyes showing some emotion. "I planned the wedding for you."

Elissa struggled, trying to distance herself from him.

But he pulled her onto his lap, holding her tightly.

This made it even harder for her to struggle.

"You better not move. I have no self-control with you," Francis said.

Elissa was exhausted and gave up.

Francis, thinking she had calmed down, began to explain, "Your drowning was intentional. Recently, my enemies have been stirred up by Jessa's pregnancy. They're unsure whether Jessa or you are more important to me."

"So, when Jessa used the child to threaten me, I turned the situation to my advantage. When you mentioned breaking up, I seized the chance to plan a wedding with Jessa. This way, my enemies would focus on her, keeping you safe," he added.

After hearing this, Elissa's only said, "Don't hurt Efren."

Francis's calm facade shattered as he lowered his head and pressed a hot kiss to her neck, sucking hard to cover the glaring mark.

Elissa knew what he was doing but didn't say anything.

Let Francis misunderstand all he wanted.

"I've heard you out. Can you let me go now?" she asked.
