Chapter 95 Calling Out "Husband"?
The next day around noon, Charles pushed open the door and saw Anna waking up, just about to get out of bed.
He raised an eyebrow and quickly walked over, scooping her up in his arms. "How about a bath? It'll help you feel better."
Seeing she didn't object, he carried her straight to the bathroom.
Charles filled the tub with water, added some essential oils and rose petals, and then gently placed Anna inside.
As soon as she settled in, Charles leaned in again.
Anna frowned. "What now?"
Charles looked at her innocently, "Nothing, Anya. Just thought you might like a massage."
"No need." Anna closed her eyes slightly, "Go away, you'll just make it worse."
Afraid of making her angry, Charles backed off.
He just stood there, looking at Anna pitifully like a big, abandoned puppy.
Under his gaze, Anna softened a few times.
But every time she moved her arm, the pain made her harden her heart and ignore him.
This went on until Anna finished her bath.
Charles brought over a bathrobe and wrapped her in it.
Then, without giving her a chance to object, he carried her back to bed.
After drying her off, Charles brought over some clothes and helped her dress, then carried her downstairs.
During the meal, Anna still seemed a bit out of it.
Covering her mouth, she yawned and looked tearfully at the elegant and refined Charles across from her. "Mr. Percy, don't you think you've been overdoing it lately?"
"Have I?" Charles lazily lifted his eyes.
He handed Anna a cup of hot milk. "How about you call me 'honey'?"
Anna half-closed her eyes.
Charles continued, "If you call me honey, there will be a surprise."
After a while, Charles suddenly asked, "Anya, is tomorrow the start of your vacation?"
Anna, not quite getting it, nodded. "Yeah, three days off."
She had worked almost ten days straight recently, and with Ethan taking over for the next two days, she would have a three-day break.
A quick emotion flashed in Charles's eyes, while his facial expression stayed the same.
He pushed the food towards Anna. "Eat more."
Anna looked at him suspiciously.
She wasn't sure if it was real or just in her head, but she felt that Charles's look just now had a predatory vibe, like a big bad wolf planning to devour a little white rabbit.
After the meal, remembering the construction site she had seen on the fourth floor a few days ago, Anna asked him, "Are you planning to renovate the fourth floor?"
Charles put the dishes in the dishwasher, dried his hands, and pulled Anna into his arms at the kitchen door. "Yeah, those rooms on the fourth floor are just sitting empty, so I'm going to turn them into a conservatory."
"A conservatory?" Anna looked out the floor-to-ceiling windows in the hall. "Isn't that a lot of flowers out there?"
Charles glanced in the direction she was looking. "It's different."
The outside was a garden, while the fourth floor was being turned into a conservatory.
He planned to put a bed and sofa in the conservatory so that he could watch the stars with Anna.
Anna didn't get what he meant and was about to ask when he suddenly kissed her.
After lunch, Anna was very sleepy and took another nap.
But this nap lasted quite a while.
When she woke up again, it was already evening.
As soon as Anna opened her eyes, Charles, who was sitting on the sofa with a tablet, spoke up, "Awake?"
Still groggy from sleep, Anna's thoughts were a bit muddled.
Charles walked to the bedside, affectionately ruffled Anna's long hair, and then pulled her out of the covers.
Suddenly lifted into the air, Anna instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
Charles kissed her teary eyes, his voice filled with laughter, both teasing and doting. "Hungry?"
Anna blinked and met his gaze. "Not really."
"Dinner is ready. How about I carry you to eat?" Charles said.
Anna nodded, "Okay."
Charles carried her near the dining table. Just as Anna was about to ask him to let go, Charles sat down with her on his lap.
"Let me down." Anna's soft and sweet voice, fresh from waking up, made Charles's heart melt.
"Let's eat like this, Anya," Charles said.
