Chapter 105 Austin, You Plan to Personally Take Me?

Ethan parked the car and made his way up to the third floor, joking with Charles, "How about I just move my desk into Dr. Howard's office? That way, I can keep an eye on your wife all the time."

"No chance," Charles shot back without missing a beat. "Ethan, don't think I don't know what you're up to. Your office is already right next to my wife's. That's close enough. You just need to walk a bit more, not stare at her all day."

He couldn't keep tabs on her 24/7 himself.

Ethan wanted to see Anna all the time. No way!

Ethan tried again, "Oh, I get it. But with all the patients and hospital stuff I have to handle..."

Before he could finish, Charles cut him off, "Did you catch last night's press conference? The new supercar that just launched is a global limited edition."

Then Charles added, "Only two in the world."

Ethan's eyes lit up at that, and he quickly changed his tune. "Don't worry! We've been friends for years. You know me by now. My only advantage is my speed! I'm almost on the third floor now. Starting today, I'll check next door every ten minutes to make sure nothing goes wrong with your wife."

Charles snorted, thinking all the previous talk was a waste of time.

He should have mentioned the "supercar" right from the start.

Meanwhile, Lester had been hanging around Crystal City for days, and Austin had to convince him to head back to Whisper City.

Even though Lester didn't want to leave, Austin kept pushing him, and his wife, Nicole Jenkins from the Stewart family in Whisper City, kept asking when he'd be back.

Stuck between the two, Lester cursed and reluctantly agreed to go back.

Before boarding the plane, Lester regretted not meeting his in-laws during this trip to Crystal City.

He'd have to look for more opportunities to collaborate in the future.

Ignoring Lester's annoyed look as he left, Austin turned and walked away after he passed security.

Unexpectedly, he ran into Tina, who was surrounded by a group of fans at the airport entrance.

Julia was busy today and couldn't be there for Tina, and somehow, her schedule had been leaked. As soon as she got off the plane, she was swarmed by fans.

Overwhelmed by the crowd, Tina was struggling and almost fell when a large hand suddenly supported her waist.

Tina turned around, surprised to see Austin.

Austin's cold eyes swept over the fans before he looked at Tina and asked, "Do you want to get out of here?"

Tina nodded eagerly.

Austin let go of her waist and grabbed her wrist, leading her to his car.

Austin not only had a cold, indifferent expression, but years of missions had also given him an aura that repelled strangers.

The fans watched him take Tina away but didn't dare to stop him.

After leaving the airport, Tina suddenly remembered something important and said, "You showing up like this today might make the headlines and spark rumors."

With so many fans around, anyone could take a photo or video and post it online, and reporters would immediately dig into her and Austin's relationship.

Hearing this, Austin glanced at her, his face showing no emotion.

Two seconds later, he looked ahead again and said calmly, "I'll handle it. No rumors will spread."

Tina had just wrapped up a commercial shoot and was completely drained, both physically and mentally.

Normally, she would have made a big deal out of thanking Austin for his "heroic rescue."

But today, she just muttered "thank you" twice and closed her eyes to rest.

Seeing her so quiet for the first time, Austin glanced at her.

Noticing how tired she looked, he silently closed all the windows to block out the noise, letting her rest.

After a while, at a red light, Austin suddenly asked, "Where do you live?"

Tina was in the middle of texting her driver to pick her up.

Hearing his question, she instinctively deleted the message she had just typed.

Tina turned to look at Austin, her eyes brightening. "Austin, are you planning to take me home personally?"

Austin's gaze swept over her face before he looked away to check the traffic light.

He said, "Just seeing if it's on my way."

Tina raised an eyebrow, put her phone aside, and gave her address. "Thanks a lot today, Austin. I'll treat you to dinner another day."

Austin didn't respond; he just drove toward her apartment.

Half an hour later, Tina got out of the car.

After closing the door, she leaned against the window and asked Austin, who was in the driver's seat, "Austin, I live on the sixth floor. Want to come up for a cup of tea?"

"No, just go on up," Austin said.

Tina didn't push it, said goodbye, and went upstairs.

After she disappeared at the entrance, Austin didn't leave right away.

He sat in the car, looking up at the sixth floor where Tina said she lived.

The apartment building had one unit per floor, making it easy to find her place.

Austin planned to wait until she turned on the lights before leaving to make sure she got home safely.

However, after waiting for three or four minutes, he didn't see any lights on the sixth floor.

Sensing something was wrong, Austin quickly got out of the car and entered the building.

At the sixth-floor stairwell, Tina was being harassed by a crazed fan.

The person was fully covered, with only a pair of sinister eyes visible through a mask and hat.

As soon as Tina stepped out of the elevator and before she could open her door, he emerged from the dim stairwell, covering her mouth and dragging her into the hallway.

Tina couldn't make a sound. She instinctively reached into her purse for her phone, but before she could unlock it, the man noticed and knocked it out of her hand, continuing to drag her.

He said creepily, "I really like you. I've watched every one of your shows. I've secretly liked you for years. I just want to see you up close. Don't make a sound, and I won't do anything more."

Tina quickly grabbed the corner of the stairwell wall, refusing to let go.

This guy was clearly not right in the head.

Unless she had lost her mind, she wouldn't just let him kidnap her without a fight.

Seeing her resistance, the crazed fan was about to knock her out and take her away. Just as he raised his arm, the elevator doors suddenly opened.

Before he could see who was inside, he was punched hard in the face.
