Chapter 276 Congratulations from Christopher

Jerry noticed I was zoning out and messed with my hair. "What's on your mind?"

I snapped back and smiled. "Nothing."

If my mom were part of the Ortiz family, I'd be super lucky.

Not only was my biological dad from the Harris family, but my boyfriend was from the Hammer family, and my biological mom was from the Ortiz family.

With ties to the three big families in Maple Valley, I wouldn't have to worry about anyone, not just here but nationwide.

Madison's influence made ElevateJoy an instant hit, turning it into the hottest fashion brand in the country.

People were clamoring for custom orders, but after talking with Elissa, we decided to stick to our original plan and not add more slots. Steady progress was more important for both ElevateJoy and me right now.

But we saw this as a chance to quickly grow our physical stores, not just in Maple Valley but also in Jacquar and other key cities.

So the whole ElevateJoy team was swamped, and Elissa and I were running around non-stop.

Thankfully, Sophia came back at this crucial moment; otherwise, we wouldn't have much time for Nolan.

As demand surged, our existing designs weren't enough, so we kept releasing new ones. Keith was falling behind, so I jumped back in. Besides custom orders, I sketched and joined virtual meetings, working with the design team on new styles.

Elissa handled market operations, oversaw the renovation of our first store, and picked other store locations.

We also had to set up the Maple Valley branch.

This time, we didn't have to hunt for offices. Once we knew the location and size we needed, there were only a few options.

One day, on our way to an office building, Christopher called.

I answered, and his clear voice came through. "Hope. Daniel told me you're setting up a branch?"

The RF Group was still a major shareholder of ElevateJoy.

I didn't have enough funds before to buy back their shares, and now, ElevateJoy's shares had skyrocketed.

Asking the RF Group to return the shares now would be ungrateful; and Christopher was a businessman, so investments were meant to make money.

While driving, I said, "Yes, Mr. Martinez has already approved it."

There was a brief silence before Christopher warmly said, "Congrats on reaching your goal. I'm happy for you."

I was a bit surprised. Starting the business was all about making sure my parents' hard work paid off and turning ElevateJoy into a big name. Now, that goal's been hit.

I smiled. "Mr. Valence, thanks for investing in us back then."

"Hope," Christopher paused, his voice a bit rough, then chuckled softly. "Looks like you won't have time to make my suit anytime soon?"

I cleared my throat. "I really can't. If you can wait, I'll make it once I'm less busy. If not, I can recommend someone else..."

"I'll wait!" Christopher cut in. "Hope, I'm not in a rush. You go ahead and handle your work."

After the call, Christopher leaned back in his leather chair, looking tired. Memories of those three years when Hope put him first in everything came flooding back.

When Hope gave him the suit she made, her eyes were full of hope and caution, hoping he'd wear it but fearing he wouldn't like it.

Back then, Hope was just starting out, while Christopher's wardrobe was filled with custom-made or designer pieces. Sadly, he didn't get the emotions in her eyes at the time.

A knock on the office door broke his thoughts.

Christopher pushed down his feelings, his voice cold. "Come in."

"Mr. Valence, there's a resume you might want to see personally."

Donald walked in, holding a resume.

Christopher frowned. "Whose?"

Donald wouldn't bring just any resume to him.

Donald handed it over. "Jennifer."

The room instantly felt colder.

Without even looking, Christopher's voice turned icy. "Throw it away."

Donald urged, "Check the position she's applying for..."

Christopher glanced at the resume quickly. His elegant fingers then crumpled it into a ball.

She dared to apply for Deputy Director of the Design Department?

Before Christopher could blow up, Donald wisely said, "I'll inform HR to look for other candidates."

"No need!" Christopher tossed the paper into the trash, mocking, "Let HR follow the rules. If she gets the job, that's on her."

He wanted to see what they were up to.

"Yes!"

Donald was about to leave when Christopher said, "Wait."

Donald looked at him.

Christopher snorted, "Cripple Micah's other leg too!"

Testing his patience repeatedly would only lead to more disgust.
