Chapter 261 Something Happened

Madison blurted out, "What a coincidence!"

Two years ago, Sarah had pretended to be the Harris family's daughter.

Sarah and Hope shared the same birthday and were born in the same hospital.

One or two coincidences were normal, but when everything lined up like this, it was weird.

The deeper Madison dug into the documents, the more serious her expression became.

Given Sarah's history of assuming other people's identities, Madison couldn't help but think more deeply.

Madison loved Sarah, no doubt. She'd do anything for her, but only if Sarah was really her daughter.

Juniper and Madison shared the same thought, their faces showing shock. "Do you think Ms. Royston could be..."

"Keep it down," Madison interrupted, glancing at the door. "But the paternity test was done through your connections, right?"

Madison was cautious even in her excitement about finding her biological daughter. They had done the paternity test three times.

One had been given to the hospital, onesent abroad, and the most definitive one had done done through Juniper's connections.

All of them matched.

That was why Madison favored Sarah so much. Whatever Sarah wanted, Madison went along with.

Juniper hesitated. "It's not necessarily foolproof."

She racked her brain, thinking if there was any possibility of a mistake in any step.

Could someone have tampered with the paternity test reports?

But who could alter results from three different institutions simultaneously?

Even Sarah didn't know who Juniper's connection was

So, how could they have tampered with it?

Seeing Madison's heavy expression, Juniper suggested, "Madison, how about we do another paternity test?"

Madison looked at her. "With Sarah?"

She recalled the first time she saw Sarah last year—timid, shy, and obedient.

She had spent a lot of effort caring for Sarah.

If Sarah were really pretending to be Madison's daughter, a new paternity test would confirm it.

But what if Sarah was her daughter? How would Madison face her then?

"We can't...," Madison shook her head, then reconsidered, "Hold on. We can do it."

Juniper was confused. "So can we or can't we?"

Madison looked at her. "We can do it. But we can't let Sarah know. You need to handle this quietly."

This way, they wouldn't alert anyone.

Juniper frowned, then had an idea. "Alright, leave it to me!"

Madison asked, "You have a plan?"

Juniper nodded. "Yes, but I need your cooperation."

"Go ahead."

"Tomorrow, pick up a few strands of hair from Sarah's bed and bring them to me before you leave for the red carpet."

"That's easy," Madison agreed quickly.

Coincidentally, Sarah was going to record a show tomorrow, so it would be easy for her to enter her daughter's room.

However, Madison felt a bit nervous. "Juniper, it shouldn't be wrong, right?"

"Let's hope not." Juniper didn't know how to comfort her, so she spoke honestly, "Sarah has the necklace, and the paternity test was fine. Even if we're wrong, it wouldn't be our fault; it would just mean we got outsmarted."

They were in the light, while the other party was in the dark, making it hard to guard against.

The search for her daughter had been conducted privately before recognizing Sarah.

Only a few people knew about it, and they were all trustworthy.

Somehow, the information had leaked, giving the other party an opportunity.

Madison thought about her attitude toward Hope, feeling a pang in her heart. "If we're wrong, then my daughter is most likely Hope, right?"

Juniper answered decisively, "Yes. Actually, don't you think Hope resembles you quite a bit?"

Madison asked, "In appearance?"

"Yes." Juniper nodded, then changed the subject. "But mainly in spirit. Doesn't she remind you of yourself when you were younger?"

Madison frowned. "How so?"

Juniper smiled. "Breaking up with a jerk cleanly and decisively."

Madison disagreed and smiled bitterly. "She's softer than I was back then."

If Madison hadn't been so ruthless, her daughter might have suffered much less.

Strangely, thinking that her daughter might be Hope, she felt a faint sense of anticipation.

Sarah, wearing headphones, sat at her vanity, trembling all over.

It was too fast.

Madison had realized the truth much faster than she had anticipated.

When Sarah heard that Madison's biological daughter might be Hope, she was so shocked that she dropped the cream in her hand.

The black, round jar rolled far across the floor, turned a corner, and hit the wall before stopping.

How could this be?

Why was it Hope again?

Why did Hope have such good fortune, being both the daughter of the Harris family and Madison's daughter?

And what about her? Was she destined never even to be a substitute?  Was she only fit to wallow in the mud?

Sarah was unwilling! Resentful! And she refused to accept it!

Sarah suddenly stood up, frantically climbing onto the bed to meticulously search for her hair.

Even though the maids cleaned meticulously every day, she still found one or two strands.

After searching the bed, Sarah got down on the floor, afraid of missing even one strand.

As Sarah searched, her shoulders began to tremble violently, and she curled up on the floor, breaking down in tears. She cried silently, not daring to make a sound.

If Madison had discovered it a bit later, she could have finished recording the show and had it aired.

Being Madison's daughter was a natural magnet for huge attention.

She could have smoothly gained recognition from the audience.

By then, even if she wasn't Madison's daughter, she would have found a way to stay famous.

But now, what was she supposed to do?

A paternity test would only take a few days to get results, and Madison would stop her before she even finished recording the show!

What to do, what to do?

After a long time, Sarah calmed down a bit and heard her phone buzzing on the bed.

The caller ID showed Cecil.

Sarah suddenly saw a glimmer of hope, scrambling to answer, "Hello, something's happened!"
