Chapter 98 Pregnancy

Three days later, they flew back from the island on a private jet.

In the days that followed, Charles got back into his routine, dropping off lunch for Anna at Radiant Life Hospital at the same time every day.

During this time, And during this time, Charles became increasingly open, not avoiding others. He'd often call Anna "honey" right in front of a bunch of doctors and nurses when he got off work.

Even those who didn't know they were married soon found out that Anna from the emergency department was Charles's wife because of his constant actions.

Since the photo incident, Michael showed up less and less around Anna.

A few times, Michael came all the way from the Tudor Group to Radiant Life Hospital, hoping to see Anna on the third floor.

But every time, Ethan, the doctor on loan, would step in and block Michael from finding Anna.

A week later, it was another weekend.

The night before, Alice called early, saying she hadn't seen Anna in days and asked Charles to bring Anna back to the old house for a meal.

The next morning, Anna set an alarm for eight o'clock, and after getting ready, she and Charles headed back to the old house.

Alice's love and attention for Anna were clear from the meals she prepared each time.

From the day before, various fresh ingredients were delivered to the old house.

Alice even got up early in the morning to start preparing lunch.

At 11:40 AM, all the dishes were served on the dining table.

Alice called Charles and Anna to the dining room for lunch.

But as soon as Anna sat down and looked at a nearby fish dish, a sudden wave of nausea hit her.

Anna's face turned a bit pale.

Instinctively covering her mouth, she quickly got up and ran towards the first-floor bathroom.

Charles instinctively followed her.

Alice and Cedric, who was holding a bottle of wine, were both stunned.

Alice put down the utensils in her hand and walked over, listening to the sounds of dry heaving from inside.

Suddenly, a look of surprise flashed across her face.

In the bathroom, Charles gently patted Anna's back, his brows furrowed, looking worriedly at her increasingly pale face.

After a while, the nausea subsided.

Anna slowly straightened up, turned on the faucet, and splashed some cold water on her face.

Charles handed her a face towel, gently holding her waist, letting her lean on him.

"Feeling better?" he asked softly.

Anna nodded.

But her face was still pale.

Charles reached out to feel her forehead, worriedly saying, "How about we go to the hospital for a check-up?"

Anna, half-leaning on Charles, pressed her fingers to her lower abdomen, frowning and shaking her head. "Maybe I caught a cold yesterday. It's nothing; taking some medicine should be fine."

After the two came out of the bathroom, Alice stood behind a hollowed-out flower stand, her gaze unintentionally sweeping over Anna's abdomen.

She took Anna's hand from Charles, asking gently, "Anya, how long has it been since your last period?"

Alice was experienced. From Anna's dry heaving, she could guess what might be happening.

Hearing Alice's question, both Anna and Charles were stunned.

Anna was mainly in disbelief.

While Charles was clearly more excited.

Anna's fingers, which were pressing on her abdomen, subconsciously relaxed and gently rested on it.

She calculated the date of her last period and replied, "About three weeks ago."

Anna subconsciously felt it shouldn't be pregnancy.

Charles always used contraception, except for the first two times after their marriage. Those times, he didn't use contraception, but Anna took emergency contraception.

And she had her period in between.

How could there be a baby?

Before Anna could figure it out, Charles suddenly took her from Alice's hand.

He held her waist, carefully protecting her, and walked out without looking back, saying, "Mom, Dad, we're heading back first. You guys enjoy lunch."

"That rascal!" Alice cursed, pointing at him angrily.

With Anna's condition, how could a mother not be worried?

Couldn't Charles let Anna stay at the old house a bit longer?

At least let her see if she was really pregnant!

Meanwhile, in the dining room, Cedric, holding his phone, had already dialed the family doctor's number.

In another ten minutes, the family doctor would arrive.

But Charles had taken Anna away!

Charles steered the car out of the villa area of the old house.

After entering the main road, he turned to Anna and asked, "Darling, should we go to the hospital or the pharmacy?"
