"I'll give you one last chance. Was it Michael who put you up to this?" Charles asked.

Mandy was about to deny it again, but since he already mentioned Michael's name, there was no point in lying.

Standing up, he shoved his hands in his pockets and looked down at Mandy on the ground. "If it weren't for your slight resemblance to Anya, do you think someone like you would even get to stand in front of me?"

Mandy's face went pale. After a moment, a spark of hope lit up in her eyes. "The child, that child..."

Charles cut her off, "Do you still think that child was mine?"

Mandy was about to nod when Charles sneered, "I never even touched you. How could you be pregnant with my child?"

Ignoring the pain on her face, Mandy mumbled, "No, one night at that party."

"The drink you handed me, right?" he asked.

Mandy instantly fell silent.

Charles didn't mind letting her know the truth. "I took a sip of that drink, but are you sure the person in the hotel that night was me?"

Mandy instantly went limp. She felt utterly drained. She wasn't sure. Because the lights were off the entire time that night. She never saw the person's face.

At that party, Charles didn't know Mandy would be so bold as to drug him in public. He had a habit of only taking a small sip of any drink handed to him by others. But even that small sip was enough for the drug Mandy used to take effect quickly. Sensing something was wrong, Charles immediately went to Ethan's private hospital. He quickly found out the truth.
