Chapter 353 Have You Fallen for Me?
Back at Tranquil Haven, Jerry pinned me down on the bed.
"It's not even dark yet!" I protested, feeling a bit embarrassed and giving him a good shove.
Jerry held onto my hand, "Today's our wedding day, everyone knows we definitely..."
I caught the desire in his eyes and couldn't help but glare at him.
Jerry continued, "Besides, Madison is playing with the kid in the children's room, so no one will disturb us."
I wasn't as strong as him, completely under his control, unable to break free or even stop him.
I was so embarrassed that I had to find a way to stall him.
"We won't talk about Elissa and Francis, but there's something we need to discuss."
Jerry didn't stop, his deep eyes looking at me, "Madison and Garry?"
I nodded.
Originally, Madison agreed, and I invited Garry to the wedding.
After hearing my arrangement, Garry politely declined, "It's your wedding, we can't steal your thunder. The part singing and dancing will be just fine without me. Your mom can give a speech, but I'll skip that."
"Hope, I understand your intention. I'm grateful that Madison allowed me to attend your wedding and didn't completely cut ties with me, but the wedding is important, especially considering the journey you and Jerry have been through."
"Feelings can't be forced, and I don't want to make Madison uncomfortable. Let's just go with the flow."
With that, Garry sighed softly.
So, I didn't arrange those segments for the wedding.
And when Garry came, he was very low-key, fully disguised, and only greeted Madison in private.
Throughout the wedding, the two had little interaction.
Earlier, it was Steven who brought Madison back, and Garry had already flown abroad for an event.
"So, you're so smart, is there a chance for Mom and Garry?"
Jerry squinted his eyes mischievously, "Trying to buy your time, huh?"
Of course, I couldn't admit it, so I argued, "Mom is our closest person, how can you not care about her happiness!"
"Talking about this won't help."
I wanted to say something to stop him, but he had already reached the climax while I was distracted.
I heard my own soft panting and was blushing all over.
Francis was determined to clear up the previous misunderstandings with Elissa alone today.
But Elissa didn't want to; she just wanted to cut ties with Francis.
She decided to let go.
At least for now, she still had to be responsible for Efren. Even if they weren't a real couple, she couldn't have both men.
"Mr. Peterson, save some dignity."
Francis had no intention of letting go. Although Efren couldn't beat Francis, he couldn't just stand by like a statue.
But before Efren could even touch Francis, he was pinned to the ground by Francis's bodyguard.
Francis had someone as close as Jessa, who was said to be his first love, and Francis neither denied nor dealt with it, even bringing Jessa to Hope and Jerry's wedding.
So why did he come to entangle with Elissa? He didn't deserve Elissa.
"You're just relying on your family!" Efren said.
Francis ignored Efren and only looked at Elissa, "If you don't want him to suffer, come with me."
Elissa sneered, "Mr. Peterson, if you had told me earlier that you liked this kind of forced drama, I could have spared myself a lot of trouble before."
Francis ignored her sarcasm and directly pushed her into the car.
Elissa struggled but couldn't break free.
"Francis..."
Jessa had never seen this side of Francis. He came from a strict family, with huge responsibilities on his shoulders, and his upbringing was tough.
Francis had always known what he wanted from a young age, making him calm and indifferent. Back then, he expressed his feelings in a composed and restrained manner. But before anything could happen, his grandfather sent Jessa abroad.
His grandfather said it was to cultivate Jessa, to let her learn more, but it was actually to separate her from Francis.
Years passed, and everything changed as they grew up.
When Jessa returned and visited Francis in the hospital, his attitude towards her remained the old indifferent and uniquely gentle.
Jessa thought that even if his grandfather intervened, it wouldn't matter.
Francis was too young back then to fully control his own life. Now that he had grown up and was gradually taking over the Peterson family, once he held significant power, no one could stop him from being with her.
So, even though she knew there was someone named Elissa who had been pursuing him and getting close to him, and they had been entangled for a while, Jessa was confident that she was Francis's only love.
But now, seeing this scene, Jessa felt a sense of crisis.
It seemed that Francis really liked Elissa; no, he was almost in love with her.
Jessa couldn't just maintain her usual gentle demeanor, quietly accompanying and waiting for Francis. She had to find a way to stop their relationship from developing further.
"The bodyguard will take you back," Francis said to Jessa and then got into the car.
The car sped away, and the bodyguard released Efren.
Jessa stopped Efren, who was about to leave. Her voice was always gentle and non-aggressive, making it impossible for anyone to get angry with her.
"I can see that Elissa likes Francis. I want Francis to be happy, so I advise you to give up early. If you continue to entangle, the Peterson family is not to be trifled with, and you can't fight against them."
Although Efren was young, he wasn't completely clueless.
Francis was too involved to see clearly, but Efren, as an outsider, could see everything clearly.
"You want Francis to be happy?" Efren sneered, "You've been pretending for so long that you even believe in yourself, huh?"
Francis's bodyguard was still there, so Jessa couldn't say much.
Jessa already had a plan in mind, and she believed that once she told Efren, he would definitely agree.
"I'm sincere. It's far from the city and hard to get a cab here. Let me give you a ride."
Efren bit back his refusal, bending down to get into the car.
The bodyguard had been with Francis for a long time and knew Jessa was kind, so he didn't say anything.
When they reached the city, Efren got out of the car and went straight into the coffee shop across the street.
Jessa was taken to her place by the bodyguard.
She drank a glass of water at home, waited for a while, then got a cab to the place where Efren had gotten off.
The two exchanged a glance through the window of the coffee shop.
Jessa found a more suitable place to talk and had someone deliver a note to Efren.
Efren waited for half an hour before heading to the address on the note.
It was an escape room.
They dodged the cameras inside, pretended to look for clues, and talked quietly.
After hearing Jessa's plan, Efren scoffed, "Do you think Francis is stupid?"
"And if you were really capable, you would stop them. Who knows what might happen between them now."
Jessa smiled, "But you showed up, didn't you?"
Efren was silent for a moment, "I supposed you had a brilliant plan. I don't want them to be together."
"In that regard, I'm more honest than you."
Jessa wasn't angry, keeping her smile.
Her tone remained gentle, "Tonight, let them clear up their previous misunderstandings. Tomorrow night, let them have new misunderstandings."
The car drove into the underground garage, and Elissa tried to get off before it stopped.
Francis held her down, "If you want to talk in the car, I'm game."
"You really are out of your mind."
Elissa's tone was cold.
The driver had already gotten out of the car.
Francis asked her, "Upstairs or here?"
Elissa kicked him, "Nowhere. I don't want to talk to you. Breathing the same air as you makes me sick."
Especially since Francis had Jessa's light fragrance on him.
Francis pressed his leg against Elissa's, his jawline tight, "Fine, I see you prefer the car."
Elissa couldn't wrench free. She tried everything but was still firmly restrained.
So what if he was strong?
Elissa stopped struggling, not wanting to waste energy, and turned away from him.
Francis didn't force her to turn her face back. In that awkward position, he slowly said, "It was my fault back at the airport."
"I said some harsh things. I apologize."
Elissa remained silent.
Francis continued, "I planned to apologize before Jerry proposed, but when I messaged you to meet at Brew Haven Cafe, you didn't reply..."
"Nor did you show up."
As he said this, his voice seemed a bit aggrieved, with a hint of blaming Elissa.
Elissa's tone was indifferent, "You just said harsh things and hoped I'd accept your apology in a cafe you planned. Who do you think you are?"
"No matter what you say today, I won't forgive you."
"Francis, listen carefully, I never want to have..."
The rest of her words were cut off by Francis's kiss, and Elissa had never felt so humiliated.
When Elissa pursued Francis, he was indifferent. She was competitive and wanted to make him like her.
But being completely and ruthlessly hurt by Francis wasn't what made Elissa the angriest. What made her the angriest was that he was so close to Jessa while pursuing Elissa.
Pretending to be hurt, pretending to be sick, and now pressing her down to apologize, all these were so absurd.
When Elissa responded, Francis's eyes flashed with joy, deepening the kiss.
But he didn't expect her to bite him hard, his mouth filled with the taste of blood.
His tongue felt numb and painful.
Francis loosened his grip for a moment, and Elissa escaped his hold, opened the car door, and ran quickly.
He immediately got out to chase her, shouldered her, and went upstairs. He unlocked the door through face recognition, kicked it shut, and pressed Elissa onto the sofa.
Elissa had been hitting him all the way, but he never released his grip.
She hated this feeling of being forced.
But before Elissa could curse, she heard Francis say calmly, "Jerry did give you the shop, but there are many ways to make a shop lose business. You and Hope are close, knowing how hard she worked. You don't want her and Jerry to have a falling out over this, do you?"
Seeing that reasoning didn't work, Francis started threatening her.
Elissa said through gritted teeth, "They won't have a falling out. Jerry will always stand by Hope. If I tell Hope about your shameless behavior, Jerry will naturally find a way to stop you."
Francis smirked, "It's just as well I'm bored lately. Let Jerry and Hope skip their honeymoon and spend their time fighting me."
Elissa was defeated, not by Francis, but by Jerry.
If Francis really started a business war with Jerry, Maple Valley would be in chaos.
Hope would definitely be worried.
They had just gotten married, and if they couldn't live peacefully because of Elissa, she would be the sinner.
But Elissa still put on a brave face, "You're such a good friend to Jerry."
Francis didn't care. He tidied Elissa's messy hair and said, "Can we talk now?"
"If not, I'll call Jerry right now."
Elissa took a deep breath, still angry. She took another deep breath.
Until she calmed down, she said, "Say whatever you want to say."
Francis let her go and stood up, taking a drink from the fridge and opening the cap for her.
Elissa didn't care. She wasn't a little girl who would be moved by someone opening a bottle cap for her. She could open it herself!
She took a couple of sips, finally calming down.
She leaned against the corner of the sofa, giving him a sidelong glance, "Go ahead."
Francis apologized again, but Elissa clearly didn't accept it.
"If you have any complaints, say them. Tell me what I need to do to get along with you, and I'll do it," Francis said.
"You'll do whatever I say?"
Elissa had a mischievous thought.
Francis knew her well; she had many ideas.
"You can't ask me to eat shit, can you?"
Elissa looked disgusted, "You're so gross."
Francis always forced kisses on her. If she asked him to eat shit, who was she really punishing then?
"I've accepted your apology. From now on, we'll get along. When we meet next time, I'll smile and greet you, Mr. Peterson."
Francis's face didn't look good. Seeing Elissa about to leave, he pulled her back and held her on his lap.
Elissa deliberately wrapped her arms around Francis's neck, raised her red lips, and spoke close to his ear, even blowing on it.
"Mr. Peterson, your preferences are quite unique, but I don't like them."
"Why don't you go find Jessa? She seems to like your domineering ways."
As she spoke, Elissa raised her hand and scratched Francis's Adam's apple with her nail.
Francis's muscles instantly tensed, his Adam's apple moving slowly up and down, his eyes darkening.
Elissa's smile widened, her hand moving from his Adam's apple to his collarbone.
She observed Francis's reaction, continuing downward, finally stopping at his belt.
But when Francis leaned in to kiss her, Elissa covered his mouth.
She smiled with curved eyes, but her red lips had a hint of cruelty.
"Mr. Peterson, with this reaction, could it be that you've fallen for me?"
